Hey everyone — I have two friends visiting Santa Fe right now (not together) and the weekend got away from me — it’s been so much fun having someone to walk around and do tourist-y things with! I have friends I hang out with here, but I do most of my walking solo, so it’s been great to have companions who like long walks as much as I do. One friend and I spent much of this long weekend exploring Canyon Road and the nearby historic neighborhoods on foot, with these little winding streets and alleyways we didn’t even know existed — and we both lived here a couple of decades ago which is when we first met.
This morning the annual July 4 pancake breakfast returned to the Plaza, after a 2-year hiatus due to COVID. It was packed. We steered clear of the breakfast itself … I don’t even particularly like pancakes, I’m more a French toast gal. But we did walk around and look at the classic cars right there on display — here’s a photo, I thought the skeleton driving was hilarious, although I admit it doesn’t scream Independence Day.
I hope you’ve had a nice weekend and I’ll see you in a couple of weeks!
I like pancakes. When I make them. With real maple syrup and butter an enough coffee to make sure I don’t pass out from sugar rush after ten minutes.
Sounds like you had a grand time!
Enjoy yourself. Visitors are a wonderful thing after our horrid couple of years.
They really are, and I’m glad to not be the one doing the traveling!
YAY for friends to share life with March. Almost everything feels better with company. Glad to read you had a lovely time.

Thanks, hon! I do love a good explore, or a visit to an art gallery, with a friend, since I do so much of that solo!
Glad you had a good weekend with friends and stayed safe. It started out good…then Highland Park happened(10 miles from my family home) . I. Can’t. Even.
So I’mo go eat some almonds and wait for my nails to dry.
Biggest hugs, Ms A.
Oh, hon, I know. It all makes me so sad and angry. People in other countries must look at us like we are insane.
