March Perfume Sample Fairy Godmother

Esperanza the Perfume Fairy Godmother

Doing this a little early for March because what i had planned for today didn’t show up in time.

Hey, it is time again for the Perfume Sample Fairy Godmother for March 2015.     So here’s how Fairy Godmother works – this post will be open for the entire month of March 2015.   I’ll start a new one at the beginning of April 2015.   For those of you new or that need a reminder of how this works – in comments you can list one or two things that you are yearning for and can’t seem to get –  a perfume sample is the easiest wish to grant for me.  Or you can wish for a full bottle, decant, vintage perfume or discontinued perfume you can’t find.  If someone has it and can help you out, they can reply to you in comments and then you can arrange to go offline through e-mail to work things out.

Please don’t post e-mails in comments unless you spoof them somehow, like this – patty at perfumeposse dawtcawm (spelling the dotcom at the end that way prevents robots from finding it as easily). Caveat Emptor and all that, don’t send people money, check out their references on MUA or Basenotes or the Facebook groups before you send something in a swap, if you wind up doing a swap.  We have some amazing Fairy Godmothers that show up every month, granting wishes right and left. If you’ve been the recipient of some kindness, do give back when you can. I know people have gotten wishes granted, and every month they comb through the posts trying to find one or two people they can help out, and it just makes my heart happy.  If it’s a gift, send away.  I should note that  it’s more likely that a Fairy Godmother will happen along if you are a fairly regular commenter on The Posse and people recognize your name. I’ll sometimes play Perfume Posse Fairy Godmother and go through the list and grant some perfume sample wishes. I’ll pick from ones that nobody has been able to help with – I’ll spin my random.org wheel  – and send them The Precious.

    Hi,

I’m late to this party… Does anyone have a sample of Chanel Cristalle EDP? I’m in U.S. My email is ceci2you at gee mail dot com
    Thanks 🙂

  • Sarah I says:

Wow! This was so early I totally missed it! If it’s not too late Spring Fairies, I would love to get my hands on a little Guerlain “Attrape-coeur/ Guet-apens” creation that i keep reading about! I haven’t been able to find it anywhere, but it sounds fabulous! I’d also like to try “Tea for Two ” by L’Artisan Parfumeur as tea notes sound nifty! My email is: catsmeow fiftyfive (but as the number, and no space) at the hawt male. Thanks! and a grateful thank you to my lovely Fairy last month, Queen Cupcake 🙂

  • Julie L says:

Loving thank you’s to SHARON, BECKY, and PIXEL!

MY FAIRIES ROCK!!!! (I gotta catch my breath, y’all!)….Oh my goodness, this is “pee my pants” too exciting!!

  • shuvanidev says:

Hi perfumies! Kind of a long shot, but wondering if anyone has a tiny smidge of Prada no.7 Violette or Stephen Jones for me to try (so I can then kick myself for smelling them in the first place :)) Thank you! Email is: shuvanidev at yahoo dawt com

Wow you started early for March. This month I would love some help in find a bit of Nude Moderne from AetherArtsPerfume. 🙂

    Hello Fairies!

After stumbling across this blog with a google search result for “help me choose a new perfume” I am loving what I am reading! This fairy godmother thread is such a fun concept, I thought why not try it?

My wish is to have either a lovely bulk of samples to test, or a couple really narrowed in samples to try. I’m looking for some new scents to take me into this new phase in life. I just had my 27th birthday and I am 5 months pregnant. So I am going to be a mom now, but I dont want to lose my depth, sexiness, or artistic and captivating edge.
My nose is soo sensitive right now and when I went to the perfume counter this weekend alone, it was too much. I spritzed on one scent and went running, migraine headache chasing me. Perhaps one of you lovely godmothers could help a pregnant lady out?

My top perfumes over the last 4 years have been Tocca’s Bridgette, Stella by Stella McCartney, and Rosewood Blackcurrant Cyclamen by Korres (Discontinued! or I would have bought another bottle and stuck with that because I feel good using natural ingredients over parabens! Plus it smelled amazing on me.) When I was younger I wore Very Sexy by Victoria’s Secret and Sensual Amber from Bath and Body Works. Still love the scents but want a more grown up perfume identity. Today I spritzed on some of my mom’s Armani Code for Her (that I gifted her!) and I really liked it, but it didn’t have the staying power that the amberish scents usually do for me.

