Tuesday Giveaway

tobaccohoneyHey everyone — bad news is, I have a migraine.  Good news is…. let’s do a consolation giveaway!  I have an extra travel size rollerball of Soft Surroundings L — smells really nice!  Notes from their website are:   Tobacco Leaf and Black Honey, contrasting with smoky notes of exotic Guaiac Wood and a hint of Citrus. Patchouli and a whisper of Ylang Ylang comprise its alluring heart. An enticing blend of Black Vanilla with golden Amber undertones completes the seduction! An unforgettable fragrance.

My earlier review is here.  I called it a cuddly fall scent and vaguely Shalimar-like.  Leave a comment and I’ll pick a winner and announce next week. (note — I’ll bag it up, but the chief complaint on their website is the rollerball leaks, so I wouldn’t tote it around.)

  • Jenna O says:

Migraine sucks. Hope you already feel better 🙂

  • wilbur67 says:

    Dark room cool wet cloth.

  • CarissaO says:

Migraines are the suck (pardon my lack of eloquence). What a lovely gesture to offer a giveaway when you’re under the weather. Take care, and I hope your Migraine is indeed gone by today.

  • SublimiSomnium says:

Hopefully you rested and the migraine went away, never to come back again. Thanks for the SS L reminder/giveaway! I love all iterations of Shalimar so I’ve been meaning to try it.

  • Fleurt4fleurs says:

Any thoughts on Aya Blu or Gilda (also from Soft Surroundings)?

  • Fleurt4fleurs says:

I suffer from migraines so I am very sorry to hear you are suffering. They shouldn’t be called headaches, because people who have bad headaches just don’t comprehend the difference. Weather extremes can really effect mine, among many other triggers! Calone be gone!

I’m already receiving some samples from you so I’m not entering the draw, but I wanted to comment that I remember several posts about this scent and I was really surprised when I smelled the paper sample in the catalog! I really, really liked it. Definitely a cuddle-up scent but it didn’t veer too heavily into gourmand vanilla or sugar. It seemed….really well blended. The only reason I didn’t spring for it was the shipping, which seemed excessive because the perfume is so reasonably priced! If I find a store in the area it is definitely worth buying, but I guess i should give the rollerball a miss, or at least keep it at home.

  • Audrey says:

So sorry you have a migraine, they are horrible. Hope you feel better soon.

Ugh, hope the migraine has passed!
Honey/tobacco is a great combo, would love to try this.

  • Marianna says:

Sorry about the migrane. I had a self induced one on Sunday – too much red on a hot day and no water. The giveaway sounds great!!!

  • Barbara B says:

Don’t know if this is encouraging or depressing, but my migraines subsided now that I am post-menopausal. No hormones, no drugs nothing, so very lucky there!
Have been meaning to try L since your review but have not gotten around to it. Also trying to stick to my no blind buys policy (rather unsuccessfully!)

  • maggiecat says:

Ouch. Migraines are awful. I have a friend who’s had success with Botox injections, if that’s something you’re willing to try. I’ve long been curious about Soft Surroundings perfumes – they sound lovely, all of them, and I’d love to try this.

  • PJ says:

Poor head. I’m so very sorry. I’ll send good Karma your way.

Blerg — migraines are no fun. I always get them more in the summer, too, between the heat and the glare. Hope it’s not an awful one, and doesn’t leave you feeling too hungover.

I remember your review of this, and thinking it sounded terrific — I’ve tried to like Shalimar and just can’t, but I love tobacco leaf, so maybe this will suit me better? Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Meg O. says:

I hate migraines! For what it’s worth (total non-doctor opinion here), I find I get the hormonal ones worst when I’m not getting enough magnesium in my diet, and have been able to pretty much knock them out by supplementing with a low-dose magnesium pill every day or two. I hope this one leaves your head quickly! They are awful buggers.

And I would love to try the Soft Surroundings L — been intrigued since you reviewed it!

  • BsptisteBound says:

Oh no! Feel better soon! I’m sure whoever is the lucky recipient of the rollerball will be thrilled! Thank you for the draw!

  • Connie says:

    Please enter me 🙂
So sorry about your migraine! Have you tried putting drop of ginger or peppermint essential oil or extract in a glass of water and drinking it (as long as it’s food grade).
Or maybe watching some nice ASMR videos on youtube?
