What Is On Your Fragrant Wish List? + Giveaway

Hey Posse, Fragrant Wish List? Do you have one? How long is it? Can you think of two things you want more than all the others? OK, so I have a Pre-Christmas idea. Let’s write them down, it helps focus the mind and maybe it will send the message to the universe that it is exactly what you want and it will hear you. Stranger things have happened, Kim Kardashian anyone? One of the best gifts EVER for a perfumista is a Surrender To Chance GIFT VOUCHER! When I first found out about the Sample & Decant sites I would ask Jin to get them for me. There would be the excitement of getting the voucher on eMail, then I would get to agonise over my choices, wait for the parcel and then days of pleasure trying them all. Perfect gift. It also neatly solves the “What Can I Get You?” dilemma. You will ALWAYS have a ready answer now and if 10 people buy you a $25 Surrender To Chance GIFT VOUCHER each then it all adds up!

What Is On Your Fragrant Wish List?

My Answer? What two things do I most want from the fragrant world right now? The top of my Fragrant Wish List?

Iris Cendre by Naomi Goodsir: This will be my first Wish List purchase but it has to wait till after Jin & I go to Europe in January/February, or maybe I can buy it while away as my holiday adventure memory scent? That opening couple of hours is so freaking wearable, so comfortable it fits me like a glove. LuckyScent has $187/50ml

Fève Délicieuse Christian Dior: I don’t know how this gorgeous frag isn’t in my collection yet, it’s been at the top of the Wish List since I first tried it. The only reason I can think of is that I’m holding off till we are in the Galleries Lafayette in Paris and I can see the lovely DIOR girl on the first floor. She is super generous with the samples and always so fun to have a laugh with. Shopping under that dome is one of the reasons to live, not to mention Guerlain is right next to DIOR up there.

  • Sarah says:

Aiming high here: Vero Profumo Onda extrait and Sonoma Scent Studio Incense Pure.

  • Ingeborg says:

Fève Délicieuse Christian Dior is a new favourite for winter (only have a sample from StC so far), but what’s highest on my wishlist is Chanel no.19 in perfume. That one is not likely to become part of my Collection before I get to og to Paris myself again, in 2017 I guess.

  • samberg says:

I most want Estee Lauder’s Tuberose Gardenia (preferably parfum but I’ll settle if I have to) and By Kilian’s Beyond Love. Yes, I am on a serious tuberose kick. 🙂

  • sublimisomnium says:

Frederique Malle Iris Poudre is currently tied with Calvin Klein Reveal.
Of course they are on complete ends of the fragrance spectrum. Iris Poudre is breathtaking and formal – Reveal is cuddly and makes me want to continuously breathe it in.
I will no doubt get Reveal before Iris Poudre because it is currently in all the discount stores.
Thank you for all the giveaways! Makes the holidays even more exciting 🙂

  • nicole says:

Top of the list would be FM Une Fleur de Cassie,Dior New Look 1947,Houbigant Oranges en Fleurs & Juliette Has a Gun Moondance. Oh! and Guerlain Angelique Noir

  • Radhika says:

Nice postLovely post! Very well written. Keep in touch!
    Beauty and Fashion Freaks

  • HeidiC says:

If we’re going really pie-in-the-sky, Iris Ganache and vintage Mitsouko! But I would love Frederic Malle’s Une Fleur de Cassie and Chanel’s Cuir de Russie. Happy holidays and salacious scents to all!

  • tiffanie says:

Promesse de l’Aube by MDCI Parfums and Oyedo from Dyptique are at the top of my list at the moment. I feel like it is time to try these fragrance houses.

Happy holidays to everyone! It is fun to read about your scented wishes.

  • Fatima Zahra says:

Happy holidays. My wish list has Ormonde Jayne Ta’if, and Amouage Lyric Woman. I have been a very good girl Santa.

  • Lisa B says:

My top 2 are: Papillon Artisan Perfumes Salome and Tauer L’air du Desert Marocain. Happy Holidays!

  • Tania says:

Happy holidays and thank you for the giveaway.
Guerlain Mitsouko extrait and Dior Feve Delicieuse.

  • jirish says:

Top of my list right now is by Killian Rose Oud and Vero Profumo’s Rozy. Can you tell that I’ve fallen for rose?

  • AllGirlMafia says:

Two huh? 1740 Histories de Parfum and Eau de Charlotte Annick Goutal. Thank you for the giveaway : )

  • Roslyn says:

Hi Portia, I’d wish for bottles of Aftelier Vanilla Smoke and Lyric Woman. Thanks so much for the draw!

  • Angela says:

I’d love a full bottle of Olympic Orchids Osafume and Helmut Lang EDP !! Great giveaway! Thank you. 🙂

  • Marianna says:

Puredistance M and SHL 777 Khol Bahrain

  • Anne says:

I would love a full bottle of Bellodgia parfum, preferably vintage ( it was my go to scent in the early seventies ). I have just discovered Liqueur Charnelle by Huitieme Art and am over the moon in love with it.

