Random Friday: Random

The Big Cheese is stuck in Yangon, Burma (unless he’s still in Mandalay) because all the flights home involve – whoops! – Bangkok, and it doesn´t look like that´s resolving itself immediately.  There´s a lot of political posturing going on there, but it´s getting harder to imagine an outcome other than the Thai military going after the crowd of protesters occupying the airports.   The Cheese has been gone much of November, and he was coming home next week, until this happened.  The routes out of Yangon are pretty limited, and obviously he doesn´t have Uncle Sam offering him a helping hand either.  The Burmese (or maybe their neighbors) have now closed the borders so he can´t get out over land either.  It could be worse, of course – he could be in Mumbai, bless those people – but still.  I´m going to ask Santa to drop him down my chimney before Christmas.

How do I do it?  I am an excellent juggler.  I have a lot of balls in the air at a given time.  You should see my moves.  But sometimes I feel like dropping both hands, turning my back and walking away.  Let the balls fall where they may.  I´m tired of being a juggler.  I´m ready to audition for a different role in the circus.  Clown, maybe.  Even the concession stand is looking good at this point.

I drown my sorrows in a bottle, as many of you do.  On Thanksgiving it was vintage Femme.  I was in a bit of a … mood.  And trying to get my game face on for the extended family.  I stared at my fragrance collection, sniffed a few atomizers.  It was all wrong.  Then I popped the top off my Femme lipstick spray.  That thing is so raunchy it makes me laugh.  It´s like being smacked across the face by an angry, damp civet holding a riding crop in one paw and a plum in its mouth.  A discreet little spray to one wrist, which I dabbed on my neck, and off we went.  The first thing Buckethead said when I got in the car was, what´s that smell?  And you could tell he wasn´t thinking about pumpkin pie, either.  More like, what died?  I don´t know whether my dining companions enjoyed it much (my brother in law is mostly anosmic, which maybe was a good thing) but it was just the get-over-yourself kick in the pants I needed.

I need to stop reading the news before bedtime – I have the most terrible dreams, dreams of conflagrations and destruction.  Dreams where I am always searching desperately for one or more of my children while trying not to lose the others, pushing against the fleeing tide of humanity.  I wake up at 2 or 4 am, panting in fear.  No wonder so many people drop dead in the small hours.

So.  We´re still fighting Buckethead´s stomach bug, about which I will say nothing further, and I´m catching up on some pleasure reading, and eating some tasty turkey leftovers.   Let me take my Mope Hat off and mention a couple things.

First off, the Lipstick Drama continues.  I fell in love with NARS Jungle Red, a slightly warm red that on my lips is almost true, but brighter than MAC Russian Red.  I´m assiduously avoiding the word “orange” in favor of “tomato.”  I had the NARS gal put some on and suggest a blush, and what the hell – I went for it.  NARS Exhibit A.  I´ll drop a picture in here at left.  There it is, folks – the clown makeup I need for my new life.  I have to put, like, seven grains of it on my face – the SA literally rested the brush briefly on the blush and then shook it off – but man, it is beautiful on my skin with a red lip.   If you go look at the reviews on MUA, the range of skin tones wearing this thing is amusing.  Lots of dark-skinned women are wearing it, but everybody else is too, including palefaces like yours truly.  Also, I forgot to mention this last time, but — have you all noticed how much the lighting in Sephora SUCKS?  Sure, it’s bright enough — but the colors read so, so off in their store lighting — I am shocked that they’ve done that poor a lighting job in a store that’s devoted to makeup.  Something about the lighting shifts everything in the orange direction and mutes the blue tones.  So — try a lipstick on, it’s neutral in the store and hot pink in the hallway.  Try an “orange” lipstick on and discover it’s true red in natural light.  How dumb is that?

I´m still poking around for a true neutral blush – Strada was just okay, a little muted on me.  Maybe one of the Bobbi bronzers?  It´s hard to find a neutral blush without shimmer.   The other thing that happened was, in the process of blotting off 55 red lipsticks, I discovered that in spite of all cool-toned makeup lore out there, I really can work a warm lip – think salmon or coral or even orange, if it´s more creamsicle and less pumpkin.  I think it´s because it balances out the weird tones of my lip (seriously, around the perimeter they are faintly blue, and ugh).  MAC Vegas Volt was just a hair too Faye Dunaway orange on me, but Crosswires and the (recently d/c´d) Eager were lovely.   So, two points – one, you fair skinned, cool toned gals might want to consider taking a walk on the warm side.  Two – if there´s one thing I´ve learned from this experience as a makeup newbie, it´s that I need to follow fewer “rules” and play more with the colors the way I play with paints.  I´m so boring the way I do my makeup.  This was really, really fun, and thanks to all of you for your suggestions, which I’m still ferreting out and testing, and a special shout-out to Louise for her patience and humor while I tried on 35 (55?) lippies, and to Gina for all her great advice.

