Atelier des Ors Sample Set GIVEAWAY

Hi there Perfume Posse. My mate Megan from the blog MeganInStMaxime works for Atelier des Ors and at Esxence 2017 she passed me a full set of their current range to giveaway here on Perfume Posse. I thought that the brand was a gimmicky load of shite because of the floating gold pieces and the overly designed bottles. In my mind anyone who worked that hard on the gimmicks probably didn’t give a rats ass about the juice.  Boy, was I wrong. These are beautifully crafted, surprising and gorgeous fragrances. I know the lucky winner today will find at least one new precious love in the set.

Atelier des Ors Collection

Aube Rubis Atelier des Ors 1 fragranticaFragrantica

Aube Rubis by Atelier des Ors 2015

Top: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Black currant
Heart: Sage, Violet, Iris
Base: Patchouli, Haitian vetiver, Praliné

I keep trying to pin Aube Rubis down to a pithy 3 sentence paragraph but it’s too beautiful to do that to. I’ll give you a full review ASAP. It’s the most surprising gourmand I’ve tried to date.

Cuir Sacré by Atelier des Ors 2015

Top: Juniper berry, Cardamom, Cypress
Heart: Frankincense, Saffron, Cedar leaf
Base: Vetiver, Cypriol, Leather

Opens with sharp woodsy incense, like a cold incense stick. Interesting hints of an Indian meal too and slightly soapy. Gosh, they never do anything by the book at Atelier des Ors. The range is happily skew wiff, a sideways slant on each major note. Interesting how they do that without making weird stuff, all extremely wearable. When the leather arrives it is softly and bound by a salted vetiver, like a posh handbag in an Indian restaurant at a temple by the sea. Lastly it sits at plush suede.

Larmes du Désert by Atelier des Ors 2015

Top: Elemi resin, Frankincense, Cypress
Heart: Patchouli, Gaiac wood, Cedarwood
Base: Citric notes, Benzoin, Wolfwood

The resins open sweet and churchy. Woods back this up and keep the whole fragrance grounded. I love this and think Tears of the Desert a perfect name, like the resinous sap tears of those dry, twisted shrubs that produce such exquisite fragrance.

Lune Feline by Atelier des Ors 2015

Top: Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pink pepper
Heart: Cypriol, Cedarwood, Styrax, Cachalox, Wolfwood
Base: Tahitian vanilla absolute, Peru balsam, Musk

Cardamom, vanilla and a softly sizzling pink pepper open. It’s a luxurious beauty and smells like it cost money to create. A smooth milky opaqueness with little hints of booze and greenery. A light fizziness gives me memories of ice-cream spiders when I was a kid.

Rose Omeyyade by Atelier des Ors 2015

Top: Pink pepper, Rosebud, Raspberry
Heart: Patchouli, Gaiac wood, Brown sugar
Base: Sandalwood, Oud, Amber

A very interesting gourmand, fruity rose backed by a deep and mysterious oriental oud base. Clever and beautiful. The patchouli is that interesting clean plastic variety and it usually makes me squirm but here it is so perfectly and precariously balanced that I just want to sniff more and more and more. Excellent.

Iris Fauve by Atelier des Ors 2017

Top: Bergamot, cinnamon, iris
Heart: Patchouli, Haitian vetiver, cypriol oil or nagarmotha
Base: Myrrh, musk, labdanum, liatris

The opening of Iris Fauve is that cool, crisp, cardboard and autumn air cleanness that I associate with the best and most beautiful iris-centric scents. Slight citrus and patchouli background noise and a lightly salted grassy green vetiver but iris above all. Layers of puff pastry and leathery hints too.

    Larmes du Desert sounds beautiful.
    Thanks for the draw 🙂

  • Lynne says:

Rose Omeyyade intriques me. Seems like rose is the “it” note of the season, and Atelier’s rose is a very different and quite seemingly unusual and beautiful take on something that might be over done this season. I love florals and would love to wear a “rose”, and “Rose Omeyyade sounds like it would stand above the crowd with it’s wild mix of gourmand notes.

  • Ingeborg says:

Lune Feline o rIris Fauve are the two I think would work for me, still curious about this house.

  • R_UN says:

Lune Feline! Now that’s how I want kitten fur to smell.

  • rosarita313 says:

Thanks for the awesome giveaway! Iris Fauve is a given but Cuir Sacre is the most intriguing to me. And what are ice cream spiders??

