Patty and the Aliens – she’s back!

Forget this post!  Patty’s BAAACK! and she’s got a great story to tell!

Well, the Mothership must’ve come down last night and grabbed Our Queen!  Took her back to Planet Doblis for the weekend.  So I’m jumping on here to tell you that we are socked completely in with the heaviest fog I’ve seen in a year!!!  I was going to wear something slicey and green but I wore vintage Coco to bed and my robe is awash in it (yes, I’m STILL not dressed.  Bite me. 😉  So I’m going to take a quick shower and re-wear the Coco because it’s the perfect antidote to this scary, chilly fog.  Will review it next week.

Quick Foggy Thursday Question:  what is your weather like today and what are you wearing (either because of it or in spite of it)

Grey skies with sun trying to break through. Wearing Molinard Iles d’Or. I’ve looked up the notes for this, but on me this is not anything like the description; not fruity or sweet. More like woody and herbal.

    • unseencenser says:

Wow, really? I love Iles d’Or; on me it’s a lovely fruity vanilla, kind of reminiscent of powdery pineapple.

I’m just so tickled you’re wearing it! I would never have heard of it if someone hadn’t sent me a sample and said I had to try it. You have good taste!

  • Joanna says:

Very foggy here as well. Wearing Odin Nomad, which I got in the swap!

    • Musette says:

I don’t know that one. Describe?

      xo >-)

      • Joanna says:

Top: Juniper Berries, Himalayan Cedar Leaves, Rich Bergamot
Middle: Mysterious Palmarosa, Spicy Black Pepper, Creamy Heliotrope
Bottom: Tonka Bean, West Indian Sandalwood, Grey Musk
        (Per Odin’s page)

Unisex, woody, incense. I’ve been stuck in Minnesota Pollution Control Agency training all week and I thought this was appropriate. It’s subtle and warm and unisex so I don’t smell like the only chick in the room, (Which I was.)

        • Musette says:

LOL on ‘the only chick in the room’. You are livin’ my life, doll. That scent sounds lovely! I’m in such a perverse mood these days, though, I might’ve opted to smoke ’em out with Carnal Flower! :-w

          xo >-)

Wet, gray and chilly. Typical W. Oregon winter. I’m wearing my daily uniform of jeans, t-shirt and sweater. Spritzed on some A.G. Petite Cherie because it reminds me of spring.

  • unseencenser says:

Cool, trying to decide if it’s raining or snowing. I wore Vert pour Madame in defiance.

  • Dionne says:

It’s been an extraordinary February here in the Canadian Rockies, which is especially fabulous since February is normally the month when my body rebels and says, “AAAAGHGHG! More sun! I need MORE SUN!”

In fact, for the first time in 22 years, I am celebrating my anniversary without cold sores (my body’s way of telling me it’s NOT happy.) This is good news. I get to get away with the other half for a couple of days without my upper lip exploding into my nose. I’m pretty sure he appreciates it too.

Mornings have been starting out at about -15 C but quickly warm up to about plus 2 (….googling temp converter now) which is from 5 to 37 degrees Fahrenheit. Bright blue skies, sunny on the snow…. I am loving this. Too bad I don’t ski, because this is perfect weather for it.

Today I’m naked perfume-wise because I’m about to head over to Shopper’s drug Mart where Prada’s Tuberose and Vetiver Infusions are going for $20 a bottle and I want to try them out.

  • Sharon C. says:

Gray, gloomy, cloudy, damp from several days of rain and drizzle, and did I mention gray and GLOOMY! Temp SAYS 54F, but I think the thermometers are lying. Wearing Cuir de Lancome just because it’s been awhile. Yesterday’s chilly all-day rain brought out the 24, Faubourg/Coco/Obsession cozies. Will probably head in that direction again today after I finish grocery shopping and other errands…

    • Musette says:

That’s persackly why I went with Coco today – man, that stuff is incredible! It has the power to dispel the gloomies. CdLancome has that, too, without so much of the incense zing! Great choices!

Our fog lifted and it’s 46F. In IL. In February! 😮

Maybe it was the Coco? 😕

Sunny in the desert, so no news there. Unfortunately, it’s also cold and windy. Not complaining, though, since I don’t have any snow to shovel, which is always a silver lining.

Today, I’m wearing Profumum Alba, from a sample found in one of my Swapmania packages (thanks, AnnJune!), and WHOA. Goi-jus. That would be gorgeous, with an unidentifiable, yet somehow still very bad, accent. It’s going on my new list of scents I’d like to split cuz’ I can’t bring myself to purchase them on my own – i.e., the “over 2 C-notes” list.

    • Musette says:

Maybe because I spend so much time in front of perfume counters but I don’t even blink at prices anymore. I’m not buying much, either, though. So maybe I blink – just on the inside! 😉

Splits are the way to go, imo. Not only is it easier on your wallet but it gives you a chance to really get to know a fragrance before you commit. It’s happened before that a sample will cause you to fall in love and a FB will cause you to b-(

Exhibit A: Musette and the Drama that is Nuui!

It’s a wet, somewhat cloudy 40F day here in Chicago. Wearing Tom Ford Italian Cypress today … have been pretty much rotating through Italian Cypress, Knize Ten, and Creed Orange Spice the past week. Might break out the Habit Rouge tomorrow.
