Grab Bag of Samples Giveaway!

French Bulldog creamHey, it’s February!  That thing on the left, Cora, has had me a little busy the last week.  Yes, that is a bee sweater. She just had a bath and needed to be warmed!

I had planned to review that soon-to-be-released Atelier des Ors Iris thing today (Iris Fauve?  I think that’s it), but, yeah, she chases my hand when I type.  But it is great, and I’ll have more on that next week, along with a few samples to give away thanks to the amazing Josie at Osswald in NYC

This month I’m doing the random sample grab bag drawing, plus a sample of that new Atelier des Ors Iris thing.   Drop a comment to be entered, and I’ll draw from commenters for two sample grab bags.  If the winner has a special request for one or two samples, I’ll be happy to see if I can include those.

I have decided my next comprehensive review is going to be chocolate perfumes. Surprised me too, but I’ve found not just a couple that I really love.

Winners of the Frederic Malle complete sample set (I think I don’t have the Dries Van Noten) – Ingrid Chamberlin. Just click on Drop Us a Note at the top, send me an e-mail, remind me of what you won, give me the ten samples you want and get me your mailing address. I’ll send you a quick e-mail to let you know I got your e-mail and it didn’t land in a spam filter and then get it on the way to you.

This is interesting too!

  1. Hi Patty! I’m new here and introducing myself. Cora is darling as is the bee sweater. Thanks for offering a give-away.

  2. Hi Patty. Sorry, but that pic of Cora stole your post (and the stuffed animal photobombing in the background)! Cora is so adorable! What doggy bath products do you use on her?

    • I know, she steals everything – my knitting, my ipad, my phone, yarn. She’s very busy until she just drops into and exhausted sleep. I use one that’s got an oatmeal rinse? it’s anti-itch and really gentle, got it from my vet for Vinnie the EB.

  3. The bumble bee sweater lloks very warm I am sure Cora appreciated it! I love chocolate scented well anything, I would love a sample of the chocolate fragrances you have discovered! Thanks for the giveaway.

  4. Cora is adorable! My Yorkie mix is laying on my feet right now. I would love to try Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka. Thanks for offering these giveaways. Give Cora an extra snuggle from me!

  5. What a lovely name for your darling Frenchie!! Nothing better for the spirit than a puppy! Oh and of course good smells!!!

  6. I am imagining what it might be like to smell like chocolate. I think it would make me very popular in my office of chocolate lovers . . . “what’s that smell? It smells good. It smells like chocolate! where is it?”

  7. Hi, your pup is just adorable! I love this site and always lurk here, I would like to enter the giveaway. Good luck to you all!

  8. Oh, little Cora is so darling! Now I want bee sweaters for my pups. Sadly the textile arts are not my forte.
Something I’ve always wanted to try (but ends up on the back burner when I order samples) is SL Vetiver Oriental. Its getting to be time of year for vetivers and green stuff.
    Thank you for the draw!

  9. Although I have never met a candy bar I didn’t like, I just can’t abide chocolate in a fragrance, no way, no how! Of course, there are exceptions to every rule so who knows! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  10. My grandparents had a dog named Cora that used to watch over me when I was sleeping as a newborn. Your Cora is adorable! Yes, please enter me for the giveaways. Thank you!

  11. I haven’t met a chocolate scent I wanted to wear on me, but I can handle theorema, which I’ve heard compared to chocolate orange candy?
    Thanks for the draw…

  12. I wasn’t sure when Iris Fauve was coming out, so I went to my nearby perfumerie, which carries AdO, and asked about it. They had no idea what I was talking about >.< I'm so glad I wasn't making it up!

  13. Cora is such a sweet little puppy that I’m willing to wait another week for your review-

  14. Love a cuddly puppy! I have met so many new friends since getting a dog. My husband keeps telling me the pup smells like me, hehe.
Would love to sample Tobacco Rose by Papillon Perfumery if you have any…

  15. Cora is possibly the cutest puppy ever ( except for mine, of course) 🙂
Thank you for sharing her sweet little face with us and for the draw.

