Beauty Habit DISCOUNT CODE!!

Hey there Perfume Posse! We are in the middle of the moving house upheaval and still waiting on the benchtops for our kitchen. I know, first world problems but living without a kitchen is pretty annoying. It’s not even ready enough that I can start packing the cupboards, which would help alleviate the mass of stuff in boxes and crates stuffing the walkways and spare room. SHEMOZZLE! just about sums it all up. We are using the one, nearly finished bathroom and it’s all a bit funky.

We had a little trouble with the code earlier ALL FIXED!!

This is what Val had to say on APJ:

Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger:

Rose Irisee Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger FragranticaPhoto Stolen Fragrantica

Rose Iriseé by Jean-Claude Gigodot 2014

Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Top: Bergamot, orange, vermouth
Heart: Almond, rose, iris, ylang-ylang
Base: Woody notes, cedar, patchouli, musk, vanilla, sandalwood

This opens with with a bright burst of Iris. Metallic and smooth. I expected rose. This irisean (?) burst however gives way quite quickly to a lush, velvety rose. It is perfectly lovely. Do not be deceived. It becomes very seductive as it heads into the dry down phase. Patchouli, vanilla, and musk entwine with the rose. Charming with a retro vibe. This is hands down my favourite of today´s three.

Neroli Blanc Intense by Jean-Claude Gigodot 2005

My favourite orange is a Terry´s chocolate one.

Neroli Blanc is a big time fragrance. No hiding your light under a bushel with this. It is thick and syrupy and packs a punch. Laced with jasmine and vanilla, hovering on a rich musky base, it warms you to the bone. Glamourous. Perfect for partying on the yacht dancing the night away. It comes in a serious chunk of glass. It weighs 400 grams, including the perfume. That should give you an idea. Very striking. Check out Bonkers About Perfume take on Neroli Blanc Intense.

What does my shopping list look like? I have a scent mule in the USA I send my stuff to and then we work it out somehow.
Fleur Nocturn by Isabey
Wit by Parfums DelRae
Ambra del Nepal by i Profumi di Firenze

10 Corso Como – Eau de Parfum
Stilettos on Lex Extrait by JUL ET MAD Paris

Now which two should I spoil myself with?

Good luck shopping at Beauty Habit. Go on, you’re worth it.

Thank you Portia! Yikes…waiting until the last minute. Do I get Frangipane et Cocco or Terasse à St-Germain? And all the body butters and oils. What to choose. xo

  • LisaInDenver says:

Hey there, Portia! Thank you kindly for this Christmas in July present! I have been nursing a nice decant of PdR Wit, and promptly ventured out to BH to buy it…..but then found myself unexpectedly lured in a different direction, and impulsively grabbed Idole de Lubin instead. Along with Wit, it has been on my FB wish list for some time now. I suppose that the deepest days of summer have me longing for fall scents! Hopefully BH will have a holiday code this year, so that I can indulge my inevitable winter craving for the sunshine of Wit when December rolls in!

I feel your pain living out of boxes and without your kitchen. We moved into our first (detached) home this spring, and are still fishing through the contents of the last lingering boxes of kitchen gadgets, books, and miscellaneous clothes. Once it’s all over and done, the payoff will be worth it, I promise 🙂

    Lisa

P.S., get the Wit….one of us needs to!

    • Portia says:

      Hey there Lisa,
I too have been pulled in different directions.
Parfums de Nicolai – Maharadjah Candle
      Kneipp – Rescue Kit Bath Collection – 6 x 20 ml
Tocca – Laundry Delicate – Florence (Bergamot, Gardenia)
i Profumi di Firenze – Ambra del Nepal
Isabey – Fleur Nocturne Eau de Parfum
I’m letting it sit there till tomorrow because I think I want to swap the Wit for the Fleur Nocturne, but then I am 100% sure that the FN is the one. GRRR! Greedy me!

  • Thanks for that little bit of enabling. ;P I bought three 7mls from Providence Perfume Co – Samarinda, Divine and Hindu Honeysuckle. I went in thinking I was just going to buy one, but then I couldn’t make up my mind which I wanted. Then I thought, well it is 20% off and they’re pretty reasonable, so I could do two… Still couldn’t completely make up my mind, so 3 it is. And they’re blind buys too, so we’ll see how this goes. I feel pretty good about these three, though. There are others that I’m interested in, but didn’t feel as confident that I’d like them, so I think I see more samples in my future too.

I’d been trying not to spend money on perfume lately (or much of anything extraneous, really) to build more savings for a house down payment, so I think once I decided to loosen the belt a little, I went crazy. lol

    • Portia says:

      Hey Jennifer Counts,
Nice haul. You did well and they are three lovely sounding frags. I like PPP crew and have worn Hindu Honeysuckle, YUMMY! I love that companies are offering reasonable sizes for us who have enough to last 5 lifetimes.

Thanks so much for the coupon code! I just got me some Ann Gerard Cuir de Nacre — squeee!! I will now have two of her scents, since I already own Perle de Mousse. That’s unprecedented for me (two full bottles from the same niche brand). I don’t buy a lot of niche, because it usually pales next to my vintage faves. But this is really good stuff.

  • Maria B says:

Thanks so much for the code. I ordered Sabe Masson Discovery Set II. I’ve been so curious, and the 20% made the decision for me.

  • Ann says:

Howdy Portia! Thanks mucho for the BH code. And I hope all the moving madness is over soon — keep your chin up. I’m with Rosarita above; not moving again unless they wheel me out, ha!!

    • Portia says:

      Hey Ann,
How lucky are we that this has happened. SQUEEEEEEEEE
I think I need to do a big cull so now is a good time to do it.
Maybe a couple more moves for me, let’s see.

Isabey Fleur Nocturne is fab. Have you tried Gardenia, Portia? I find it quite similar, yet, more. It has more depth, more interest. As if they saw what they did with Gardenia, and whilst it is beautiful it seemed, somehow, less than it could or should be. Fleur Nocturne succeeds in completing this fragrance for me.

    • Portia says:

      Yes Kathleen,
I did try it and I liked it very much but it’s like Gardenia is the beginners version.
Also the Fleur Nocturne bottle is To Die For.

Me, too… the code was for free shipping, and it’s showing “expired”.

  • Patch Girl says:

    Me, too. Code expired!

  • tomate farcie says:

The code currently isn’t working, getting “expired” …help ….Corsica Furiosa is calling me

  • kathleen says:

Hey Portia. This code doesn’t work. I see “Promotion Expired”

  • rosarita313 says:

Ah, moving is such a stressful process! I swear my next move is out the door feet first, I’m done.

Thanks Posse for the BH code! From what I’ve tried from your list Portia I would recommend 10 Corso Como which I’ve kind of wanted for years, and Wit. Stilettos on Lex stabbed me in the eye with an immediate soaring sweet violet but if you like violet you’ll love it, it’s very well made.

    • HA! Yes, it is stressful. I am hoping there are a few more moves in me.
I LOVE violets, for me there is something so sweet and calming about them. 10 Corso Como has been on the list forever too, I don’t know why I don’t have it.

I am trying to decide if I’d even notice the kitchen disappeared…. I’m thinking as long as the fridge remained to keep my Co-colas tea cold, probably not! 😀

Thank you so much or the code!
