Random Perfume Sample Giveaway

Okay, not doing Perfume Fairy Godmother this month since I did it mid-month.  I have so many perfume samples running around my house, it is ridiculous. So!!!  on the months I don’t do Perfume Sample Fairy Godmother, I’m going to do a giveaway of two sets of all kinds of perfume samples.  I can do Leaning Male set or a Leaning Female set or a mix’em up with whatever.  It will include a lot of new releases.

amouage bracken

I was going to review Amouage Bracken today, and then realized my review is pretty simple.  It really is masculine, and all I can tell you about it (not one I’m going to wear, it veers too masculine) is my sons both loved it, and when one wore it to the doctor’s office, the nurse there went on and on about it to him and then asked me a week later what it was he was wearing.  It is great on a man, and I will definitely have a sample of this in both sample sets. If you’re a guy, you are gonna need to try it, it is great.  There, that is the my Amouage Bracken review!

Of all the new releases that have come out so far this fall and ones scheduled to release (not even sure what that is), what are you looking forward to?  Or if you know of something that is releasing, just mention it in a comment. That helps everyone know what’s coming out and shares the news.

Winners of the Louboutin samples (not too many of you entered! LOL) – Jeanne, Neva and Ricky Rebarco.  Just click on Drop Us a Note at the top, send me an e-mail, remind me of what you won and get me your mailing address. I’ll send you a quick e-mail to let you know I got your e-mail and it didn’t land in a spam filter and then get it on the way to you.  I only check Posse e-mail like once a week, so it can take a few days sometimes to respond there – which reminds me I need to go check that e-mail box.

  • I have amouage gold and it’s amazine, it will be nice if won some samples for men. Thank you

  • Audrey says:

Thank you for the sample giveaway. I have been trying the different Molinards and also some Neela Vermeer samples. Lovely!

  • Mocha says:

Thank you for the sample giveaway! I love your site and have been lurking for a while.
I recently went on a sampling bender and tried one of Amouage’s newest, Lilac Love. It’s beautifully done. I’d love to get my hands on either Bracken! Especially after reading your short & sweet review of the men’s version.

  • Troy says:

I’d love a skews male sampler but happy to smell feminine ones too. I collect both to share fragrance with guests. I’m interested in Tom Ford vert releases. IA’s Slow Explosians did not work on me. It smelled like tire rubber and apple on my skin, which could be considered kind of punk I guess.

  • thegoddessrena says:

Just went to the mall last night and tried Chantecaille Le Wild and it’s a nice big gardenia. Oh happiness. I want to try the rest of the new Louis Vuitton scents, Arquiste El and Ella, Tom Ford Ombre Leather and the new DSH scents

  • flowergirlbee! says:

i am interested in smelling MFK’s petit matin and grand soir after reading val’s snippet of a review.i have been looking for a creamy lemon smell for awhile now.

  • Carob says:

I love lilacs & would like to sniff the new Amouage. I’d like to try the new feminine Creeds, although they are so price-y I’d have to really love one to spend so much. Gardenias are another favorite for cool weather. I’ve been wearing an old Balenciaga lately, Quadrille.

  • Suzy Q says:

I’m looking forward to trying Comme des Garcones Black Pepper, Byredo Heliotropia, Jo Malone Basil & Neroli, Nicolai Incense Oud…. So many. Dying to smell Chanel Boy. Aedes de Venustas has a new one and I’ve smelled not one of the old ones! Shame.

  • Tiffanie says:

Random is good. Sometimes the best things in life are random surprises. I’m imagining Bracken is REALLY masculine. I can wear almost anything once. The only scent I can think of that goes too far in that direction for me is Caron Pour un Homme. I truly love the lavender, but the drydown goes all barbershop musky on me. Boo. I just tried a sample of Penhaligon’s Lothair. I hoped it would be a good one for me but the fig leaf was too prominent. I felt like I’d been weeding in the garden all day and needed a shower.

  • maggiecat says:

There are so many new scents I want to try – and yet I find myself being picky about what I actually buy, either as a decant or full bottle. Wearing Eau des Merveilles today, and that’s about as masculine as I go, personally, but one never knows.

  • Marianna says:

I am curious about a few things: Rahele new launch, Rania J Cuir Andalouse, and I am hoping Naomi Goodsir would do a new release soon!!!

  • BirdyAnn says:

I’m not really sure what new releases I’d like to try, although Luckyscent’s fall sample set sounds interesting. I’m also waiting for Sonoma Scent Studio to reopen, haven’t tried any of their fragrances and I want some new incense/woody/spicy scents for cooler weather.

