Tom Ford Soleil Blanc is the latest entry for the Private Blend series. Inspired by a private island with never-ending summer, they have listed only amber and floral notes. Okay, that’s precise.
Think sun-warmed skin, ylang, oils. Didn’t Tom do Azuree Soleil for Estee Lauder? I still love that. This is an upscale, much more refined Azuree Soleil. Very beachy, but not Coppertone beachy. A soft, buttery floral. If you like the summer skin suntan smells in perfume, this one is really good. I like it better than Azuree Soleil because it’s not as emphatic on being a suntan lotion. I’m thinking I’ll feel stronger about it as the summer comes on. It does remind me of Costa Rica, and that’s not a bad thing.
Good grief, I hate it when I get to the end of a review and find it was just a paragraph.
I am still wearing the Orlovs pretty much all the time. I’ve decided I could wear Cross of Asia pretty much every day and never be an unhappy perfumista. So it’s gone on the list to go on the rocket ship off the exploding planet if that day ever comes.
So let’s do some samples of Tom Ford Soleil Blanc in a giveaway. I’ll do four samples. I’m going to Paris in a couple of weeks. If you know of a new release (there’s a couple of new Guerlains, I hear) that I should make sure and look for over there, just let me know in comments. Otherwise, do you like beach fragrances at all? Not at all? Never tried them beyond Coppertone?
Do you like beachy scents? I’m still the biggest fan of the CB At the Beach for a summer beach smell. But I think tom Ford Soleil Blanc comes in right next to it. That is pretty good company for beach perfumes.
Winners of the sample sets of Orlov are DDJ, Belsannon, Elisa P and Maya. Just click on Drop Us a Note at the top, send me an e-mail, remind me of what you won and get me your mailing address. I’ll send you a quick e-mail to let you know I got your e-mail and it didn’t land in a spam filter and then get it on the way to you!
I haven’t had much luck with Tom Ford fragrances, but I still love Tobacco Vanille. Although I think his perfumes probably do better in the warmer weather. This one is definitely interesting. Thanks for the draw!
Beach scents…..hmmm. I don’t do a lot of them, but I do love Guerlain Terracotta with all of my heart. It may be the closest I’ve come to beachy scents, unless you consider salty scents beachy too, in which case I am falling for Calvin Klein Reveal due to it’s salt.
As to Tom Ford, I like some of his but I haven’t been impressed for a while, I must admit. But anything with Amber can’t be bad, so my ears have perked.
In Paris, I do hope you’ll look up Ne m’Oubliez Pas. I am not sure I think it’s worth it’s price, though the bottle is lovely, but it does dry down to a nice vintage Lipstick vibe so you may enjoy have a test of that one.
My favorite beachy scent is the discontinued Jennifer Anniston.
I’m a fan of Bronze Goddess in the luxurious-feeling whipped body cream. Mmmm… Can’t it be summer yet?
I was a Bronze Goddess fan for years but now my heart belongs to Terracotta. I wore it on New Years Day and it completely reminded me of summer!
I’m a big fan of beachy scents (minus the coconut) and the recent TFPC’s in those pretty blue bottles are all gorgeous. I just wish they lasted longer on me or I would spring for a bottle or two (Costa Azzurra and Fleur de Portofino), OK maybe three (Mandarino di Amalfi). Thanks for the draw !
Thanks for the draw! This sounds lovely. I am actually a big fan of CB Mr. Hulot’s Holiday (also one of my favorite movies) as a beach scent. It’s delightfully cheerful. If you’re in Paris, I’m really curious about the Prada Infusions Amande. I don’t think they’ve made their way state-side yet and I’m dying to try the Amande.
I haven’t been a fan of beachy scents in the past because I don’t want to smell like Coppertone, even with sunscreen. Nor am I a fan of coconut in scent. So if this can capture the beach without those two, I’m all in.
