Travelogue – Alaska

Bald Eagle near Skagway sitting in a tree. This area was full of them, young, adults, they were everywhere!!

I took these pictures while they were in flight and must have burned up about 300 frames until I got some of the ones I did. I need a better telephoto lens!

Another bald eagle in flight

Tracy Arm Fjord. It was a cloudy, misty day, pretty magical even if it was cold!

God, these birds are so majestic. I’ve gone most of my life never seeing one, and to see them on almost every tree was just amazing.

Davidson Glacier. We were probably a half a mile away from this. At the top, we saw from an aerial photo later, this thing goes back for miles.

Humpback whales!!! One on the left blowing, and the one on the right, I think, is the boy they call Spot.

See how blue those icebergs are? I know it was night, but how could the Titanic miss them?

Humpback tail flip – almost perfect – and these are harder to catch than you think!

right outside the boat, I could have almost petted him/her

Tail flipping mom, and I think that’s the baby to the left, but it could be reversed!

I would love to see an eagle like that. We have hawks around here and those are pretty awesome to see but eagles are just beautiful. Great photos.