I’m loving this blog and looking forward to exploring the wild world of perfumes with you!! xx

  • LaDona says:

Hello fairies! I’m late to the game this month…but I will give it a shot. I am desperate to find a bottle of Odori Tabacco. I can’t find it anywhere! If you find you need to get shed of a bottle, or a decant…or anything…I’d kiss your aunt Flo’s Hiney for it. or trade you? ladonah at the gee mail.

    Greetings Fairyfolk,

I’ve got an unusual reverse Fairy offering. I wonder if someone (sorry, but it must be continental US please) is interested? I have a number of teensy tiny samples of vintage fragrances that smell great.

In some cases, there might not even be enough to wear, but you could get the experience of smelling from the vial. In other cases, if you’re a little persistent, you can get at least one wearing out of them.

In any case, they need to be enjoyed ASAP, because soon they will evaporate for good.

This is an approximate list of the scents, to give you an idea, but I need to send them all to one person: Le Dix, Sun Moon Stars, Ode a La Joie, Boucheron, White Linen, Sortilege.

To fill out the package, I’ll try to find some contemporary scents to share with you that you might enjoy. I love that part.

If this intrigues you, please drop me a line at alederberg, the mail that’s cold’s opposite.

  • Julie C. says:

    Hello everyone!

I would like to try some scents with sandalwood as the dominant note. I have tried Serge Luten’s Santal de Mysore and Guerlain Samsara, but would very much like to try others. 😀 Will do my best to fulfill fragrant wishes in return!

  • Amanda says:

Hi! I’m new here, and would like to try Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle. Can anyone help me with this? 😀 I also have a sample of Annick Goutal La Muguet if anyone is interested. It is a really gorgeous lily of the valley soliflore.

  • WhirleyGirl says:

I am new to this site, niche perfumes, and perfumes in general. I have always had maybe 2 perfumes that were just me. Perfectly me. Now, I am nowhere near a Boutique (residing in Southern Oregon). I was a Donna Karan Chaos fan. I have a bottle of the reformulation, but it just doesn’t say “signature” for me like it did when it originally launched. I find myself overwhelmed in the search for a scent….I requested some samples from a place in Los Angeles. Most with notes of lavender. Right now I have Vero Perfumo – Kiki extriant on. I think I’m in love! I am also looking forward to trying the sample of The Beautiful Mind Series, Intelligence & Fantasy as well as 4160 Tuesday, Tarts Knicker Drawer.

I would love to try something honest, sexy, beautiful and unpretentious.

    • AllGirlMafia says:

Chaos is one of my favorites as well. I don’t have many lavender scents or any of the names you mentioned at the end but I do like ‘honest, sexy beautiful and unpretentious’ if you are still looking you can email me at [email protected] and maybe we can see if I have something you’d like : )

  • lauryndb says:

Hello my dears, I would love to try DS Durga Bowmakers, Boston Ivy and Coriander. I am also desperate to find a realistic hyacinth soliflore (not a perfume with a hyacinth note, like Silences — got plenty of those — but something that really smells like a flower) Does such a thing exist?

  • Neva says:

My dear fairies, I hope that some of you are willing to send something over to Europe. I’m very curious about Parfumerie Generale’s Bois Naufrage for a while now, but could not find a sample so far.
My second wish is Tam Dao by Diptyque. Can somebody help me with these?

This is my first fairy godmothering, so here goes. I am lusting for some Teo Cabanal Hegoa and / or Oriza L Legrand samples.
I am found at holloway_fam5 at bellsouth dot netskie
Peppermoon, I have some Aftelier samples for you.
Pixel, I would love, love to try A Wing and a Prayer. She’s on my fav list on etsy.
I have some random Bruno Fazzolari ( but not the narcissus, i don’t have that one) and some Zoology, and Atelier samples too if anyone is interested. 🙂

    • Maya says:

I have been wanting to try Bruno Fazzolari, even if it’s not the narcissus. 😉 I find that if I like one from a house, I often like others. I never heard of Zoology, so I looked it up. They sound a bit odd, but I am curious. I really like Atelier and have already already tried 5 or 6 of them. I have a few I can offer also. I pass samples along fairly quickly when I know they are not for me. I’m at fatima1174 at yahoo dot com.

  • Aaron B. says:

    Hello Fairies!