  • Donna S says:

Wow this is great fun. Thanks. I’d like to try the loubitan (missed that one) as well as the Louis Vuitton frags. The bond no 9 soho is kinda nice too. I love new fragrance samples. Enjoy wearing and seeing how they develop. I just saw the bracken and was wondering how it was on a man. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the sample offer.

  • Ingeborg says:

I have so much green and citrus is my collection and generally don’t care for leather, tar, fir and the like, so floral or floriental is what I am looking for now, plus scents with tonka bean or rather sweet amber (for colder days). Enjoyed wearing Jardin du Poête yesterday and SL 5 o’clock au Gingembre today, a day with a noticeable chill in the air. Simply don’t know what to try next, but the local shops have the new Chanel no.5 now.

  • Christine B says:

I’m only getting back into perfume after a multi-year hiatus. (Like seven!) I have no idea what’s coming out. I’d probably prefer a bunch of feminine samples. Trying Traversee du Bosphore today since it’s finally a little chilly and I like the dry down, but it’s probably too sweet for me still. I think I’m a sweet amplifier.

  • Amber says:

I would love to receive a male leaning set. I love leather, chypre, oud, darker scents and scents from independent/artisan perfumers.

    Thanks for the draw!

  • calypso9999 says:

I tried Bracken on a recent visit to London where Benjamin at the Harrod’s Amouage counter was very sweet and knowledgeable. I agree with your review: quite masculine, green, leafy, a bit dark. Not my thing. I asked if there would be a Bracken Woman and he said yes, it’s promised for next spring sometime. It’s in a series along with Sunshine that have a different bottle design (at least in the men’s) with a sort of drawing on the outside of a clear bottle.

  • Maureen says:

I have not tried anything new in a while, so I would love to try some new releases (female leaning). I’d really like to try the new Chanel #5 fragrance, still have not tried Misia. I would also like to try SJP Stash. (Loved Covet), new Bottega Veneta fragrance, Moonlight Patchouli, I liked your review of Bracken Man, short and sweet. I would probably not wear it, but would like it on my boyfriend. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • Eldarwen22 says:

I’ve never been in the habit of keeping track of any kind of new releases in perfume. There are just too many to keep track of. The Posse help with keeping somewhat up to date. The Luckyscent e-mails are helpful too.

  • Mim says:

Thanks for the draw, please count me in?

I have lost track of new releases also but Neela Vermiere’s osmanthus one sounds great.

I lean a smidge masculine and warm in my tastes. Could go either way–a mix sounds the most like me. Not sure about bracken but my two favorite gendered Amouages are both for men (jubilation xxv and interlude)

  • HeidiC says:

I would love either male or female scents, or a mix! I’m curious about the Prada Oeillet and the new Neela Vermeire as well, and also keeping a nose out as L’Artisan is releasing new scents.

  • rosarita313 says:

I am so behind on new things – still haven’t tried Blackbird or any Zoologist scents. I just got a sample of Imaginary Authors Slow Explosions and I really like it as I do most everything in the line, and I may need a bottle because it is very likely PdE Wazamba to my nose and lots cheaper. Thanks for the giveaway, Patty!

  • AnnieA says:

Not a fan of wearing dude perfumes myself.

  • jenbat says:

Haha, this is why I leave perfume reviewing to my betters, my reviews would all be “It’s good!” “It’s bad!” or “Congratulations, you made a smell!” Recent release I’m dying to try would be Ella by Arquiste, and in mid-October Zoologist releases Nightingale and Macaque, can’t wait!!!

  • Connie says:

I’d love to try some new samples- and thanks for the Bracken Man review.

  • Kirsten says:

Hello! I have my perfume mojo back after finding ‘facebook fragrance friends’ and feel like a card carrying perfumista again, so I’ll comment and play 🙂 I’ve been out of the ‘sniffing’ habit for a while so I have lots to get back in to. Looking forward to SJP Stash and Hermes Galop along with the new Malle coming in the spring. I’m travelling to Dubai at the end of the month, so I’m hoping to sniff and test as much as I can before I come home. I’m also going to try the Jo Malones again as I haven’t been near them for a long time. Anything I should watch out for?

