Harvey Prince Giveaway!

The nice people at Harvey Prince gave us their Holiday Gift Set to do a giveaway on to some lucky commenters. I thought about giving it away as a group set, but decided since there are six of them, it would be more fun to have six winners.  Six commenters on today’s post will be drawn at random and get one of the bottles.

These are 8.8 ml mini roll-ons of each of the following:

  • Ageless: The scent that defies age. Crisp, inviting notes of pink grapefruit, pomegranate, luscious mango.
  • Eau Flirt: The magical scent that flirts for you. Its warm, tempting notes of pumpkin pie & lavender are irresistible.
  • Eau Fling: Light, casual, charming. Playful notes of pumpkin, jasmine, raspberry, black currant.
  • Coupling: For making him all yours. Aromatic cinnamon, nutmeg, enchanting gardenia, fresh cucumber.
  • Eau de Lite: The diet perfume. Crave-resistant rosemary, peppermint, green apple, sandalwood, fennel.
  • Eau de Creme: The rush of your favorite scoop. Pink passion fruit, rum raisin, vanilla, dark chocolate.

I didn’t sample any of these because they are roll-ons, and I didn’t want to muck up what would be given to six of you with using it on me, that just seemed, well, wrong somehow.  Not that there’s anything wrong with my skin, but I broke my arm when I was in 1st grade, and they had to rebreak it midway into healing because it didn’t set right, and I all too well remember the smell of dead skin under that cast that didn’t get sloughed off through washing. I mean, ew, I’ve a freak about dead skin since then.  The scars of scent that are left on you in childhood.

But a quick sniff by uncapping them, they are light and seem really fresh and fun.  According to their material, they use no animal testing, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, benzene, GMOs, or triclosan.  A plus for sure.
But as I’m busying around today, trying to get some pressing things done and make it in time for the “Bring It On” musical tonight (yesterday when I was writing this), we’ll just have to talk about other things since my mind is completely blowing off in 3,000 different directions.  And I am coming up completely blank!  So how about a nice simple, what perfume is in constant rotation for you these days? Mine is, surprisingly, that Angel Taste of Fragrance. Even more weird when I hate Angel. I have to do a whole post sometime on how to wear Angel for people who hate Angel, or did I already do that?

  • Joanne says:

I’ve heard so much about Eau Flirt…it sounds like the perfume I’ve been searching up and down for! Must smell amazing.
Eau de Creme sounds delicious too…I wish these perfumes were sold somewhere in New York!

  • tika says:

Haven’t been wearing anything at all, but the Ageless sounds delightful!

  • Amy K says:

Sweet Redemption has gotten me through some cold, snowy days lately. Eau de Creme sounds yummy!

  • Thalia says:

“the diet perfume”? What a bizarre concept. Still, I’d like to try these!

I’ve been wearing a lot of Theorema — so lovely, that scent. I got the Ineke sample set for Christmas, and I’ve been trotting those out a lot as well. Evening Edged in Gold is wonderful!

  • Maureen says:

Heavy rotation-Coco, Miriam(sample almost finished), Chanel #19 Poudre (gift from BF).

Would like to try Eau Flirt or Coupling…thanks for the draw.

  • Sujaan says:

I would like to try Eau Flirt. I tried Ageless and sadly it just didn’t work on me, nor do I look any younger! Lol
Lately I’ve been wearing Chantecaille Kalimantan. Though only because I had just recently found Vanilia by L’Artisan, fell madly in love, then found out it was discontinued!! Oh no! So, Kalimantan is pacifying me, but like a second class, albeit expenisve, mistress. ?

  • Holly F. says:

L’eau de Kasaneka is my heavy rotation choice right now. Also, Alahine! They both seem to suit the mood, for me lately. I’ve been curious about Eau Flirt, and never miss a chance to check out how a fragrance does pumpkin.

  • Irina says:

heavy rotation-Prada Candy, it’s cold and I need the benzoin
last very nice sample: Bottega Veneta which I like/love- do not laugh: where I live it’s impossible to find and I had to buy a sample in order to know what people talk about
    thanks for the draw

  • Dee says:

This is so nice of you! I’d love to finally try one of these out – everyone keeps raving about them and I’d like to switch things up from my usual Prada Intense :)

  • Karen says:

Funny, I went through 2 bottled of Angel, back in the day. I recently gave it a visit at the perfume counter…kinda miss it a little. I don’t like the variations on Angel. A fresher, similar perfume is Nirmala by Molinard.

  • Susan says:

Lately I’m on a big tuberose kick – I can’t stop trying new ones!

