Amouage Figment and Summer

Amouage Figment Man Amouage Figment Woman

I would like to put a nice Amouage Figment Man and Woman review here, but I didn’t get around to doing more than a cursory few sniffs.  It’s summer, and I’ve decided this year to not whine about my summer “notfeeelingit>”  Posting on Wednesdays may be light and may not have  much to do with perfume, but I will do a giveaway every week, at a minimum.  If something stirs me out of my summer perfume doldrums (don’t ask why, I’ve pondered it for years with no answer), you’ll get a review!

I spritzed Amouage Figment Man and Woman – one on each hand, not checking to see which was which – and really like them both.   One is very earthy (pretty sure this is the man)  Notes of lemon, geranium, sandalwood, animalics, vetiver, leather, labdanum, guaiac, balsamic.  Let’s see if I guess right.  Yup, that’s the men’s.  It is gorgeously earthy. I’m not getting a lot of animalics early on, but as it dries a little, then I get just a bit.

Amouage Figment Woman has notes of pepper, saffron, gardenia, tuberose, jasmine sambac, orange blossoms, lisylang, cassia, papyrus, patchouli, orris and incense.  This is softer and plusher. With the list of florals, I was expecting a big floral, but nope. It’s floral, but not a big floral, dragging out the tuberose more than the other floral notes (yeah!).  It’s beautiful and a light enough floral that it will be great in summer. It’s one of those complicated ones, though.  I need to spend more time with it because it shifts.

For some reason, I thought there might be fig, but I think that’s just the name. Oh, what?!  Like you didn’t think that for a second. Fig is always nice.

Huh, well, I wound up writing more of a review than I thought. So!  comment to be entered to win a sample of Amouage Figment Man or Woman.  I’ll give away six samples to commenters drawn at random, but you’ll need to tell me if you want a sample of the Man or Woman.

Everything I’ve tried this summer is meh. Maybe this Women’s fragrance would work.

  • Maureen says:

I thought fig would be in this , too. I would love to try the Women’s fragrance. Have a wonderful, easy summer.

  • Jordi says:

I would very much like to try the men’s version. Also, I don’t really understand the point of naming two different perfumes the same with the Man/Woman division, couldn’t they just give them different names?

  • greennote2 says:

That’s several recent Amouages that have intrigued me. There should be more fig fragrances! I’d be interested to try the men’s version.

  • Lemoncake says:

The women’s figment definitely is of interest to me. I love almost all of the Amouage perfumes so guessing this could be a new favorite. Thanks for the draw!

  • HeidiC says:

I definitely thought fig when I heard about this perfume! And I love me some Premier Figuier and Ashoka! Just going by the list of ingredients, I think I’d prefer the men’s, but they both sound great.

  • Thanks for the draw! Both the men’s and women’s Figments sound good to me, so I’d be interested in either.

  • Koyel says:

Yup, also thought there would be fig and thus was pretty ready to write it off. (I love eating figs and smelling the figs I’m eating, but somehow that doesn’t translate to perfumes for me.) I’d like the Man, I think. Thanks!

  • Anna Egeria P. says:

I love tuberose and white flower fragrances so I’d love to try Figment Woman. Thanks for this drawing!

  • Rosemary says:

I was totally thinking fig would be there too! I’ve gotten to taste four figs off my backyard trees, SO GOOD! I’d love to try Woman, thanks much!

  • Connie says:

Oooo, me please! I think I’d like to try the Woman. And I’m glad you ended up writing more of a review anyway 😉

  • Marianna says:

I am interested in woman version. As a couple of people mentioned, the bottle is gorgeous

  • Sapphire says:

Another one who thought “fig.” The bottle and box are gorgeous. Would love to try the women’s version.

  • Kandice says:

I also wish this had some fig in it, but the florals in the women’s sound beautiful despite that. I love tuberose so would love to try the women’s version though the earthiness of the man’s sounds intriguing as well. Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Pam says:

Patty, I would love to try the Figment for Men. I often prefer the masculine fragrances.

  • Ingeborg says:

Would love to try Figment Woman. We never get so high temperatures outside that it would be too hot for all my citrus and green scents! I also find Coromandel blooms in a lovely way at around +25C if it is a dry day. The craving for chocolate nearly stops in summer, that’s just a good thing.

  • Jeanne says:

It’s just tooooo hot here in Ohio. This is July weather too soon. Is there a scent for humid weather? I’d love to try the Figment Woman when it cools down. Thank you.