One more nod in the fragrance direction – I´m infatuated with Le Labo Poivre 23.  I can´t think of a single thing to say in a review that Lee and Patty didn´t say already.  I´m less of a Le Labo fan than many of you.  In fact the only one I wear is Vetiver (which doesn´t even smell like vetiver.)  Poivre 23 is a pepper-incense of phenomenal sillage, with a vanillic-incense drydown that was astonishing in its beauty.  Every now and again on the blogs we kick around the idea of, how much is a fragrance “worth?”   If you´d asked me before I´d smelled it whether this London exclusive was the $400, I think I´ve got that right, I´d have laughed in your face and said, no way.  But I don´t really have anything that smells like this.  It´s not about complexity – it´s like someone hit a bell and struck a deep, extraordinarily beautiful note that just went on forever.  I still don´t want a $400 bottle, but I´m trying to weasel in on a split, and I encourage anyone who´s interested in incense to cough up for a sample.

Finally, nail polish note – my local CVS has Barielle, and I bought Misbehaving Mistress.  Wow – a color that reads right in between gunmetal and brown.  It´s so cool.  It´s a faint shimmer, technically, but on the nails looks more like a super-glossy cream.  Fans of odd colors like Jacques, Metro Chic and some of those RBLs should check this one out.  Mistress gets extra points for not fading to black, even in dim indoor light.

I’m going to pop in from lurker land to give a blush recommendation. I’m a very pale neutral skin toned blond, and when I wear a bright red lip, I like to wear Laura Mercier Wild Bouquet blush. It is a silly name because there is nothing “wild” about it, it is a neutral brown blush with rose undertones. It is very pretty and has no shimmer. Give it a try. I love your blog and read it every day, but I never comment because I know a lot more about makeup.

    • March says:

That’s so funny, you are right — I would never seek out something called “wild bouquet.” Thanks for de-lurking with the name!

And what *is* the deal with all the shimmer? Who shimmers on their cheeks?

      • hollyb says:

Shimmer in blush really bothers me, especially when it settles in fine lines and enlarged pores……not pretty.

    • March says:

PS And thanks for the compliments! I don’t say that enough. It’s a major part of my blogging pleasure, the interaction with readers.

  • violetnoir says:

Babe, I am thinking about you and your adorable family, and sending good vibes your way to get the Cheese safely back home to all of you. Trying to hold down the fort must be very, very hard on you, but you are one strong woman, and I know that He will see you through.

Hey, I really like Poivre 23, too. I got a sample, and am layering it with Vanille 44. It is so yummy, I could shout!! :d

Wearing the Jacques right now on the tips. Since it is so popular this season, and everyone is wearing it, I’m thinking it’s just okay, lol!

    Hugs and love!

    • March says:

Oh my goodness. Poivre and Vanille — that sounds wonderful!

I’m still wearing that Barielle Misbehaving, but it’s time for a polish change. I’m thinking Metro Chic, since everyone made me buy it. 😉

  • Janet says:

I’d be willing to cough up for a sample…how much are we talking?

    • March says:

I just checked and The Perfumed Court has it for $6/ml, and in my opinion 1 or 2 ml would clarify whether you thought it was All That. It’s not overpowering, but it’s not timid either.

  • Catherine says:

Tuberose, cher March…Tuberose is how I’m getting through the holiday season. Despite whatever difficulties, tuberose makes me feel very young as I wore only tuberose scents when a child and adolescent (which I discovered through all the perfume blogs). It means a new lease on life every single day. A new dream.

Wishes and thoughts to you, the Cheese, and the children.

    • March says:

What a wonderful scent memory! To be able to rely on a smell like that to comfort and transport you. A new dream in a bottle sounds lovely. And thanks for your kind wishes.