  • Nightingale says:

No. 5 Eau Premier is top on my list and Agent Provocateuer Strip is my fantasy impossible to find blind buy choice. Thanks for the draw!

  • Petunia says:

Like many others have said, the top of my wish list changes almost daily but today I would ask for Mohur Extrait and a vintage bottle of L’Heure Bleue. Happy Holidays and thanks for the generous draw!

  • JillM says:

Right now I’m craving Chanel Bois de Iles, which was one I didn’t like, but things have changed, and also if money isn’t a factor Guerlain l’heure de Nuit….Hopefully Santa is getting all our requests 😉

  • jackie b says:

I would love the Mohur extrait for myself, and Pure Distance M which smells delicious on my husband.

  • Tena says:

My top two craves right now would be La Danza delle Libellule Exceptional Edition by Nobile 1942
    and Chanel Russian Leather extrait.

Hope you are having a great holiday season, and thank you for the chance to win.

  • Valerie says:

    On my wish list
i have Myrrh Imperial from Armani Prive and the 2nd place is a tie (I know i’m braking the rule but it is really a tie) between Mona Di Orio Vanille and MEMO Lalibela. Happy Holidays people!

  • Glannys says:

Thank you for the giveaway, Portia!
    1. Frederic Malle Portrait of a lady
    2. A bunch of samples from Sonoma Scent Studio.:) I have never tried anything from this house and very curious about it. But if I must choose one, then let it be Forest Walk.

  • maneki says:

My list tends to change almost daily depending on my mood, the weather, all sorts of things. So what might be my top two now? Well, I’m really missing Annick Goutal Vanille Exquise since using up my sample (can’t afford actually buying a bottle). Tend to always return to a boozy, smoky or incense-y vanilla even if I enjoy many other types of fragrances too. Still many to try, but this one is the one I’ve become most fond of so far.
Interpreting “fragrant things” loosely, I’d say the second thing would be rosebush, more specifically a Rosa glauca, with that dark foliage I love so and dainty, simple pink five-petal flowers. Not actually THE rose to buy if you want rose scent (nothing beats our pink cabbage rose and the gruffy rosa rugosa when if comes to fragrant roses in the garden), it’s mostly appreciated for the dramatic foliage, but it does have some aroma to it so it sort of fits the question.
Happy holidays and many thanks for this chance to win some lovely fragrances!

  • Lisa D says:

I’d love it if I unwrapped a gift package, and found a bottle of Amouage Sunshine inside. Or some Rubj EdP.

  • maggiecat says:

Oh, I’d love a bottle of Chanel Les Exclusifs 1932, and another of MFK’s Lumiere Noire. Not sure if I’ve been good enough to merit both, but I can dream…

  • Rina says:

I’m going with old and new! I’d love a big bottle of My Queen by McQueen and Mitzah by Dior! Both equally HTF but a girl can dream! Happy WARM Holidays, dear Portia! Enjoy EU in the new year!

  • teri says:

‘Tis the season when my fancy turns to thoughts of dark and boozy scents, so these are the two samples I’ve tried recently that kept my nose glued to my wrist:

Luci Ed Ombre – Masque Milano
    Black II – A J Arabia

  • Audrey says:

I would love some tobacco rose by Tom Ford

  • katrin says:

At the moment it’s CdG’s Holigrapie and The Different Company’s Bergamote.

  • Janice says:

Iris Cendre is lovely, I think it would be a wonderful holiday souvenir. (Or one of several souvenirs.)
At the top of my wish list are Bois des Iles extrait and (since we’re aiming high) a bottle of the limited edition, long-gone, impossibly expensive Armani Prive La Femme Bleue.

  • Irina says:

my top are Misia and Bel Respiro- I wish….

  • Maureen says:

My top two right now would be Bois des Iles and Noir Pour Femme. Happy Holidays and thanks for the draw!

  • Bastet says:

Lutens Rose de Nuit and Malle Portrait of a Lady are on my wishlist! Thanks for the draw. If I win I will definitely order a sample of Iris Cendre – I’ve heard so many good things.

  • TheLunarWhale says:

Happy holidays! Probably Serge Lutens Sarrasins and vintage Rochas Femme.

  • Sapphire says:

Any of the original three Neela Vermeires or Serge Lutens Rahat Loukhom, my best new recent discovery. The Eric Buterbaugh coffret would be very nice, as well. Thanks for the drawing!

  • Claudia S says:

Bois des Iles perfume and Ryder. Thanks!

  • mim666 says:

Hmm… Since this is a fantasy, I think Gobin Daude Seve Exquise (discontinued and lamented) and Clive Christian X (I just found out someone I know bought this because it was very expensive. So jealous! Hope he learns to appreciate it.)
Happy Holidays Portia, Posse, and all!

