What’s your EBP? Summer version

EBPAs you all probably know by now, EBP isn’t some kind of official-speak, as in, “Hey, Joe, what’s your ETA to the next delivery stop?” It’s Emergency Backup Perfume, and it was coined by lovely Posse reader AnnieA on a post several years ago. It’s something a lot of us probably do without even thinking about it. We apply a scent at home, then put the spray or vial or mini bottle into to-go mode and head out the door. And after a busy day or week (or in my case, sometime months), we forget to take them all back out again.

Now that we’re heading into the peak of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s high time to see what portable scents we’re all enjoying.

As for me and my EBPs, I’m haven’t been wearing much scent lately, but do have little sprays of Carnal Flower, Jo Malone Tuberose and Angelica and Chanel’s Eau de Cologne rattling around in my purse, saving them for dinners out and date nights.

What about you? Do have a peek at the bottom of your purses, backpacks, briefcases, etc., and share your EBP: What vials, decants, bottles, etc., are rolling around in there?

And, as always, a word of caution: I try to keep my EBP items in a plastic zip-top baggie in a feeble attempt at organization, but also mostly because I’m deathly afraid of leakage. Having once had the lining of a handbag stained this way, I’m not eager for a repeat performance. And it is nice to have your scent choices all together and see them at a glance, instead of spread out loosey-goosey in the bottom of your purse, which is what I used to do, before said accident.

I will be in and out of town and unable to reply, but I will be reading comments and enjoying seeing what cool scents you all are carrying around with you.

BTW, I also want to wish my beautiful, precious mother-in-law a very happy 90-something birthday today!!

EBP is Hermes Jour. It’s an “always appropriate” scent. And a travel spray of Kilian Flower of Immortality plus sample of Sweet Morphine almost empty.

I actually wish I had more on hand but at the moment I have a traveller of Vetiver Tonka (bless those Hermes 15 ml bottles) and a rollerball of Pacifica French Lilac. A few spritzes of Shangri La in a 2 ml atomizer in case of a glamour crisis.

I always carry a decant of vintage Bal and right now I also have a decant of no 19. I love both in the summer.

Ah. What I’ve got in my purse tends to change, depending on circumstances. When I was on vacation in Hawaii, it was Tommy Girl and Le Galion Tubereuse. Right now I’ve got Silences, Mary Greenwell Plum, and a mfr sample of Eau Premiere.

    Hey Ann,
Right now in my weekend away wetpack there is Heliotrope by Olivier Durbano and Nic Cage Raking Leaves On A Brisk October Afternoon Fragrance Oil. Both were excellent companions on our 3 day weekend to Tasmania this week.
Just took Hermès Vanille Galante out last week because it’s looking quite empty.
    Portia xx

I actually carry several vials in my purse, in my desk, etc. The mini bottles I carry and usually reach for are Videos on Eau Dr Cashmere and Hermes Jardin de Monsieur Li

Oh, that’s lovely you have a great relationship with your M-I-L — I do, too! Happy 90th to her!

Lately, I have little spray decants of Vero Profumo’s Rubj and Chanel 19 in my bag, and some weird random sample of Nina Ricci’s Amour d’Amandier or something? Don’t remember how that one got there, but I need to give it to my sister-in-law!