    Thanks for the draw!!

  • Alice C says:

Wearing Dior’s Mitzah frequently since I got a nice decant for Christmas! Hope the draw is still open, I’d love to try several of these…Coupling and Eau Flirt sound very interesting! Thanks for the chance.:)

  • Jayne58 says:

I have my cold weather beauties on rotation – Coco parfum, Theo Fennell, Jubilation 25, Rochas Femme and a rather lovely Chypre thing called Guadalajara that I bought from a weird little perfumery in Antwerp (In-Fine). All warm, rich and complex.

  • Flora says:

I can’t get off the Natori-go-round these days, nor do I want to! I love that juice. Badgley Mischka gets a lot of wear too. It’s been too warm and wet most days where I live to get out the heavy winter artillery ambers and Orientals.

I would love to be entered in the draw, thank you! :-)

  • FragrantWitch says:

Currently wearing Chaos a lot, as well as A Taste of Heaven (my sample is nearly gone…sob) and Costume National 21. Thanks for the draw- Coupling and Eau Flirt sound interesting!

  • Lisa S. says:

Oh God I meant to say Eau Flirt, Eau FLING and Eau De Creme. Damn these Hands!!!!

  • Claudia says:

I’ve been into the vanillas lately. Thanks for the draw! :-)

  • Lisa S. says:

Eau Flirt and Eau Flirt and Eau De Creme sound gorgeous to me. I’m not really reaching for anything in particular lately. I’m wearing L’Artisan Nuit De Tubereuse today. Yesterday I wore Vincent Camuto (won it online)It’s not something I usually go for, but it’s not to bad. Day before I wore Honey and The Moon from Tokyo Milk. So I guess I’m Miss Eclectic. :0)

  • AnnieA says:

Hmm, haven’t heard of this line before…

  • Breanne says:

I like Fantasy by Britney Spears

  • sybil says:

I’m heavily into Montblanc Femme Individuelle, Bvlgari Black and Encre Noir. All good stuff for this time of year, but I’m not picky about when I wear them.

  • Ninara Poll says:

The scent most in rotation for me? Right now, no perfume, just original Nivea cream, as my skin’s going nuts with the cold-warm-cold spells of weather we’re having where I live. I enjoy the scent of it tremendously, it reminds me of Christmases with my relatives :)

    NP

  • mals86 says:

Please don’t enter me in the draw as I’ve tried the Harvey Prince fragrances, thanks to their nice PR gal, Elle. ( FWIW, I liked Eau Fling and Coupling, found Ageless and Eau Flirt pleasant but uncompelling, and absolutely hated Eau de Lite and Eau de Creme.)

Have been sampling a lot of things recently, but Memoir Woman remains the “Wow, this is great – but why do I like it? It’s So Not Me!” scent I keep returning to. Other than Memoir, anything tuberose is keeping me happy.

  • Lisa D says:

Lann-Ael and Douce Amere have been the go-to scents for the past few weeks; I’m in a sweet and sugary phase, I guess. Never thought I’d want to smell like fairy dust or orange creamsicle, but there you go.

  • samberg says:

Me and I Love Les Carottes have been inseperable through sunny winter days.

  • Eric says:

I just love Ralph Lauren eau de cologne. Smells fresh and manly.

  • Doris says:

I am not very perfume, I know. really weird for a woman, but I love me some Victoria’s secret anything smelling vanilla!

  • Cindi says:

I adore fragrance and put it on daily! Actually,
I feel naked without smelling great…
Currently, I use Tresor, Romance and Princess.
    Many thanks, Cindi

  • LindaB says:

Coco, Black Cashmere, Pacifica Spanish Amber and Tibetan Mountain Temple are in full swing around these parts! It is FREEZING in NJ and I need these warm, comforting gals to snuggle up with.

Please enter me in the draw…never heard of this line.

  • Teri says:

I recently scored a vintage bottle of Bellodgia on the ‘bay and keep going back to it every couple of days. At this rate, I’ll blow through it in no time, then be sad it’s gone, but oh well. I love carnations and I love spicy scents in cold weather, so it’s been the perfect scent storm for me this January.

  • bookhouseshell says:

I’ve been revisiting frags I tried a year ago that I loved. Strangely, my opinion has changed slightly to pretty drastically. This draw sounds fun!

  • jen says:

I got a sample of flowerbomb; it lasts two days so I dont need to reaply often!

