Hello the POSSE!

Portia from AustralianPerfumeJunkies in the house!! Super excellent to be back with you again today on this glorious pre Black Friday Thursday. I know you are all gearing up for the crazy spend tomorrow. Hopefully your Thanksgiving was a happy affair but if it was completely shite then a frag purchase will fill the void, even watching our silly Frederic Malle LIVE Video Sniff  should help put a smile back on your dial.

Frederic Malle LIVE Video Sniff #1

The Frederic Malle line is so extensive that we felt another LIVE Video Sniff dedicated to one of the world’s foremost niche innovators was not only possible but a decided necessity. Yoiu will only learn the tip of the iceberg with us though because to really appreciate the Frederic Malle extravaganza they need to be on your skin.

As you know EmmaKate and I are enthusiasts, we are untrained in perfumery other than years of loving, collecting, reading about and talking frags. What we offer in this video is a fun and frivolous whirl through a few Frederic Malle creations. Please join us on our romp.

MeccaCosmetica has a great range of FrdericMalle
SurrenderToChance does samples and decants

What is your favourite Malle and why?
If you loved this, why not drop on over to AustralianPerfumeJunkies and see what madness is happening there too.
Until I see you next week, love, Love, LOVE!

Frederic Malle LIVE Video Sniff #1 with EmmaKate & Portia

  • Love your videos, Portia! I haven’t tried many Malles yet. I’ve only tried Noir Epices, which I didn’t like, and Musc Ravageur, which I love. He is a sexy beast, that one. I’m getting samples of Parfum de Therese and Portrait of a Lady soon from last weekend’s swap so I’m excited to try those.

I love Lipstick Rose. It feels so retro, raspberry, powdery, 1940s pinup – just makes me smile. For some reason, it reminds me of a warm spring day (think that is the raspberry)! I will be getting the Pear + Olive perfume from hubby this year for Xmas – thanks for pointing me towards Slumberhouse perfumes!

  • Barbara says:

    Portia,
I’ll be in the minority here and pick L’Eau d’Hiver as my favorite Malle. It is one of my favorite comfort scents.

  • Martha says:

    Dear Portia –

I adore your video sniffs. Will be buying some samples of F. Malle soon.

    Thanks!

  • Ann says:

Hey, Portia! Great video — and you just crack me up (“I can barely speak Australian” — too funny!). I wore Carnal Flower today for our family Thanksgiving get-together and got several compliments on it, which was surprising, because that has rarely, if ever, happened. (Of course, I only wear one spritz of anything and then just lightly dab that wrist on a few pulse points, so what do I expect?) Can’t do the FM vetiver, but must revisit PdT. Thanks!

    • Portia says:

      Hiya Ann,
I’m so glad you enjoy the LIVCE Video Sniffs. they are equally fun to bring to you.
Next time go CER AY ZEE with the spritzes. see what happens. He He

I find most of the FMs really interesting, and LPdT is my favorite. If I were more about smelling womanly and less about constantly exploring the art of perfume, I would wear it every day. I also wish I were near a place to sniff his ambient fragrance products – they sound wonderful!

And I agree with Musette – especially great look today, Portia, and thank also to Emma Kate. xxoo

    • Portia says:

      Hey nozknoz,
I often wonder what it would feel like to be a one fragrance person again. NAAH, can’t.
Two votes for PdT. I better put my votes in Musc Ravageur and Geranium Pour Monsieur are the FB I have because I couldn’t live without them. I’m glad I don’t know where to get the home stuff, I’d be broke,

  • Musette says:

Disqus is feeling kinda crabby today – it has bounced me, not once – but TWICE! Trying again. Trying to say this: I love PdTherese almost as much as I love Diorella (the beauty he did for the masses). Glad you got the ‘sticks’. I do, too! I love your coat. I love your whole look! I love you!

    • Portia says:

      Hey Musette,
I love PdT too. That crackly ole rose bush and melon, yes please. A bit like me, starts out thorny ends up sweet. He He.
And I love you too Musette,
      Happy thanksgiving.

I have a little dabber decant of En Passant and I am waiting on a 2ml decant spray of Musc Ravageur to arraive in the mail. I remember sniffing En Passant in passing once or twice but really can’t remember what it smells like. I’ll have to wait until this recently acquired cold clears up before I test anything new.

    • Portia says:

En Passant is GORGEOUS! SandStorm936. It was my very first Frederic Malle before I knew how famous and desirable his stuff is. Incense and dark underground tunnels if I remember rightly. Musc Ravageur is excellent, sexy and mannishly naughty. In your honour I just spritzed over No 5 and a barbershop, I smell AWESOME!
      Get well.

      • Musette says:

I love PdTherese. It’s a kissing cousin to my beloved Diorella, but a totally discrete scent (of course – M. Roudnitska’s genius didn’t allow for ‘clones’ (my opinion, anyway).

Honey, I want that coat you’re wearing – you always look SO fabulous!
