Etude House of South Korea GIVEAWAY

Hi there POSSEEEEEEEEE! Jin and I had an amazing time on our last holiday in Singapore & South Korea. One of my favourite places to visit while there is Etude House, a mainstream cheapy make up and beauty store on almost every corner there.

Etude House of South Korea

Etude house Let your Pink out campaign

Etude House have really excellent liquid eye liners and rouges that I use for my drag work and BB creams, masks, cleansers, brighteners, lotions, potions and all sorts. The staff love showing off their English skills and so we chatty chat while Jin stands by bored out of his brain. One of the things I always ask for when I purchase is extra samples and this visit I managed to score Hyaluronic Acid Mask and Pearl Aura Brightening Activator. I don’t use these but I thought you all might like to try them.

Cheap: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Oil. Good for winter body moisturizing, and you’ll smell like a fudge cupcake. Not cheap: elizabeth Arden Prevage night cream.

I’d like to try the HA masks. Good ingredient.

  • Tiffany says:

I happen to have Etude House lip stain, not bad for its price! Lately I really love By Terry Huile de Rose Oil, it’s so luxurious and smells amazing! Thanks for the giveaway!

    Hello gorgeous!
Except for make-up removal, I am horribly lazy with my skincare but the good thing with perfume shopping addiction is that I have tons of skincare samples to test (nothing South Korean, though:)). My favourite so far has been Sublimage la CrèmeTexture Suprême by Chanel. It smells and feels divine when applied and if I’ll ever dare to spare some of my perfume budget to skincare, this will be The Purchase.

From the make-up side of beauty products, I love the Meow Cosmetics foundation and Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin (beautiful shimmery base that makes just about any eyeshadow look gorgeous and stay put). Unfortunately it looks like they have toned this down to “Minor Sin” for some reason. How rude! I mean, if you are going to commit a sin, you might as well do it properly…

For the inner beauty, I recommend Sencha tea. My evening routine is to fill up a beautiful porcelaine cup with this and find a peaceful corner to sit and sip. I swear the subtle smell of osmanthus also smoothes all the wrinkles and creases away.

I have quite liked the introduction of South Korean cosmetics trends to mainstream brands (although some of the “BB” products are just ridiculous) and look forward to see what happens next. My big bet is that we’ll see some Latin American influences next. Thanks for the lovely draw!

Sampling new things is a favorite pastime! Would love to sample from Korea.
I like CeraVe face sunscreen–high spf, moisturizing, blurs imperfections fine as a primer too. It a bit of a splurge for me but in a ‘great investment for my skin and health’ kind of way. And plain green clay from any health food store is a great basis for a mask, with water or yogurt.

Splurges I have not actually bought but would if I had money: I looove Perricone MD Cold Plasma and Vit C cream. Also Sunday Riley Good Genes and everything else. They really improve my skin even after just one in-store application.

  • Fazal Cheema says:

my fav. product is Cerave cream. cheap and equally effective on all skin types..i am sure many already aware of it and use it.

  • nemo says:

Currently my main splurge is nice body wash such as lush Rose jam, and the laneige face cream that my mom gifted me. Both make me feel a little more pkt together than my usual self. Thank you!

  • Jennie says:

My favourite at the moment is L’Occitane Sublime Essence – a pore minimiser scented with beautiful white iris and angelica. It smells heavenly!

  • Gina says:

My favorite cheap thing is an aspirin mask. Just crush a couple of plain, non-coated aspirin, mix with a dab of water to make a paste, apply to face and let dry. Rinse and behold the magic! Thanks for the draw!

  • jalesley says:

I adore Korean masks – they make me look younger and fresher. If I have enough time – use them each – 2-3 days

  • mikasminion says:

Mmmm…sheet masks (or burn victim masks if my hubby is around) are great. My favorite is the Benton Snail Bee mask. They are unscented and work very well. I also love the Missha snail line and, of course, my Paula’s Choice stuff and Gold Bond Ultimate foot cream that aren’t nearly as much fun as the Korean stuff. My current obsession is the Amlactin Cocoon body lotion. It has earned a permanent place in my gym bag as it works great on my face and is super light. If you do try it, keep it from your significant other – I keep having to track my bottle down since my husband tested it.

    • mikasminion says:

Aminogenesis. My autocorrect is very helpful if I’ve typed something repeatedly. Sigh.

  • Musette says:

DNEM but….ooooh, baby! Korean Skin Care is my Holy Freaking GRAIL! So glad you and Jin had such a great time! xoxoxoxoA

  • Ashley A says:

Ohhh, I am such a sucker for sheet masks. They are actually one of my favorite beauty products. My other favorite is a rosewater clary sage toner, which seems to be keeping my skin bright and clear of acne since I starteed using it. I’m hooked and the fragrance is so soothing and a perfect ritual for right before bed!

  • eldarwen22 says:

My favorite body product is the Vaseline lotions because they actually work on my skin. My skin is sandpaper dry and most lotions just don’t do enough but I am about to try out my Amouage body products. My favorite shampoo and conditioner is the Chi line (red topped bottle) because it smells good, cleans and doesn’t weigh my hair down and doesn’t make my scalp itch.

    Hi, Portia!
Korean beauty products have been on my radar for a little while now. Several of my girlfriends rave about them. What do you think of the snail slime lotions?? I’m almost ready to try them. My favorite beauty product is the aloe vera I grow in my garden. The fresh leaf gel is wonderful for any sun damage, or mosquito bites, or early wrinkles, or pretty much anything. And dried elderflowers steeped in chamomile tea make a great mask, though a bit whiffy.
PS: Great portrait of you two!!