  • Patty says:

I just caught up on my news, I had no idea. That so sucks, sweetie, but I know if anyone can find an undiscovered exit out, Cheese will definitely find it.

That blush! Now I’m a little intrigued.

  • Therese says:

Aw, honey, more of us spend more holiday time than we would like to admit weepy, blue, even depressed. Me included. It is so hard missing loved ones who aren’t there. It is also hard wishing for more than those present loved ones are able to give.

I also love Jungle Red. It is my current favorite, and I wear it nearly every day. I haven’t found the right blush, but Exhibit A looks, well, bright. I can see that I need to try, albeit carefully.

    • March says:

The only problem I’ve had with Exhibit A is I experimented with overapplying (too practice toning it down) and it’s harder than I thought! It kind of welded itself to my foundation and even powdering over it didn’t work that great. I ended up spackling on some more foundation, which works with my weird MUF stuff but probably wouldn’t with regular foundation. /:)

That Jungle Red. I’m gonna wear some today, with some Femme.

  • Shelley says:

Uff. Da. I had waited a couple of days to post, not sure what to say, other than my thoughts are with you. I wish for you skank and whatever other props you can use to help you get through the tough days, and I hope the tough days are through soon.

In amusements news, I succumbed to your nasty peer pressure and purchased a few nail colors. I believe I will end up keeping that which looks good on the toes, and surrender the rest to teenage son’s girlfriend. I did like the deep chocolate brown I found–just not on me. And I never could find a heather grey that I wanted. The pearl number I ended up with was sheer and wimpy. Back to buffing…

    • March says:

Heh heh. Buying the nail polish. Next you’ll be buying that scary blush, eh? Eh? When :@) fly?

The Skank will see me through. Funny how I’m drawn to really strong fragrance in strong situations.

  • helenviolette says:

    Hello Dear one,

Hope you (and B’s tum) are feeling more at :)>- and hope the Cheese is **== soon.

I am pretty smitten with that Poivre 23 myself (thanks to Lee!)- and could probably be talked into a split if you haven’t already gotten a dozen offers…

    :x, H

    • March says:

      Ooooh, excellent flag deployment!

I’m still waiting to hear back on my split. There’s probably a split going on Wiki splits, I haven’t checked.

  • Esri Rose says:

Bless your heart, you’ve really got a lot to deal with. I hope the Big Cheese gets home, Buckethead recovers, and your Christmas stocking is stuffed full of gift certificates to Sephora.

    • March says:

I talked to him on the phone last night, he managed to call (it’s hard to call) — I think we worked out a strategy and I’m going to keep my fingers crossed the Thai gov’t won’t let this drag on too much longer, this is the start of the tourist season.

  • Aparatchick says:

Ahh, March. This got me: “I need to stop reading the news before bedtime – I have the most terrible dreams, dreams of conflagrations and destruction.” As do I. Those hours between 2 and 5 in the morning? They’re old friends of mine.

So here’s my completely unsolicited advice FWIW: Yes, stop reading/watching the news before bed. The news will still be there in the morning. When it all starts getting to you, fill your mind with beautiful things. I go to my collection of art books, wildlife photography websites, or perfume blogs. 🙂 Crank up that Ipod and listen to your favorite songs. Haul out the Norton’s Anthology of Poetry from your college days (you can always find something sublime to read there). Whatever works.

Back on topic (sort of), note to self: must find Misbehaving Mistress!

    • March says:

I saw a brand new display of the Barielle on the shelf yesterday — btw it’s on the shelf, not on a wall display. The orange one doesn’t look right with my skin but it’s a pretty, unusual color, and the green one’s nice too.

  • GalileosDaughter says:

    March,
It truly does seem darkest before the dawn. Praying that your husband returns home safely and that your little one gets well and stay well.

Don’t try to juggle. Drop all the nonessential stuff and concentrate on what matters.

    Best wishes,
    Anna

  • Musette says:

    March,

I think it’s time for El Q to find another geographical interest – say, Arkansas?:-? Or he can come on over to my exotic locale, where folks ride their horses down the street and argue about whether it’s better to shoot deer drunk or sober (they do eat what they kill so I can work with them on that part, though firearms and alcohol combo makes me very nervous – and apparently for several hard-drinkin’ folks, they cannot shoot while sober???).

    Glad for the horse-poop, tho!!!