  • pats133 says:

I’ve not heard much talk about Moonlight Patchouli – Van Cleef & Arpels – just came out recently. I got a small sample and its very wearable, starts off with a boozy sweet note, with light patchouli, iris, rose and suede. I shall be buying myself a full bottle at the end of the month when i get paid! I’m definitely leaning towards a feminine scent if i was lucky enough to be a recipient of your kindness. 🙂

  • Nemo says:

I am interested in the new NV Osmanthus scent and the new Aedes de Venustas scent 🙂 Also, Hermes Galop! Thank you for the giveaway.

  • Hepatica says:

I second a (very strong) interest in Neela Vermiere’s new Osmantus scent. My local niche perfumer had one sample, none to share and it was exquisite, so I’d love to try it on. I’m also interested in the new Chanel No. 5 and I still haven’t tried Misia, which I’d probably like more. A nice SA at Nordstrom made up a sample of Kilian Straight to Heaven-white crystal, which was beautifully bright, with spicy rum, and clean, clear patchouli. Beautiful in fact, and I will wear it, though it definitely leans masculine….what I’d really like to try although it isn’t new is Love and Tears Surrender….I’m curious about the new Prada Infusions, especially Oeillet and Amande, and the Olfactories (Purple Rain, Nue au Soleil, Tainted Love) although I’m not sure I want to know at that price. I’m leaning feminine.
    Perfect review!

  • Veronika says:

I have been away from the perfume field for quite long, but now I am coming back because I will be following you. 🙂 Thank you for your sample giveaway!

  • jackie b says:

I lose track of all the new releases, there are so many! Still have not got my nose on Boy but did try the new No 5 which I didn’t like as much as Eau Premiere.
I would try either set, but am not a BWF type of gal!
    Thanks for the draw.

  • Kathryn says:

I’m really looking forward to Neela Vermeire’s upcoming release, Rahele. I love her fragrances and the notes of osmanthus, woods and spices sound right up my alley.

  • LisaInDenver says:

I am really curious about the new one from Aedes, Grenadille d’Afrique (and I’m so far behind, that I still haven’t tried Cierge de Lune, either!), as well as the new Osmanthus from Eric Buterbaugh (I have and love Regal Tuberose and Sultry Rose). I also made the mistake of visiting the DSH website today to look for a gift, and discovered two brand-new fragrances listed on her homepage: Chinchilla (a “floriental honey/musk animalic” !!!) and Axis Mundi (a “meditative incense design filled with resinous notes and a deep, smoky background” !!!). Needless to say, I am dying to try both 🙂

  • Maya says:

I recently surprised myself by really loving Arquiste Flor y Canto. Now they came out with Ella which I want to try. The Leaning Female sounds great. I need to replace the samples I just sent to an old friend who is house/pet sitting on the North Shore of Oahu. 😉

  • mikasminion says:

I have no idea what movies and books are being released, and I’m sure that information is readily available, so I sure don’t know what perfumes are forthcoming. Actually, isn’t there a Papillon in the works? I’m pretty sure I saw a teaser somewhere about a batch of samples going out and the name still being a secret (I guess it’s not White Moth? I know she decided to rework it but I’m now unsure if she scrapped the name). That one I am definitely looking forward to.
I also have an urge to sniff Galop because the display was so lovely and the tester was gone. It wasn’t high on my list but I hate being thwarted.
I apparently don’t need any more masculine scents (except that I want too try Bracken). I occasionally give one to my husband as a kind of a sop, “look, honey. I got you something too.” It doesn’t really make me look any less greedy, nor does it stop the sighing, and he says he’ll never get through them all. I suppose I would prefer the feminine samples if I should happen to be drawn, but I’m not picky. I just won’t share with him anymore.

  • Luanne Teall says:

Well, I love all kinds of perfume samples, so I would love to win a set.

  • Tiara says:

Now you’re writing perfume reviews just like I would! Liked it (or didn’t). Won’t buy it (or will). Short and sweet. I’ve been living under a rock for a while now…are there new things coming out this fall? Wow, who knew?! 🙂 I cleaned out a drawer the other day and found Natori. No idea why it was there but enjoyed wearing it today.

  • Lemoncake says:

Bracken sounds interesting if it gets that kind of reaction! I could go feminine or masculine – love leather, smoke bourbon but also love florals.

  • Jeanne says:

Visiting daughters in CA. Went to Nordstrom trying to take in all the scents. Only store where they don’t make you feel like you’re asking for gold when you ask for a sample.

  • crystesmom says:

SLAM, BAM, THANK YOU, MA’AM! Lovin’ the Bracken review, Patty! LMAO!!!

  • Patty Pong says:

Do you have a unisex leaning sample set ? 🙂 Is posting here the way of entering? 🙂
