Low-key Monday, thanks to Labor Day

Labor
Happy Monday all you lovely Posse folks, and if you’re in the U.S., happy Labor Day to you! Since it’s a holiday here and many folks are in and out, traveling, etc., we’ll aim for short and sweet. What are your plans for the holiday, and what fragrance are you wearing? Which scents are your favorites for holidays and long weekends?

What’s your choice to wear to your neighbor’s back-yard barbecue, to that picnic in the park, or to a friend’s pool party? Or around the firepit or fireplace, for those of you who might be chilly in the Southern Hemisphere? And of course, some of you folks will be hitting the back-to-school trail after Labor Day, so do share if you’re wearing something for that.

I’ve been busy working, so have mainly worn scents for that. Mostly in Chanel (since we sell it), often Les Exclusifs 1957, and lately I’ve been wearing the heck out of their new Paris Riviera, with some Jo Malone Orange Blossom thrown in for good measure on other days.

Not much going on perfume-wise for me of late, but hope that will improve very soon with a little shopping expedition.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Monday!

Tomorrow is the first day of school for my 2nd grader, so we’re keeping it low-key today. I’m dabbing on various samples I hadn’t had time to go through, because I’m trying to quickly separate them into keepers and giveaways — I’m doing some book readings this fall, and part of the book is a sequence about perfume, and I do some giveaways to the audience to make it fun!

A quiet wind down after a lovely visit from a good friend – Wearing a bit of Armani Cuir Amethyste, as I head out to weed a border (I would say ‘or 2′ but the border I’m about to tackle is 20’x25’ so I think it’ll keep me busy for the bulk of the day.

It’s hot here in Dallas so Fragonard Verveine is the choice for my packing up the house because we’re moving and obsessively watching The Weather Channel because most of our family live in the projected hurricane strike zone day.

We’re at home today and having our young adult son over for lunch. Took our puppy to a dog park for the first time on Saturday, and he loved it. Ran, and ran, and ran, and ran with so much joy. I’m gonna try and find my vintage Dior samples today and see if I have Diorling. Wanna try it.

    Hiya Ann,
Happy Labor day to all the US Posse.
We had a very restful weekend around here. There have been quite a few new perfume arrivals so I’ve been trying to get them all on my skin. There’s only so much time though, and I don’t want to overload myself to the point of missing each fragrances magic. He He he! First world Perfumistas problems.

We just booked a holiday house in burgundy, with a small lake and a boat for the end of September. Looking forward to some reading and eating, and wine, of course…. I don’t care if my scents are a bit more intense. We have no perfume free work zones here in Germany….

It’s Labour Day weekend here in Canada too, we went on a road trip to a local lavender farm here in Québec, then apple-picking in a nearby orchard. Tomorrow, apple pie! I wore Kyse Vanille Cèdre this morning, now I’m in Arquiste Anima Dulcis.

My weekend included two football games (varsity and JV) and processing of the 3000+ photos I took of both games (I’m the unofficial team photographer). Tomorrow I have several work and volunteer projects to complete so while I don’t have go to work, I’m still working! Today was Nicolaï Eau de Corail. Tomorrow will be Chanel Paris Deauville.

Yesterday, my family and I took a mini road trip but we’re way off in what we were trying to find. Today, my parents and I went to the county fair. Fair food is a little pricey but holy crap, food was even more expensive than last year. Saturday I was awash in Epic and spent time with Noontide Petals. When my current perfume wears off, I will go ahead and put on vintage BaV. It sucks that so many retail establishments are open on every major holiday. I am one of those who has to work. Too many places market themselves to prospective employees to offer flexible schedules and are family friendly but they are not.

Yesterday I went for about 11 hours with my mom the Amish Country. I wore Ungaro Apparitions. Today was a trail ride with my horse and some chores in Cacharel Amor Amor then a bath in a pumpkin shower gel. Tomorrow I a cookout with my mom and our annual drinking of the sangria that I make from my Spanish friend’s recipe. Not sure what I will wear. Depends on my mood in the morning. Blessed weekend to you and a great day off work to those fortunate enough not to work, which is not enough people in the states since many places are open anyway even though it is a government holiday. They make us labor all the time with very little time off work and very few benefits that we pay for ourselves, including our own retirement. Yes, I am bitter about this. There is never a time when we aren’t laboring and no more American dream.