But he’ll be okay! And he’ll be home soon! I have a friend who travels to Mumbai on business on a regular basis. So glad he wasn’t there and am so saddened that others were caught up in that madness.

Vintage Femme – well, you know how I feel about current Femme and my attempts to get with the program on the vintage – they are so different! V Femme is a snarly thing (good snarly). I can see scaring the petunias off somebody, were I to be in a ‘mood’ and wear that!:o

Hope BucketH is doing better. I’ve been shampooing carpets for 3 days now. Biiiig dog. Baaaaad tummy.

    xo >-)

    • March says:

Ugh. I hope the … dog situation in your house is better. At least mine can make it to the bathroom… he called last night and we talked for almost half an hour – I had some business questions I needed answered and the rest was chitchat and strategy. I think he’s figured out how to get ahold of some cash, so at least he won’t be begging in the street. But we’ve explored the options and he’s hunkered down for the duration. Considering the $$$ this is costing Thailand I cannot believe they’ll let it drag on forever.

PS We have so many vermin/deer here I could take out 3 or 5 bucks a day with my car.

  • kathleen says:

I know how difficult it can be when they are off someplace dangerous and you are at home, out of touch. It is even harder for you, as you have the wee bairns, and can’t drown your fears in something a little stronger than vintage Femme 😉

Sending extra prayers for the Cheese’s safety and your peace of mind

    • March says:

Thanks. Really, compared to the poor folks in Mumbai it’s nothing, but I still want him home. He’s been emailing – I guess other people are stuck in super-expensive places like Tokyo waiting for the go-ahead, spending $$$$ they weren’t anticipating. On the other hand, most of those folks are presumably tourists who can just give up and go back home if they want to, although then they’re probably forfeiting their vacation time/cost unless they bought travel insurance that covers civil unrest, which a lot of them don’t.

  • Debbie says:

My husband was barely made it out of a bad situation overseas right before the airport closed. He couldn’t get on a US plane, so he asked the Brits and got out that way. I hope your husband’s company has a good security wing that teaches them how to behave in situations like this….as long as he follows their guidelines, it will be fine. I wish I could take away your nightmares.

On to fragrance….I wish I could get that much skank from Femme!

    • March says:

Well, unfortunately my husband doesn’t have a company — except the company of the people standing next to him in the same boat. 😉 He’s there on his own. He’s a pretty resourceful cheese, though, so if for instance a plane takes off for somewhere and there are 5 extra seats, he’s likely to be in one of them.

I think there’s Femme and there’s Femme. Some of my Bal samples are much skankier than others. In fact one of the skankiest is an EDC that you’d think would barely register.

  • gina says:

March, you are always and forever welcome to ask me anything! I’m so happy to give any advice I can. Now, I’m truly intrigued with Exhibit A and will add it to my kit! I think it will look good on many different skin tones and shades, so I’m excited about it. Sorry Strada wasn’t it for you. Try Nars “Zen”. It’s a nice little neutral, on the warm side.

I’m absolutely intrigued with Poivre 23!!! Would go in for a sample, most definitely. I wonder if we could get a few people in on that? I am absolutely mad about anything incense!

    • March says:

Hah! You dropped by! I think you should check out the NARS Exhibit A only because it’s so wild, and I was expecting more “freakshow” low ratings on MUA, and they weren’t there. Lots of women of color, though, talking about what a godsend it is. So there is I guess a small area of makeup overlap… I’m going to retry the Strada. It’s funny — unlike you (hey, it’s your job) or a lot of makeup junkies, I don’t want 15 red lippies or 6 neutral blushes. I try stuff until I find one or two I love and that’s it, on to something else. I enjoy playing with them but don’t want to *own* all of them. That said, of course there’s room in my life for more than one color. I have probably 5 or 6 pinks/peaches. Testing these neutrals is reminding me why I don’t have one yet :d — they tend to go slightly orange on me, which is warm and (really) not the end of the world. I bet to a lot of women, clearly to the SAs, it looks fine. But I don’t like it.

  • Eileen says:

Sending good vibes for the Cheese — I hope his wait is uneventful and boring for him, and his trip home quick and safe.

