Gardenia by Marc Jacobs

This time Margeaux and I are reviewing Marc Jacob’s Gardenia. Yet again, we are up late, have had a few boozy beverages and are completely full of shit. You must not take anything we say for the absolute truth. Come along for a rollicking adventure through the opening notes with us, we have so much fun making these videos.

As always I need to do a THANK YOU shout out to my BFF Kath for her Video & Editing skills, Margeaux for being such a good sport, TSO Jin for making the video blog ready. Really you all are the A TEAM!

  • More videos coming Shaviss,
    Promise.

  • That was Marc Jacobs boyfriend at the time, and yes he was probably thinking. I finally get in the papers and nobody will even notice me next to this cerayzee mo fo.

  • Hey Farouche,
Great call, it would be perfect bridal wear.
My Valentine’s day was great, how was yours?

  • sharviss says:

OMG that was great! More videos please! I have tried Gardenia and I agree – like, not love.

  • minette says:

you guys are wonderful! i love your honesty and your humor. your “red dress on the red carpet – IF you’ve just come out of a trailer” comment was a classic. love marc’s shoes and the dress, but not the white boxers.

oh, and i always learn new vocabulary words with you – so keep these coming!

    cheers,
    minette

  • I’ve tried many of Marc Jacobs fragrances in the past, the first thing that comes to mind is Biscotti Splash. It’s a bit too sweet and light for my liking but I can understand why someone would like it.
I’m looking forward to trying Gardenia. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

  • eldarwen22 says:

Might have to try this even though it may be loaded with tuberose instead of gardenia. Tuberose and I don’t exactly get along because it’s creamy and suffocating even in the dead of winter.

    • Aha! I don’t understand the complaint eldarwen22 because I adore white flowers, especially tuberose but I do understand that wearing something you don’t like would be uncomfortable. Do try it though and come back tell us how it went.

  • Musette says:

OMG! “the back of a freshly-waxed BALL BAG”? OMG. I can’t stop laughing! I have to take a meeting at the bank. If I start snickering……oh. my. gawdalicious! That is too funny! You are just WILD!

And Margaux is adorable, as always!

(hey – the guy standing with MJ looks a bit like Robert Downey, Jr – and he looks nervous, doesn’t he? LOL!)

  • Farouche says:

I tried Marc Jacobs Gardenia just yesterday and totally agree with Ann’s comment above. It’s very nice, but since I already own VC&A Gardenia Petale and Trish McEvoy Gardenia Musk, I won’t be adding this one to my collection. I think it would be very nice on a bride, though. Happy Valentine’s Day!

  • Martha says:

Oops, does that guy know that his shorts are showing? Hahahahahahaha! Well, he’s not short on nerve. I love gardenias and will need to investigate this perfume for myself. Happy Valentine’s Day, Portia and Margeaux!

  • Ann says:

Howdy, Portia! Hope you’re having a grand time wherever you are! I really like the Marc Jacobs for a soft, everyday scent. Doesn’t knock my socks off either, but it’s a nice one to have for those days when you want something pretty but unoffensive. Plus it also comes in a lovely, sleek silver solid perfume compact which I’m longing for.

    • Yes Ann,
I too have days where I just want to smell good with no effort required by my brain or nose, just drift on a pretty cloud of lovely.
BTW I am now back from foreign parts and loving being home.
      I can hear you.
      Portia xx

Hi Portia! Have you smelt Uncle Serge’s Une Voix Noire, and if so can you tell me how that compares with this? UVN defnitely smells gardeniay and I rather like it …..
