Scents for celebrating: Happy New Year’s Eve

celebrating
Wishing all you wonderful Posse folks a happy New Year’s Eve and a happy
and blessed 2019!! What are your plans for celebrating it? What scent(s) will you
be wearing?

After way too many holidays at work, my DH is now enjoying having all of them off, and NYE is no exception.
We’re still debating what to do, but several of our favorite restaurants are hosting special events, so we’ll likely attend one of those.

As for celebrating with fragrance, I’ve got several in mind to wear over the holiday, including the bubbly Clinique Wrappings for today (since it’ll be in the upper 60s — a virtual heat wave!). And then possibly Clive Christian C for Women or something else elegant and festive for the evening, perhaps a mix of vintage Must de Cartiers or 1996’s beautiful Faberge Imperial. And of course, gotta top it all off with the requisite red lipstick.

One kind of nerdy but necessary (for me) thing I started doing a few years ago, is to take my remaining batch of checks (does anyone else still pay bills the old-fashioned way or am I the last one?) and write the new year on the datelines of at least the first 20 of them. That gives me some time for the new year 2019 to get firmly planted in my brain.

Anyhoo, wishing everyone a fabulous and safe New Year! Big fragrant hugs to each of you and let’s make 2019 the best ever!

Happiest of New Years, Ann! I wore some of my sample of Roja Dove’s Diaghilev because it was the most decadent thing ever.

  • Brigitte says:

Late to the party! Happy New Year! I fell asleep 🙂
Wore St Clair Scents Casablanca…an unctuous honeyed orange blossom with a touch of citrus and animalics in the dry down…it’s a 50 percent extrait so a little goes a long way….gorgeous stuff.

  • Dina C. says:

Happy New Year to you, Ann, and all the Posse Peeps. 🙂 Our tradition is to stay home, watch movies and enjoy some snacks and beverages. I’m wearing Vilhelm Parfumerie’s Dear Polly, which is a warm and cozy tea-amber scent. Great for a night in. We still have and use a checkbook, too.

    • Ann says:

That sounds like a perfect tradition — we do that often as well. And so happy to hear that I’m not alone on the checkbook front. Enjoy the holiday, dear!!

  • Queen Cupcake says:

Happy New Year, Ann, and to all perfumistas at the Posse! We have no special plans, just a quiet dinner at home. I think I will bring out my YSL Champagne, though, for a touch of something special. I like the checkbook idea–I don’t write many anymore, but my hair salon is the exception: they don’t accept credit cards!

Blessings and best wishes to all for 2019!

    • Ann says:

You, too, dear!! And great choice — I had forgotten about that lovely scent!! Think I need to poke around and see if I can find my little bit of it.

  • Richard Potter says:

    Happy New Year!

  • Ann says:

Hi, dear! Glad to know I’m not the only one still wielding a checkbook! 🙂 Safe travels tomorrow and enjoy the holiday with your four-legged pals!

  • Kathleen says:

Happy New Year Ann and the Posse clan! I hope you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and celebration with your husband. You will smell beautiful with those gorgeous scents! I still pay a few bills with checks, and I like your idea of pre-dating the checks with 2019. It does take awhile to adjust to the new number.
I will be traveling back from AZ to home in CO and staying in a hotel with my dogs for New Year’s Eve. I have limited perfume with me, and therefore, will wear Block This Grand Affair and Lancome Iris Dragees, the bottles I have with me.

  • Tara C says:

We’ll be staying home with the dog, and drinking a bit of bubbly. Jubilation 25 will be the scent. Happy 2019!