I’ve been on an incense kick lately and should try Poivre 23, too (along with the 4,000 other incense-y fragrances I’ve tried recently! 😮 )

    • March says:

There are a *lot* of incense frags. But I’m always convincing myself that X is just different enough from Y…. no such thing as too many incense frags in my world. 😉

  • Louise says:

What a treat to find you here this evening >:d< I've got multiple digits crossed for The Cheese's quick and safe return [-o< I caught a touch of the melancholy yesterday as well, fended it off for a while with a spritz of Spezie de Medici (the Pomander effect), but went home early to huddle in. It was loads of fun playing with the lipstick toys with you :d/ I did the Black Friday shopping thing today-got the NorthFace coat at a reasonable price after arguing with Bloomies SAs #-o -they insisted they needn't mark down their merchandise because "their clientele" don't need bargains-hah l-)! And, got a gift card-and spent it on that BB blush we both liked so well 8-| Happy, peaceful weekend to all.

    • March says:

Hey, the Pomander Effect is one of winter’s most comforting scents… no fricking WAY. You got Bloomies to *give* you a discount on a not-marked-down item? Without the use of a stun gun or hypnosis? Woman. ^:)^ Oh, look at that, I always wanted to use that one.

Glad you got the blush, it was so pretty on you.

  • sybil says:

I am crossing my fingers for the Cheese, Buckethead, and all the rest of you…but I am so glad you found some consolation. You referenced girding yourself above, and that is so often why I wear perfume…holds me together. Femme would have gotten me exiled to the porch, though! I’ve been reading your lipstick posts w/ interest, because I still am not there yet w/ red lips. I’ve edged my way over to a slightly darker tone than my natural lip lately, though, so maybe I’ll get there. Tried some sheer black stuff which is supposed to be trendy right now. Gaah! Viola (the 15 y.o.) told me my lips looked like they were rotting off my face. She was right…

    • March says:

That black stuff is silly. I have yet to see a photo, even a high-fashion photo, where it looked good. And do they all email each other to set this stuff up? Several makeup lines had the black goop this fall. My advice is to stay away from trendy (you should see me in a truly “nude” lip, I look dead, or at least extremely ill.) Glad to hear you’re trying a different color.

  • sweetlife says:

:x>:d<@};- I cannot tell you how much I hate the hours between two and four. At the risk of offering advice when what's needed is a listening ear, here are two things that help me: a little ecstatic poetry right before bed, Rumi is my go-to, and the right Chinese herbs from my acupuncturist. Five years ago I would have died laughing while writing the phrase "my acupuncturist," but there it is... It works. You have totally emboldened me in my lipstick experiments. I went to Turkey dinner yesterday with red lips. No one said a word./:)

    • March says:

That’s very funny. Both those things were on my mind today, sort of. First, I decided I needed to dig up some fine inspirational poetry before bedtime, to get my head and heart in the right place, so … great minds thinking alike.

Second, between Thanksgiving and the (full-meal-loving) spouse being gone, my dietary habits have gotten a little sloppy. I feed the kids but am perfectly capable of having cookies and ginger tea for dinner. /:) I’m still a card-carrying Former Resident of Santa Fe, and would never laugh at your acupuncturist. I draw the line somewhere around drinking the “healing” arsenic-laced waters…

Yay red lips! What color did you wear? I swear I think I’ve walked around for the better part of a month with a permanent clown outline outside my lipline from all the red lips I’ve tried.

      • sweetlife says:

OK, I went and looked to see the names of the colors — I’ve been using this funny little sample card of Kiss Kiss Guerlain stuff that came with four tiny pots of lip stuff and an eensy beensy brush. I’ve been layering “Cherry Shine” with “Exces de Rouge” for a sheer, warm red — pretty close to fuschia, which is fine by me. For Thanksgiving I did the blot-with-powder-and-layer thing to see if I could manage to keep it on for more than ten minutes of eating and it was pretty good…

  • Kristy Victoria says:

Hope your husband is able to make it home safe!

Wanna hear the crazy thing about Crosswires? It looks great on pale-faced, grey-eyed, blue-haired me! 😮 I was shocked.

    • March says:

Well, there you have it. And it looks great on Louise, who is much warmer-toned than I am. It doesn’t look like we’re wearing the same lipstick (I think it’s more nude-looking on her?) but darn pretty on both of us. And I find that even more interesting, including you, because it’s NOT a YLBB shade — we’re clearly wearing some sort of lipstick.