I know this may be a long shot, but I have a couple fragrances that I would love to try if anyone happens to have a sample on hand. I would love to try Narciso Rodriguez for Him, Van Cleef and Arpels – Midnight in Paris and anything from Aramis! Thank you so much to anyone who could help me out or send something similar to one of these! My email is aaronnbutler93 at yahoo.

    Fairest Fairies!

This month I would like to try anything by Olfactive Studio. And I want to give back to this lovely community, so the first two people who email me at lauralamm at ay oh elle can have testers of the late, great Le Feu d’Issey.

    • Connie says:

I’ve got some Olfactive Studio- I know I at least have Ombre Indigo. And I’d love to try Le Feu d’Issey. Emailing you!

    • Nemo says:

I have Olfactive Studio Lumiere Blanche if you want to try it! I have emailed you. The Le Feu d’Issey sounds amazing too 🙂

      • Eloquaint says:

Connie and Nemo, I’d love those. The samples are yours.

And the samples are now gone, my friends.

    • Neva says:

Hi, I can send a sample of Chambre Noir if you are interested. You can email me at modestyblaise65 in yahooooo dot come

  • Peppermoon says:

Hello lovelies! I’m reading Mandy Aftel’s book, Essence and Alchemy right now, and I’d love to be able to try any of her scents (she makes Aftelier). It would be so nice to be able to “sniff along” as I read, and I haven’t tried any of her creations yet. I know they’re expensive though, so if that’s not possible then I’d love to try some Botrytis (craving honey this winter!).

Probably someone will send goodies your way! (Pixel is sponsoring a give away, hint hint….she knows boatloads about fragrances)
    Hugs!

  • Elizabeth R. says:

Hello all; I was invited by Julie L and am happy to be here. I wouldn’t know what to ask from a Sample Fairy! I lean toward chypre and spice, and away from sugar and blowsy florals. Like, Julie L. I would sprinkle fragrant fairy dust upon anyone who waved her magic wand toward me!

  • Pixel says:

Hello all! Paying it forward — I have a selection of samples from A Wing And A Prayer, would like to send them all to one person. I have: Autumn Whispers, Carmel, Dusk, Jade, Soiree, and Tiare. Any takers?

  • Rina says:

Hi everyone! Still working on the perfume-related art project, so if anyone has random samples no one here would want, let me know. I can PP shipping. Need at least 20-50. Thanks! rjpss at verizon dawt net.

  • Julie L says:

Good morning lovelies! Can’t believe its fairy time again, already! Last month was so much fun! Thank you, everyone! I’m on a slightly vintage kick and would love some Dior, Dune; Cartier Baiser du Dragon; those spicy, cinnamony types if anyone has that to spare:)
As always, reverse fairy fun is a definite with me! Thank you!!

  • Becky says:

Hello, everyone! I have suddenly found myself obsessed with the idea if Alahine by Teo Cabanel. If anyone has a drop, I’d love to give it a try! I hope I have some smellies to send out in return.

Also: has anyone been to the Neiman’s store in Chicago? What’s their perfume department like? I generally hit up Barney’s when I’m in town, but I wondered if there was anywhere else I should be spending my time.

    Thanks!

    • Becky says:

Oh! Schoolmarm80 ATTTT geemale dot calm.

    • Caroline says:

The Chicago N-M has the usual high-end dept store stuff: Tom Ford, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Hermes. etc, plus some Kiehls items. The place I’ve always wanted to go to is Merz Apothecary–there’s one at the Palmer House & another in Lincoln Park.

  • Vanie says:

    Hi fairies!

This month, my wish is for some Dior Hypnotic Poison (I didn’t see why people recommended it to me as a root beer scent, then I realized my sample was from the Eau Sensuelle flanker’s flanker!) and Serges Lutens Daim Blond (I passed my sample along to someone, and now I miss it!).
And I am still longing to try some Bois des Iles extrait.

    Thanks!

Hi! I have been searching for an Amber fragrance ever since I read your Rat Money post. I would really appreciate a sample of Givenchy Ambre Velours or By Kilian Amber Oud. I would love to be chosen, and thank you so much.

    • Julie L says:

Hey, Victoria! It’s not what you requested but I have a “Serge. Lutens, Amber Sultan” you’re welcome to. Maybe I have done other Amber as well, so I’ll dig around.