  • Musette says:

No draw for me – just stopping by to say hey! My perfume choices have been crazy, most limited to what I can smell – Iris Poudre body cream is a clear fave right now….:-?…ditto Epic body cream and Carnal Flower….you guessed it…BODY CREAM…

what’s with the body cream? Seems it slickers the fragrance around better for me, makes it easier to smell.

    xo >-)

    • Joanna says:

I wonder if you could smell that new Opus Oils scent?

      • Musette says:

a couple of folks asked me that when I first posted….dunno..:-? the strangest things flicker in and out…wore Portrait of a Lady creme day before – VERY present. But can’t smell the perfume as easily. Wearing new Ubar today – very faint, like it’s been diluted in water… it almost smells like an aftershave..weird

        xo >-)

    • Ann says:

So happy you found some things that you can easily sniff!

  • GalileosDaughter says:

Oh I’ll bite and enter the contest.

On my rotation lately has been Prada L’Eau Ambree.

  • Cheryl says:

I’d like to hear about angel for nonangels too. I had a quick sniff of the gout concept and was “attracted”. Lately been wearing FM Musc Ravageur and Givenchy’s Organza Indecence…..both foodie spice fests..

  • Janet in California says:

OJ Woman and Bottega Veneta seem to be the most common with SDV before bed.

  • Patty says:

Lately it’s been Neil Morris’ Scrumptious. It smells like its name and is one of those anytime, always-appropriate fragrances.

  • maggiecat says:

Weather here can’t quite make up its mind – 70’s one day, 30’s the next. In my rotation are Ormonde Jayne Woman (cold days) and Tocca Bianca (warmer ones).

  • Homura-chan says:

How funny, I hate Angel and I wound up liking and wearing Angel Taste of Fragrance too — it’s sooo good, until it turns into plain Angel the next day on your clothes. They should make a Febreze for department-store patchouli drydown.

SDV is in high rotation. Tasty.

  • Dana says:

These sound interesting. Very cold here in Ohio and no sun (of course), so I usually am drawn to my spicy and somewhat gourmand fragrances. I made a blind purchase of Roberto Cavalli Oro last year and have worn it many times and have gotten compliments on it. I just saw a lonely bottle at my Marshall’s last week.

  • Masha says:

Eau Fling sounds like a lot of fun! These days, I’m a Mugler girl, too. Mostly Alien Liqueur de Parfum, and the Chocolate Angel, which I love to wear at night, gives me good dreams. I bought the latter unsniffed, but am so happy I did! It’s my favorite of the Angel family. Even my DH, who loathes Angel, likes this one. The new Alien with caramel is lovely, too, though much lighter than the Angel, and I haven’t tried the chutney Womanity.

    • Lisa D says:

      Masha:

I have the Angel Liqueur de Parfum, and would love to try the Alien LdP; when Swapmania comes around, could we swap samples?

  • dremybluz says:

Unfortunately I am a wear something different every day person. Please enter me in the draw.

  • pam says:

I’ve been using Joy a bit lately (just bought a small bottle) and also Chamade. I’m usually such an oriental/spice person, so what’s going on here?

Thanks for the draw. Some of them sound lovely, and the names are cute.

  • cynthia says:

Seeing as how I’m probably the oldest person that reads your blog, I’ll put a plug in for Ageless! Seriously, it sounds nice to me. I have been wearing L’Artisan Poivre Piquant lately, I think because it’s kind of mindless, nice and inoffensive and I’ve been stressed, so don’t want to think too much about what perfume I’m spraying.

  • Meg says:

I don’t need to be entered into the draw, but wanted to add my ascent for the angel for non-angel wearers post!

I’ve been in a total patch phase, it seems to be the only thing that can stand up to the cold. Heavy rotation: Coromandel, Prada Amber, Tabu.

    • Jennifer says:

MMMMMMMMmmm Tabu! I may have to pop some on (after some sorting of my fume wardrobe prior to the Swapmania-Tabu is so enveloping that it would be a bit hard to evaluate anything else!)

  • Olfacta says:

It’s cold, I’m ultra-busy and undergoing the general harrassment of event planning, so I’ve worn my Amouage Lyric for Women twice this week.

  • rosarita says:

Thanks for the draw – these sound fun.

I’m in a patchouli phase at the moment and have been esp enjoying Prada Intense. I’ve had a sizey decant lying around for yrs and just found it not long ago. Very nice.

  • Antje says:

I have been layering Candy with Passage d’Enfer to give it more sniff time. Its pleasant enough but did not blow me away on its own.
I will put on some Angel today thanks to your post and wish I had samples of all the flankers. They do seem like good ideas, they just never made it to a top spot on my to try list.
Flirt, Coupling or Creme sound good!

