Happy Labour Day!
I leave for my Europe trip on Tuesday.
Day one is home, to town, to London, to Brussels, and on to the night train to Vienna. I arrive in Vienna the following mid-morning – and currently it’s due to be 34 (93) degrees. The following day looks only slightly cooler. After that the temp moderates. Thank you.
I feel ice cream calling.
And a lot of water, a hat, and even my yellow travel umbrella.
Anyway, I’m gone around two weeks and this is what I’m travelling with (see pic). As I think I said a number of posts ago, I expect to do some serious retail therapy in Paris and clearly need to be able to get it home.
Perfume-wise, I’m taking one smallish bottle and two samples: Zara Vetiver Pamplemousse to spray with abandon during the insanely hot days plus Perfumer H Smoke just because I love it so much and Serge Lutens La Dompteuese Encagee because it’s so so pretty and I still haven’t been able to decide whether it only wants a decant or if I should take the deep breath on a bottle at the Palais Royale.
I’ve never been to the Lutens shop at the PR and the Jardins at the very least are on the list for a visit this trip. I’m hoping that by the time I hit Paris I’ll have managed to make a decision.
So.
I have a post ready for 9 September when I’ll be … in Berlin. Here’s hoping I manage the process so it actually shows up on the Posse that Monday.

Hope day 1 has gone like clockwork & you’re enjoying yourself. Train journeys can be both exciting and & trying. Here’s to the loo locks locking, your seats all being window seats & without a fellow passenger invading your personal space. May your rooms have silent air con, fabulous views & no noise from the bins being emptied.
If you get those everything else will be wonderful!
Jealous as all get out but hope you have a wonderful trip with loads of sights and smells (and taste)! Can’t wait to read all about it!
One day I hope we all end up on a Paris trip, a gathering. I think that would be awesome.
Oh, have an AMAZING time! Although I’m sorry it’s so hot… that sounds like an absolutely delightful trip, and good on you for leaving plenty of room for fun purchases!
Thank you. I am hopeful— though I do spend a lot of time on trains … I guess I’ll a fair bit of reading done.
Enjoy your trip, it sounds wonderful!
Thank you. Fingers crossed for smooth travel.
I’m very interested in hearing all about your trip, Cinnamon! We’re going to Paris in November, and I’m making a list of all the perfume places I want to visit. I hope you have a great time and that everything goes smoothly. Can’t wait to hear what you choose as Souvenirs, and all the delicious food, too.
I will report back. Thank you on the ‘smoothly’. Fingers very crossed.
your holiday sounds fabulous! Enjoy!
(beats learning how to spray foam insulation – which is actually more difficult than I thought)
Thanks. Best wishes with the insulation. Hope it’s a shallow learning curve.
Have a wonderful time, Cinnamon. Can’t wait to hear about the retail therapy (perfume or not) that you end up doing.
Thank you. Will take pics.
I loved the Jardins du Palais Royal. Serge Lutens’ shop is small but stellar and we even got to ascend the stairs to the 2nd floor, very cool. I could shop off and on for a few days there just trying out scents. Enjoy! What a wonderful end of summer holiday!
I am excited about the Palais Royale — even if I don’t end up buying anything.
Sounds lovely. Wishing you a fun and a great time.
Thank you. I will be a bit less twitchy once I’m on the Eurostar.
YAY! What excitement Cinnamon,
It’s going to be fabulous.
LOVE that you’re taking Vetiver Pamplemousse! Mine is ready for spring spritzing. In face you’ve chosen my SOTD. Thanks for the reminder.
Portia xx
Indeed excitement. VP is hot weather perfect.
Have a wonderful trip!
Thank you. I’m mostly packed and lower back now aches. So sitting with heating pad. Hoping things recede.
