Santa Maria Novella Pot Pourri

SMNpotI am lucky enough to have a store on nearby Melrose Place that carries the delightful smelling pot pourri put out by Santa Maria Novella, which I fell in love with years ago. Normally I am not a fan of pot pourri, because some of it is, well, cheap smelling. This isn’t. From their website:

Once you’ve been enveloped by the magic scent of Santa Maria Novella’s pot pourri, you’ll understand why generations of captivated followers flock to Florence to stock up. Scrupulously handmade using ancient methods, this incredibly long-lasting, beautifully fragrant potpourri is a full-bodied blend of herbs and flowers (a secret formula), all grown without pesticides in the Florentine hills exclusively for Santa Maria

I don’t know what is in it, but it smells rich. spicy and almost chewy. It lasts months if you give it an occasional toss, and when it’s become to wan for your room, don”t throw it out- put it in the ashtray of your car. It will make your vehicle smell delicious (It’s too strong if you use it straight out of the package in the car, in my opinion)

Santa Maria Novella Pot Pourri is $35 for 3.5 ounces, available at their website and at Luckyscent. I purchased mine from the Santa Maria Novella store in Los Angeles.

Thanks for the review. For fun, I added Santa Maria Novella Caprifoglio (Honeysuckle) cologne to a sample order and fell in love. It’s made me very curious about their other products. So far everything I’ve heard has been positive. I plan to explore further.

Thanks I used to buy this in NYC and now I live in Miami so your article showed me where I can purchase it now. This scent is wonderful and in a class by itself.

Tom, this sounds delightful! I have always heard great things about this potpourri but now I need to find a store around here that carries it.

I had the room fragrance in garafano/carnation. Expensive, yes but it lasted for ages. Well worth it.

I bet I’d fall in love with it but boy, that’s a little pricey for potpourris! I’m still dying to try the perfumes !