  • Sherri M. says:

Keiko Mecheri, Confetto, Bois d’Armenie, Cuir Beluga, SDV and all my beautiful Guerlains I have fallen back in love with! (I even wore LPRN 2, which I had bought blind and was disappointed in, yesterday and was surprised how nice it was (dh even loved it). I thought it very underwhelming the first several times and have not touched it for over a year, but maybe it wasn’t such a bad purchase after all!

  • ashlin says:

:)>- if i won i would cry please enter me

  • Alica says:

Ahem, it would be nice to get one of them – any ;-) Thank you!

  • hongkongmom says:

thats funny…i have been going to get a few sprays from the store often enough, consistently….and I don’t like angel either…somehow, i just wont buy it! Fracas has been getting used a lot, and am using up my samples of lartisan original tuberuese…i need to find a FB! No need to enter me…am trying to enjoy what i have :-)

    • Masha says:

What was the original L’Artisan Tubereuse like? I don’t care for the new one, it’s bitter on me.

      • mals86 says:

Well, I didn’t like it much (and I usually love tuberose): seemed halfway between buttery and chemical to me, and flat. For a plain-ol’ tuberose fragrance, I much preferred DSH Tubereuse or Il Profumo Eclair di Tubereuse. Or Fracas.

But you never know – it might suit you, if you can find it. It’s discontinued, I think.

I’m still on the fence re: Nuit de Tubereuse, too; there’s a mildewy note in it I don’t like at all.

  • sunnlitt says:

We moved last week and I am doing more rushing around than wearing scent. Sad.
But, I do like the new house!
I would love to try Ageless–I am in my 50s and feeling old as the hills. Probably need more sleep…
    thanks for the drawing.

  • Lindaloo says:

Champagne de Bois and Samsara have been getting the most frequent wear. I love waking up on these dark mornings to the sandalwood goodness of Samsara’s far drydown still on my skin 12 – 14 hours after the last application.
But now today, when the temperature has actually dropped to -10C (14F for all you Americans) plus a windchill, I have started digging through samples for anything and everything really spicy while wrapped in the smoky, leathery warmth of PureDistance M.

For the Harvey Prince, although experiments suggest that pumpkin pie spices and lavender of Eau Flirt are the ideal combo to get a man’s blood pumping (literally), I would choose Ageless. Not because I believe in the experiments that suggest a women is perceived as 7 or so years younger when wearing a grapefruit scent, but because it’s the combination of notes that is most appealing and likely to work on me.
If I had to have a second choice, it would be Eau de Lite to sniff when I got a food craving rather than to wear.

Do write the post on how to wear Angel for people who hate Angel. I’ve only ever worn dabs from a sample at home.

    • Masha says:

If you like the concept but the reality is overwhelming, try a little of the lotion, or the perfumed powder. That’s it. Gives a very mild Angel experience!

  • Cheryl says:

Those perfumes sound so tempting! Eau flirt sounds particularly interesting.

  • Jennifer says:

Roberto Cavalli’s Oro has been in heavy rotation -so much so that it stayed on a turtleneck even through the wash!
I just discovered an interesting layering -Samsara edt and then 6 hours later top it with Avignon.

    • rosarita says:

I love Oro, so nice to see it mentioned! I bought a bottle for nothing at TJMaxx last year during a winter cabin fever outing. I think it smells very similar to L’Artisan Poivre Piquant.

      • Jennifer says:

Haven’t sniffed the L’Artisan yet.To me Oro smells quite a bit like Organza Indecense(cannot spell anything today-grr! Oh well y’all know what I mean -and technically I’m still on my first cup of coffee this A.M.( three more corrected typos eeekkk!)

  • Cheesegan says:

I’ve been wearing Lalique Encre Noire and Fendi a lot. It’s cold where I’m at and it’s nice to wear something strong and invigorating.

    • Lisa D says:

I discovered Encre Noire a couple of months ago, and I’ve become a fan. So good, so vetiver and so inexpensive. And yes, invigorating, I agree!

  • Suzy Q says:

During the last couple of months the two that are in heaviest rotation are Coromandel and Cruel Gardenia. Bois de Paradis is getting a lot of action.

I’m curious about Eau Flirt. It could be either really great… or really awful.

  • Joanna says:

I seem to always be reaching for either Smell Bent’s Prairie Nymph, BPAL’s Mictecacihuatl or L’Heure Bleue from Guerlain these past few months. I just found the BPAL Madness Fan Forum this past week and am hopelessly sucked into it,(It’s like a never ending Swapmania for BPAL scents.)
I think Coupling sounds interesting. It sounds like autumn and spring funneled into a scent.
