My AttrapeCoeur is here!!!!!!!!! And samples of delicious Guerlainy fragrances like Vega and Philtre D’Amouir and Angelique Noire and Quand Vient l’ete
I feel like I just got back from Paris. My nose will be otherwise occuped for the remainder of the evening. Must shower immediately and get remnants of all other perfumery off me.

Lucky you!
I’m feeling almost guilty for having such a great week to go through all of these. My son has pronounced it as “you smell great, mom,” which is high praise from a 15-year-old.
Be back later today with a review. Thanks, Christina!
That is quite a compliment coming from a male of any age!
I hope you know I didn’t mean that in a bad way. I know exactly how you feel. I have a 13yr old daughter who likes B.Spears, P.Hilton perfume etc, and when she compliments me on my stodgy(aka classic)I feel that I did good.
Oh, absolutely knew that. My sons actually have good taste for boys who could care less about clothes or haircuts and look like unmade beds most of the time. They surprise me. The youngest has quite a good nose and very distinct likes and dislikes. He normally doesn’t like the Guerlains, at least the powdery ones.
He’s a really strange boy anyway.
I can relate on your daughter. My niece is 17, and she just recently started going outside of what she had been wearing. I gave her some nice decants, and she really loves them, but she still had to get the Serendipitous one and swooned over it. I can’t figure out how she can like both, but that’s a teenager.
Since it’s about that time of year when I have to venture out to Das Mall :banghead:, in order to make my trip as painless as possible (I am a full-bore perfume ignoramus), what can you recommend in the way of a lilac-type of perfume? That’s my wife’s favorite, so…
I’m so happy I can help here!!! Hopefully some other people will pop in as well.
Eclat d’Arpege has green lilac in it. Does she like citrusy/woodsy? I have the original Arpege, but have not smelled the Eclat d’Arpege. The other notes are Sicilian lemon leaf, wisteria blossoms, green tea leaves, peach blossom, red peony, white cedar, gentle musks, precious amber.
I’m not sure of its availability. You may have to get it at Saks, but they’re happy to do online or phone orders if there isn’t one nearby.
Another is Guerlain Aqua allegoria Lilia Bella. Starts with lily of the vally, then lilac notes and roses and jasmine. I haven’t smelled this one, but you usually can’t go wrong with most of the Guerlains. I suspect this one is fairly sweet, but Guerlain usually never does over the top sweetness. Not sure about availability, but I’m sure you can order online.
Pleasures for Women by Estee Lauder sounds nice too. Pink berries to start, with some freesia and violet, then lily, peony, lilac, lily of the valley and rose. Base notes are sandalwood and patchouli, cedar and musk. That one is probably the best on availability.
Fleurs de Rocaille by Caron — violet, gardenia, lilac and rose are the top notes. Mid notes are Jasmine, ylang-ylang, Mimosa. Base is sandal, rosewood, Orris, Musk. This one has my beloved violet in it, so it would probably be my first pick, and the price point on it should be pretty darn decent.
Now, I feel like I’ve done a community service!
Another great lilac imho, is Frederic Malle En Passant.I think this is sold only at Barney’s or their online website.