    • Portia says:

OMG! Ice Cream Spiders are when you get a scoop of Ice Cream in a glass and pour in Coca Cola or Creaming Soda. It fizzes up into mountains of sugary deliciousness. No idea why Australians call them SPIDERS, sorry.
      Portia xx

  • flowergirlbee! says:

aube rubis for sure…a heart of sage iris and violet…sign me up : )

  • Nemo says:

I’ve sniffed Cuir Sacre once, and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. Also, I love their bottles!! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  • Barbara B says:

Tears of the Desert! Larmes du Desert – love churchy scents! Thanks for the draw.

  • Tara C says:

Larmes Sacrées and Iris Fauve both sound wonderful. 🙂

  • RoseMacaroon says:

All of them sound utterly fantastic — since I’m pressed to, i’ll confess to having an extra-strong hankering to try Aube Rubis — i know those notes individually, and live them obviously, but in combination…??!! Mind. Blown.
Thank you so much for the draw, its so exciting!!

  • Nelle says:

This is a great giveaway thanks for the chance! I love the notes in Aube Rubis and Cure Sucre, i love fruit notes in those fragrances! And I follow by email.

  • LaDona says:

Lune Feline and Iris Fauve sound absolutely delicious to me. And I am seriously down with anything called Tears of the Desert. Iris may be my favorite scent of all time, and to be truthful, I am kidding myself if I actually believe that I will EVER own a bottle of Irisss. I’d have to marry money, and right now I can’t even get a dirty look, let alone a first date. 😉 I’m a hot mess wrapped in chaos and covered in ghost peppers sauce. But I sure smell good. That’s my consolation.

  • Marcelo says:

Larmes du Désert, resin, amber and incense are my weakness, can’t go wrong with them (even in the summer).

  • Jerome says:

Iris Fauve. I’ve always been an Iris fan, but this one sounds as if it’s tempered in a more unusual way than anything I’ve ever tried.

  • monika says:

Wow! They all sound incredible! However, Rose Omeyyade is calling out to me, for some reason! I love all your posts and descriptions of the scents! Keep up the great work!!

  • Kirsten says:

Aube Rubis sounds amazing! Violet, Iris, Bergamot and Praline? Yes please! They all sound amazing though…thanks so much for the draw x

  • Kate E. says:

Aube Rubis isn’t something that would have normally grabbed my attention, but your brief comments sure did! I can’t wait to read your review & thanks for the draw!

  • Janice says:

I’ve been wanting to try Iris Fauve for a while now because I’ve heard many good things about it–and now the others are sounding almost as good!

  • Doc Sinister says:

Lune Feline — it sounds comforting and I’ve been searching hard for a good comfort scent of late.

  • SeptemberSong says:

    Thanks for making this giveaway!
Rose Omeyyade sounds like a poem, beautiful, intriguing, and complex!
I love warm scents with fruity notes, so that’s probably my favorite from what you described.
    Thanks again!

  • Roberto says:

I’d love to win this set. I heard only good things about this brand.
The only that interest me more is the Larmes du Desert. Incense and resins , sounds so perfect…crossing fingers!

  • Lisa D says:

The Lune Feline sounds the most interesting to me – I love cardamom!

  • Claudia S says:

Iris Fauve sounds quite lovely to me! Thanks for the draw!

  • Josephine says:

Aube Rubis sounds amazing, it’s the middle notes that sing to me.

  • BostonScentGuy says:

Love this giveaway! I’ve sampled Lune Feline and it’s a gorgeous smokey vanilla incense thing. Really wanting to try the Iris Fauve. Thanks for the draw!

  • HeidiC says:

Lune Feline sounds delightful, and Cuir Sacré sounds exactly like the kind of weirdness that I would love. But I have to ask — what are ice cream spiders and why does such a horrible-sounding thing even exist???

  • nicevulady says:

Lune Feline and Lames du Desert sound fantastic, but I must confess that the rest of them sound beyond beautiful. Thank you so much for the draw.

  • Jenbat says:

Larmes du Desert sounds great to me, especially because I’d love to try something with elemi in it!

  • Sapphire says:

They all sound wonderful! Lune Feline and Iris Fauve especially. Thank you so much for the drawing!

  • Linda Bolger says:

Ooooooh come to me, Luna Feline…hahaha! There’s not a note I don’t love in that mix. Cozy money, yum! They all sound interesting enough for a try and (don’t judge) I’m a sucker for gold flecks. Thanks for the draw!