I have had good luck with Aqualine Chocolovers and Jo Malone Orange and Chocolate scents – looking forward to hearing about the rest

  16. Oh, love sample grab bags!
    And Cora <3
My own little pet has been helping me get over a fever- by forcing me to rest. Whenever I sit or lie down she jumps up on me and settles in. And she's quite heavy. 😉

  17. Cute pup and what a great sounding give away! Thanks for the opportunity, I need to give our furry family member a bath tonight, have been putting it off because he always looks so miserable when we mention it, he hates baths!

  18. Love your puppy! And you’ve reminded me that I really need to give my dog a bath soon. He’s pretty patient about it. Doesn’t have a cute bee sweater to warm him though.

  19. ZOMG BEE SWEATER. I die! I would love a grab bag o’ samples! And curious to hear your chocolate review — not usually a fan, unless it’s something pretty weird, like Borneo 1834. Thanks for the draw!

  20. She dresses like a bee AND can’t let you type — omg, so funny! !!
Thanks as always for the draw, I’m soooooooo looking forward to your review of the chocolates!

  21. Aww, puppy! I’ve been missing my dog a lot lately, he passed away almost ten years ago but he was my best friend when I was growing up. I guess I’ll always miss him.

  22. New mascot for the Posse? Soooo cute! I like these comprehensive reviews and look forward to the chocolate one. I’m using up samples so I certainly will have room to try some new fumes!

  23. That dog is a cutie. Count me in, and I am looking forward to the new Atelier des Ors review

  24. please count me in 😉
    PUPPY

ahem I mean, there are many new scents I’d love to try and I don’t even know which because I’m out of the loop. Rahele and Vanilla Flash are the two that come to mind but surprises are great too!

    and chocolate
    mmm
anima dulcis, dsh bois du chocolat, olympic orchids had two, pacifica mexican cocoa, there are so many! And I look forward to learning about more

  25. Dogs really are good companions. I wish I could borrow one from time to time! Giverny in Bloom by DSH Perfumes is one I hope to try this year. I am also curious about Atelier des Ors and Le Galion.

  26. What a cute puppy! I wish I could knit that well. Thank you for the drawing. I would love to try MFK Grand Soir if I had a chance!

  27. Hi, Cora is too adorable… Love her attire! Many thanks for the opportunity to win a fun sample bag of goodies.
    Cindi

  28. Cora and her bee sweater are absolutely adorable! Makes me smile. A sample bag would be fun for this sample-a-holic. 🙂 I am also very interested in chocolate perfumes, not for me, for my daughter. She’s the chocoholic, but so far has not really liked any of the samples I have found for her.

  29. Cora is so cute! I look forward to more doggie pictures 🙂 I’m curious about the chocolate perfumes review, too! I quite enjoy Seattle Chocolate and California Chocolate from Olympic Orchids, myself.

  30. I’m so jealous of your knitting skills – I always say it’s hard for me because I’m left-handed (does that even make sense??), but it’s really because I’m somewhat uncoordinated (please don’t tell anyone! 🙂 ).
Thank you for the draw, and cuddles for your beautiful Cora.

  31. what a super-cute bumble-pup! Thanks for the draw. (I would love to get my hands and nose on Rainmaker, or any of the Zoologist scents some day.)

  32. I really enjoyed the Malle post, and look forward to the next one. I’m familiar with tons of vanillas but I don’t think I’ve tried many chocolate.

  33. Enjoy beautiful little Cora and thanks for the new giveaway. I’m looking forward to the chocolate perfumes review.

  34. Last year’s Yves Rocher le orange body wash had a pronounced chocolate aspect to it.

  35. Squee! I wouldn’t have thought you could get much cuter than Cora, then I saw her sweater and…ohmygod. Too cute.

  36. What a cute little puppy! Does she need a sweater for the outside, too? Thanks for the draw!

  37. LOL about Cora’s bee sweater. Looking forward to your review of the Iris Fauve and thanks for the sample bag drawing 😉

  38. Looking forward to the chocolate perfumes review – I’ve always wanted a great chocolate scent, but haven’t ever found one that really suits. Either too candy-ish, not enough depth, too many other notes, etc.

  39. Cora is SO cute!!! Not sure if you’ve done this drawing yet or not, but if not, please count me in 🙂

  40. I came to this site looking for a modern, non-powdery violet perfume. And I was not disappointed!