I used to love Bain de Soleil. I liked Bronze Goddess a lot. I would love to try this new Tom Ford, it just got really cold here in the Philly suburbs, and I’d love to be reminded of the beach…..actually, I’d love to fly to a beach and park myself there until I properly thawed out! Thanks for the draw, and have a lovely time in Paris.
Nuxe forever!
I love beach perfumes probably because I love the beach 🙂 I would love to try this so thanks for the opportunity!
Great Review. I don’t have a beach scent but I love Tom Ford fragrances. I am eager to try this. Thanks for the draw.
This sounds lovely. I don’t have a beachy scent in my frag wardrobe yet. I’m on the lookout, though. Thanks for the draw!
When in Paris, maybe you could track down and try the latest Ramon Monegal – Bravo and there’s another brand I heard praises of: Ex Idolo. Enjoy your trip!
As for beach scents – Coppertone smell is a NO for me, but otherwise I like the beachy feel in summer perfume.
Perfect timing for a beachy scent review. It just got really cold here. Always fun to get away from the here with a great perfume. I like beachy scents for that reason. Wear them when I need to escape and feel like I’m somewhere warm and tropical. Others always compliment too. I’d love a try at this. Enjoy your Paris trip. Get some lovely notes for us.
great review, Patty- no Coppertone is a plus…
would love to be able to try
Enjoy Paris
I’m a big fan of both Azuree Soleil and Bronze Goddess, so your description of Soleil Blanc as an upscale and refined version of the former has certainly piqued my interest! And given the temperature here in Melbourne today, it certainly is weather-appropriate 🙂 (though I actually really love wearing either AS or BG in the depths of winter, as it reminds me there are warmer days on the way).
Thanks so much for the draw 🙂
Love beachy frags, from Lys Soleia to Terracota and Bronze Godess. Since I live in a very warm climate, this is a good, heady enough for my taste option for summer. The Tom Ford take sounds incredible. Have a great trip to Paris!
Well, I am always looking for a beach scent, but I have never found the “right one”.
I would love to try this.
Thanks for the drawing.
Please remove the previous post–not sure what happened!!

Thanks for the drawing.
I do like beachy scents! I’ve got Bobbi Brown Beach, which is really Coppertone-ish. I also love L’Ambre des Merveilles at the beach because it has a bit of salt, ambergris and amber. This new Tom Ford sounds good. I’d love to be entered in the drawing. Thanks!
leenie2 please email me. I never expected to win and I will share these samples with you. Your offer to me – on my birthday to boot – was a beautiful ending to a lovely day for me! fatima1174 in the land of yahooooooo.
i am really unfamiliar with beachy scents and i would love to give this a try..it is 40 degrees in melbourne today,,,feeling hot, hot, hot
Great review and thank you for the draw. Will be interesting to try it – generally TF private line does not disappoint
Oh yes, please pick me ; ). This sounds right up my alley. I like Lostmarc’h Aod which I find beachy, as well as Andree Putman (original) – a completely different type of beachy. I liked but didn’t love Azuree Soleil. I’d love to try this one. Thanks.
I like a lot of the Tom Fords and this one sounds delightful. Thanks for the draw!
Des Filles a la Vanille has a couple of new ambers, Ambre Nuit and Ambre Chinoise, that sound like interesting daily-wear ambers. They also have a new sub-line, the Mlle. Wood collection, which are based on patchouli and sound quite lovely.
Guerlain’s new Ambre Eternel sounds luscious. I hope to be getting a decant of it next month. Enjoy Paris!
Soleil Blanc sounds worthy of at least a sniff or two. I’m not generally a fan of beachy frags, but I do like orange blossom, which I consider almost beachy.
Wonderful review, I was pretty unsure about a new Tom Ford, but I love Azureé so I’d love to give this a go! When in Paris if you get the chance, chevk out the new Fragonard store and the newest “flower of the year”, Iris. It’s not in the states yet, and I would love to get my hands on a bottle!
Great review Patty. Thank you for the draw.