  • lunarose says:

oh the holidays…….i don’t know, for a certain segment of the population it’s just like they never want to admit that some parts of life are just rotten and hard to get through, and especially when it’s the holidays there’s always supposed to be ‘a bright side’. on the opposite side of the spectrum, but just as draining, there’s the ‘gloom fans’ who drool over every whiff of unhappiness. that’s where ‘putting on your game face’ or ‘game smell’ can help a person go through being around all the people you have to be around without it being overly trying. like cait said above, it’s about your relationship to yourself and how much and what power you want to give to other people and to circumstances. so choices about scent, makeup, dress, etc. can be a way we talk to ourselves about who we want to be in a situation.

hopefully the above made some sort of sense – and ITA about the sephora lighting! am going through menopause. fortunately the main symptoms are 1) lack of periods and 2) none of my tried and true lipsticks look GOOD anymore. they look okay, but not GOOD. a couple of SAs at sephora have been incredibly helpful and i’ve at least found one (laura mercier pomegranate). i don’t know, to me when you put on the good ones, your skin clears, your teeth look whiter and your eye color pops. to me those are the minimum guidelines for lippies worth buying for everyday. if it’s just settin’ there on your mouth without significantly making you look IMPROVED, what’s the point? anyway, thanks for giving me a place to rant on my wayward philosophies and stay true to you!

    • March says:

I’m a big fan of the game face. People who use formal holidays to display all their pathologies, particularly in public venues… erm, no thanks. I’ve apparently been cast in the adult role (even if incorrectly) and I’m going to do my best to fill those wicked pumps. Pour me another bloody mary while you’re at it. 🙂

Perfume is also about power and distance isn’t it? Armoring ourselves. We could do a whole post on that.

No, you’re right. Your face should light up. My sin is I hold onto the colors I find interesting and/or beautiful, even if they are not those things on me. :”>

      • lunarose says:

well, it’s not a sin to hold onto those wild colors – after all, i just had a big change of what colors look ‘right’ myself, so there i’ve just provided the perfect justification for hanging onto those ones. plus, you never know when you’ll find one is perfect for a friend, or with a certain outfit.

and some are just fun to look at as colors. no sin whatsoever.

“…I’ve apparently been cast in the adult role (even if incorrectly)…” eerie how that happens, isn’t it?:-s

  • Cait says:

that was meant to read Black Friday. Blame it on post turkey lunch fuzziness.

    • March says:

Yeah, include me in the tryptophan daze… sweet potato pie and stuffing doesn’t exactly perk me up either.

I was going to make it an official Buy-Nothing Day, but bought stuff on eBay instead. Uh, does that count? 🙂

  • Cait says:

    Dear March,
I’m thinking strong thoughts to get your love home. I can completely relate to your motivation for wearing the vintage Femme yesterday. It’s the same way I apply perfume before a trial. It’s kind of a mix between armor to repel one’s opponents and a joke we have with ourselves. Hey, at least you weren’t trampled on Black Thursday! And you are cheering and distracting people like me all over creation with your post. Lots of love to you. Cait

    • March says:

It was armor. Weird. I needed to … gird myself. I wanted to smell strong but not sweaty (you know, for a change.) 😉 It was exactly the right choice. Of course they’re all pretty used to me smelling peculiar by now.

  • rosarita says:

Man, I wish I had the ability to :-ss and the Cheese would be home, Buckethead’s tummy would settle, the economy would right itself (because why not dream big). I’m glad Femme got you through; she’s a pistol, that one. Your red lipstick search got me to the MAC website, where I ordered the darkest Cremesheen, bcs my quest has been for a deep, dark berry shade. Happy to report that it’s love. I’ve also been trying to learn eyeliner application, and it IS getting better, although I can very easily look like this guy b-(. Not a great look, but not :o) either. Hope all these emoticons behave…:x

    • March says:

Giggling, because I see finger-biting guy up there and am trying to guess which emoticon it’s supposed to be — winking guy? Do we have a wishing guy? 😕 Wait — whistling guy?

Oh, so happy for you and your MAC! I think they’re excellent quality for the money. And I’m still getting coached on the gel eyeliner — it’s a really great look if I’m precise enough.

      • rosarita says:

Omg, I obviously don’t speak emoticon! I honestly did not get that guy is biting his nails – I thought it was a magic-inducing nose wiggle a la Samantha Stevens on the old Bewitched tv show. 8-| So, it’s the right guy, just the wrong, um, interpretation. I feel like such a l-) definitely time to get some |-). >:d< to all......:-j