  • Sandra says:

I adore Amouage and look forward with eager anticipation to every new release. Loving the blue bottle color too. I would love to tey the Figment Woman- you had me with the florals. Sandra

  • I’ve had such great luck with Amouage lately, would love to try the Figment Woman!

  • Miriam says:

In the heat ( preferably the moderate kind where I don’t melt) some scents really bloom. Like Parfum Sacre, which I wore a few days ago during the Heatwave. I’ve just been getting back into sampling after a while with nothing and I’m interested to see how the temperature effects the experience.

Please do count me in for a sample of the women’s.

  • Kathryn says:

Well, of course there should be some fig in Figment. Nonetheless, I’d love to try some of the women’s. Thanks for the draw!

I think I’m less interested in perfume in the warmer months because there are so many good things to smell in the garden. It’s still late spring here in Maine with last of the lilacs in bloom, peonies just starting and the roses beginning to bud. Hard to imagine a perfume that would smell as good.

    • Queen Cupcake says:

I am a gardener, too, and you make an excellent point. I am enthralled, from Lillies-of-the-Valley, through lilac- and peony-time. Then, roses! Herbs, like cilantro, *especially* the crushed green seeds.

  • Tiara says:

Most years I’m so happy to finally wear summer perfumes that I often don’t try anything new for weeks so totally get where you’re coming from. I’d like to try the men’s version.

  • Paddy Mogan says:

I’d love to try Figment woman!

  • JH.X. says:

    The male’s version sounds lovely!

  • Monika says:

Pick me! Pick me! I’m dying to try the women’s version! Tuberose and summer on my mind… ?

  • ScentSpirit says:

I thought Fig too. I would be thrilled to win the Woman’s sample!

  • calypso9999 says:

Would love to try Amouage Figment Woman! And what is lisylang?

  • Samantha S. says:

I’d like to try, and I was thinking fig fragrances initially also. I truly despise Summer…I have Seasonal Affective Disorder in reverse. The thought of 6 months of heat and sun truly depresses me. I love the cool, overcast days of Autumn, I guess Summer is good for a couple things though…tomatoes and grilling. Thanks for the draw!!

  • shiva-woman says:

The “fig” in Figment excited me too. Regarding the many loads of samples, I often want to enjoy my full bottles right now, spritz on something I know and go. Amouage is one of my favorite houses but I haven’t been keeping up with the blossom, the lilac, and now this. I would love to try the Figment Woman. Thanks did the draw!

  • Bastet says:

Both versions sound interesting but with Amouage I usually end up preferring the woman. Thanks for the draw!

  • audesko1 says:

The woman”s scent would be my choice. Thank you for having this draw for everybody. Summer is heavy at times! you are no alone.

  • nicevulady says:

I thought “fig” also when I heard the name. Summer in the southeastern U.S. is so very hot and humid, so I get the light postings. I’d like to try the Woman, although either sounds great. Thanks for the draw. and thanks for the review.

  • Neva says:

When I first heard the name I was hoping for it to be a fig perfume, a fig perfume from Amouage!!! Then, I like everything that comes from the house of Amouage. I’d like to try Figment Woman if I get lucky.

  • john lowery says:

The bottle and box are really beautiful. i’d like to try the male fragrance. Thanks.

  • Queen Cupcake says:

No worries about the light Wednesday entries, Patty. You should enjoy your summer, so don’t feel (self-) pressured to produce the reviews. Speaking for myself, I already have more perfume than I can use in my lifetime. And yes, please enter me in the draw for the Figment Man, it sounds just like my cuppa! 😀 Always glad to read you, reviews or not.

  • Tara C says:

This one sounds really good and I love the bottle. Sign me up for the draw for a women’s sample. Thanks!

  • Kathleen Smith says:

Amouage constantly intrigues me and I love to experience their fragrances. I continue on my olfactory journey just as strong in the summer as other seasons of the year! I’d love to try the woman’s version. Thank you!

  • lizbee says:

I get ridiculously excited whenever Amouage releases a new perfume. I’d love to try Figment Woman. Thanks for the draw!

  • Doc Sinister says:

Summer is usually when I get the “too hot to smell” blahs, but so far not this year! I’d love to try the woman version.

  • MMKinPA says:

I find that I’m not very motivated to continue my trek through my samples during the summer (afraid of putting on something too big?) but I try to get in one per week when I know I’ll be in the a/c most of the day and aren’t as likely to be suffocated by the wrong choice. I’d love to try the woman version. Thanks as always.