  • Rosanna Ellis says:

Larmes du Desert sounds wonderful, I have fond memories of visiting the desert in the spring.

  • Miriam says:

Lune Feline sounds like the kind of scent I would live in! Comforting but interesting?. Larmes Du Désert also, I love incense and resinous notes. Especially in the heat when my sweeter go-to perfumes get a bit cloying, I feel like incense ones bloom in a very refreshing way, like they clear the space around me instead of filling it with cotton candy.

Very curious about Aube Rubis too…they all sound worth a try!

  • Tiara says:

Lune Feline sounded wonderful until I got to memories of ice cream spiders. What the heck is that?!

  • Anna Egeria P. says:

I think that Aube Rubis might be for me but all of them sound fantastic! I’d never heard of this house. Thank you for this draw!

  • Sara says:

Oooh, hard to choose, you make them all sound so good! I do love a posh handbag scent, and cardamom + pink pepper + vanilla = snuggly yumminess. But out of them all I’d probably opt for Larmes Du Désert. Thanks for the giveaway and making me laugh with your expectations of the scents 🙂

  • Bastet says:

Lune Feline sounds especially interesting-thanks for the reviews and the give-away!

  • Kathleen Smith says:

Aube Rubis is the fragrance I’d like to try most. I adore bergamot, violet and iris in fragrance. I’ve sampled Lune Feline which is incredible and on my purchase wish list.
Thank you for the exciting giveaway.

  • MMKinPA says:

Lune Feline… had me at cinnamon and cardamom. Would love to try, thanks!!!

  • Mariann says:

What a fantastic giveaway thank you to you and to Megan. They all sound interesting, but most pulled towards Iris Fauve and Larmes de Desert.

  • Suzy Q says:

Thanks for this exciting giveaway! Several of these are calling to me especially Iris Fauve because, well, I’m an iris slut.

  • Jeanne says:

Surprise me. Any of them sound wonderful. You’ve turned me into a perfume monster!

  • solanace says:

They all sound really, really good, but I’ll go with Lune Feline. Or Iris Fauve? I mean, labdanum with iris can’t be bad. The oudy rose sounds real sultry, on the other hand… Gosh, this is hard!

  • Connie says:

Oh how lovely, thank you Portia!
I would be most excited to try Aube Rubis- always excited by unusual gourmands. But these are all very interesting. 🙂

  • Rosemary says:

I’ve heard excellent comments about Iris Fauve, so I was very excited to see it included in this awesome giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity!

  • M3000 says:

I know Cuir Sacré, but now I would like to try Larmes du Désert from my watch list. I love wood’n’resins!

  • Anne Marie Gazerro says:

    Lune Feline sounds fascinating!

  • verbenaluvvr says:

Aube Rubis sounds fantastic — praline in the base! Also Lune Feline, I love cinnamon.

  • Clarochka says:

    All of them sound great

  • Iolanda says:

As I am currently searching for a nice leather scent, Cuir Sacré would be my first choice. Atelier des Ors is now available in my hometown – I guess I’ll have to pass by and try their perfumes soon.

  • TaffyJ says:

I really want to try Iris Fauve. Lune Feline is my favorite from the original four that were launched, with Rose Omeyyade coming in a close second.

    Terrific giveaway!

  • Sarah says:

I love them all and i mean it. Lune féline is my choice.

  • Santa says:

Iris Fauve is on my to try list!

  • Koyel says:

Yes yes yes please! I LOVE Cuir Sacré. I follow by email. Thanks!

  • Gigi says:

Oh heavens, I’m drooling here. I’ve been dying to try this line but have never come across any yet. Iris Fauve sounds right up my alley but Leather Sacre piques my interest too…just to name a few 😉

  • Nicole says:

I think it would have to be Larmes du Desert. I find churchy scents surprisingly appealing. Thanks!

  • Irina says:

wow! that’s a wonderful giveaway- the Iris Fauve interests me most, as an iris and fauvism lover, but all sound so very, very worth sampling
    thank you

  • merrilyrow says:

Aube Rubis has ME written all over it. Which is actually weird as I’m not generally a gourmand girl. But the notes – bergamot! grapefruit! sage! violet! vetiver! – sound just too delicious and fascinating to ignore. Thank you so much for the giveaway.
