What’s your EBP? Autumn emergency backup perfume

emergency EBP As you all probably know by now, EBP isn’t some kind of official-speak, as in, “Hey, Joe, what’s your ETA to the next delivery stop?” It stands for emergency backup perfume, and it was coined by lovely Posse reader AnnieA, commenting on one of my posts several years ago. It’s something a lot of us probably do without even thinking about it: We apply a scent at home, then put the spray or vial or mini bottle into to-go mode and head out the door. And after a busy day or week — or in my case, sometime even months ? — we forget to take them all back out again.

Now that we (or at least some of us) are into autumn, it’s time to share our current sniffages. (Not sure that’s even a word, but …).

As for me and my emergency backup perfume, I’ve been grooving on a few new things and an oldie or two. On a recent trip to the big city, I sniffed Byredo’s Eleventh Hour and really liked it from the spritz I got. Think I need to skip on over to Surrender to Chance and get a bit more to play with. Also, one of the new Chanel Les Eaux, Venise, is making my nose happy. It’s the warmest, most vanilla of the three, but still pretty light with moderate lasting power. As for oldies but goodies, I’ve pulled out Byredo’s Gypsy Water for a few cooler evenings as well as Guerlain’s Cuir Beluga for the one night we dropped into the 50s, temperature-wise.

What about you? Do take a peek at the bottoms of your purses, backpacks, briefcases, etc., and share your emergency backup perfume: What vials, decants, bottles, etc., are rolling around in there?

And even though I’m preaching to the choir — a word of caution: I try to keep my EBP items in a plastic zip-top baggie (a plastic-lined makeup bag would do nicely) in a feeble attempt at organization, but also mostly because I’m frightened of leakage. Having once had the lining of a handbag stained this way, that’s one fragrance emergency I’m not eager to repeat. And it is nice to have your scent choices all together and see them at a glance, instead of spread out all hither and yon in the bottom of your purse, which is what I used to do, before said accident.

Have a great week, everyone, and stay warm (or cool, as the case may be)!

Lately I’ve had a sample of GA Sun de Gioea or else Air ? And I’ve been using up a purse size of Salvatore Ferragamo Pour Femme and a sample minirollerball of Chanel Chance ( this last I’ll probably just refill from the near full bottle I scored at a local thrift store for $20! Still stoaked about that find!)

It’s really weird weather here, occasionally sunny and warm and then the next day so freezing cold that the autumn rain feels more like ice storm. I have survived thanks to wonderful vial of Chamade extrait. It has aged beautifully, and makes me feel like stepping into the La Primavera (Botticelli) painting,

it’s freezing (literally. 30F tonight) here so I’m into the warmer frags as well as my standby, the ol No5. I’ve got a teeny vial of Chanel Cuir de Russie parfum in my bag – wearing the toenails out of that right now. Also a little vial of Tommi Sooni Tarantella. Every now and again I get a leather whiff that is extraordinary, so it’s worth the wait.

    xoxoxo