  • flowergirlbee! says:

the two fragrant things at the top of my wish list are the 15th anniversary coffret from frederic malle and a bottle of apres l’ondee and i might have to be crazy cheeky and squeeze in a bottle of nahema pure parfum.

  • Patty Pong says:

I would buy two of something vintage. I couldn’t possibly decide which hypothetically. =o\

  • Lizbee says:

My want list is longish, but the top 2 are Chanel Bois des Iles parfum and Amouage Beloved. Please, Santa!

  • Patsi133 says:

Hey Ms Portia, If money was no object i would loooove a big bottle of Amouage Opus III…. or perhaps Aerin Lauder’s Lilac Path. I would just smell beautiful, wafting around Ireland. Ah well one can only wish, perchance to dream. Have a wonderful Christmas/holiday/whatever. ….. and thanks. x

  • Caroline says:

Love to get my hands on Bois des Iles extrait and a fb of Aftelier Cuir Gardenia. Recently stumbled across a stashed sample of the latter, and it’s gorgeous.

  • Vanie says:

I tried to narrow it down to two, but the best I could do was three: SL La fille de Berlin, JM Blackberry & Bay and FM Eau de Magnolia. Plus a bunch of fragrances I decided I should only get a decent of (from STC, of course!)

  • Ann says:

Howdy, Portia! My job has slowed down considerably for the holidays, so although I can wish, I can’t really “do” anything Right this minute, what I’m jonesing most for is a bottle or decant of Costes No. 2 (such a lovely, fluffy and warm comfort scent) and a Frederic Malle candle in Tuberose. My other wish, for some PG Indochine, was fulfilled by an amazing perfume pal for my birthday back in November. And another generous perfumista sent me her remaining bottle of Gypsy Water, plus a boatload of other good stuff, so really, I’m sitting pretty! Perfume lovers are the best, aren’t they? Thanks for a great post (and of course, DNEM).

  • AnnieA says:

Beige for a new and grand office scent and oh EdP Dioressimo and in a crystal bottle while we are at it.

  • solanace says:

    Mohur Extrait and Shangai Lilly.

  • Luna Green says:

Amouage Beloved and Chanel 31 Rue Cambon

  • Dina C. says:

So hard to choose only two from my list! I’ll go with Narcisco in the white cube bottle and SL Filles en Aiguilles. Sending you best wishes for a Merry Christmas!

  • thegoddessrena says:

The two I most want right now would be Cross of Asia from Orlov and Single Malt from Kilian

  • Pam says:

MerryChristmas, Portia. I have a long list of wishes, but will whittle it down to two: Apres l’Ondee and L’Air du Desert Moroccain. Excuse any spelling mistakes, it’s early here in Bama.

    • Ann says:

Pam from B’ham? How are you? Haven’t talked to you in ages. Hope you and your family are well. Happy and blessed holidays to you!

  • hajusuuri says:

I would go with Aftelier Vanilla Smoke Extrait and Guerlain Habit Rouge Dress Code! Merry Christmas, Portia and thank you for the generous giveaway!

  • bevfred says:

I would lurve, not just love, lurve Tauer’s Sotto La Luna – Tuberose and Tom Ford’s Santal Blush. Cheers!

  • Starling says:

Happy Holidays, Portia!!! Shay & Blue Salted Caramel and Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy

  • Becky says:

    Dear Santa,

I would really like a cloche of new love Borneo 1834 (although I’ve heard it might be released in the 50 ml soon, humina-humina…) and old flame Profumum Roma Patchouli.

    Love and stuff,
    Becky

  • Neva says:

Yippie Portia, great gifting idea! Thank you for the giveaway! Hmmmm wait…I could always do with another Amouage, for example Opus I and my other choice is Cuir Cuba by Patricia de Nicolai.

  • nicevulady says:

Absolue Pour Le Soir and Amouage Fate Woman. Thank you for the Giveaway and have Happy Hoidays.

  • Elizabeth says:

Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady and Xerjoff Irisss

  • Artist says:

Oh the two that haunt me now are Mona di Orio Nuit Noir and Different Company Oud Shamash….
I dream of these ……grazie infinite and happiest Christmas!

  • finanna says:

I haven’t tested either of them but I have serious lemmings for Puredistance White and Aftelier Vanilla Smoke (extrait, of course). Santa, can you bring me or mr f a bottle, prettyprettyplease? I am sure he’d love to smell them on me.

  • Nemo says:

Just two? I would go with Mohur EDP and Tauer Lonestar Memories. Thank you, and happy holidays!

  • eldarwen22 says:

Right now, I am going with Silver Iris Mist and Amouage Beloved. Maybe I should go with Frapin 1697. Those are my top three right now. When most of my dental work is done, I will spring for one of them.
