Prada Olfactories Nue au Soleil – Wedding Perfume

Prada Olfactories had sorta slipped past me. Colognoisseur did a review on them recently, and then I had to rethink trying them.  So far I’ve tried two, and I’m pretty stuck on Prada Olfactories Nue Au Soleil.

Prada Olfactories Nue au Soleil

It is a soaring orange blossom that is perfect for spring and for those of you planning a wedding, perfection for that special day. It starts off sparkling with a really rich undercurrent. It doesn’t lean to a sweet orange blossom, just one infused with sunlight.  There’s this almost lift to that rich pungent, warm orange blossom that keeps it from being too heavy.

If you love orange blossom, it’s one you should definitely try.

This perfume would be perfect for a wedding perfume, but it’s also great for every day wear. It’s been on my arm for the last week or so.  It’s quickly hit the top of my rather lengthy orange blossom perfume list. Here’s that post for reference if you stumble in here searching for orange blossom perfume.

Right now I believe Prada Olfactories Nue au Soleil and the others are only at Prada boutiques (hidden in the back and they look at you like you have four heads when you ask for them) and at Saks!  Yeah, Saks has them on their website.  $300’ish for 100 mls, so not the priciest scents out there, but not budget friendly either.

Winners of last week’s Art & Olfaction Award samples (Zoologist Bat and Nomaterra Cape Cod Wild Beach Rose) – Samanthal, Tiffanie, Maggiecat and Sublimisomnium. Just click on Drop Us a Note at the top, send me an e-mail, remind me of what you won and get me your mailing address. I’ll send you a quick e-mail to let you know I got your e-mail and it didn’t land in a spam filter and then get it on the way to you.

So I’ll give away sample sets of Prada Olfactories Nue Au soleil and Double Dare (didn’t talk about that one this post, haven’t had time to really get into it) to three commenters drawn at random.

Update on the master bath renovation. So far, so good!  he comes over, he works his butt off, he’s doing all the electrical and plumbing so I’m not waiting for those things to be done. The new windows are in, the sheet rock and whatever that board is for wet areas like showers tomorrow. So it’s time for me to pick out tile this week. My gorgeous, amazing tub is ordered and should be here in a week or two.  Turns out I’m gonna need a crane to get it up to the second floor of my house. Huh.  Old house, narrow hallways and stairways, it won’t come up through the interior, so they must have a crane to boom it from the alley to my deck.  Then in through the sliding glass doors and where it belongs under my new windows.  I’ve never hired a crane before, so, well, this is new!  But with any luck, I should have my bathroom all done in two weeks.  This is getting pretty exciting, let me tell you!

I’m sure you cant wait to get the bathroom all done and dusted. I do hope the men are careful with that crane! Orange blossom sounds just divine… i would love to have a sniff! thanks.

  • J. Tong says:

what a relief that your czech bathroom guy is now working on your reno, but gosh, hiring a crane? things are sounding complicated! still, it will be worth it when it’s done and you’re enjoying your beautiful tub. have you picked out the bath oil/scent to christen the bath with yet?

  • Orange blossoms, yum! Reminds me of the orange tree in my backyard when I was a kid. Curious about Double Dare now 🙂

  • Pookie says:

I love your bathroom stories! Do post pics of the crane and thanks for the draw.

  • Sun Fontaine says:

Congrats on the bathroom! That is the most exciting thing 🙂 the perfume sounds great too, hehe.

  • PrincessTonk says:

Orange blossoms fill a day with sunshine and I’d love to try a cousin of Infusion d’Iris Absolue – sign me up! Patty it seems like last time I heard about your bathtub it was a little blot of ink on a sudden brainstorm you had one night. Now it’s happening and I can’t wait to hear more about it.

  • Sapphire. says:

How exciting about your new bathroom. The Czech guy sounds like a gem. The Prada Olfactories sound good. Would like to try the iris one sometime, too. Thanks for the drawing!

  • sherobin says:

    Mandy,
Just curious…..what happened to your bathtub and floor? I’m going to be thinking about this all day.
The Prada Olfactories sound exciting, but as usual, there are too many at once! Nue au Soleil was my top pick to test! Thanks for the draw, Patty!

  • I would love to try the Prada Olfactories, thanks so much for offering the drawing!

  • Mandy says:

Have you verified that the floor beneath will hold your Precious, especially when its full of water??

Ask me how I know this is a good idea….

  • Neva says:

Hi and thank you for the draw. I’m happy that everything turned out well with your Czech guy 🙂 I wasn’t aware of the Prada Olfactories so far, so let’s see what they offer for 300 $ per 100 ml…

  • jirish says:

Tile shopping is one of my favorite things! I’d tile everything if I could. Please post pictures of your reno when it’s all done.

Why am I so behind the times in regards to Prada Olfactories?!! Nue au Soleil sounds wonderful! Your bathroom sounds fabulous! Two weeks!! Best of luck!! Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Kandice says:

Orange blossom is my all-time favorite note. I would love to try this. Thanks for the opportunity. And best of luck with the crane. It sounds like quite the adventure!

  • AnnieA says:

    Yay for cement backerboard!

  • Vanie says:

This one sounds lovely! And those flower arrangements are simply gorgeous!

Good luck with the crane… sounds slightly terrifying :/

  • Dina C. says:

So exciting to hear about the new bathroom! I echo the comments about the new Chanel No. 5 spray oil. It’s amazing stuff. I wore it all day yesterday and gloried in the beautiful scent. Also indulged in a big hefty bar of No. 19 soap, and it smells like it belongs in Heaven’s powder room. 🙂 You know, that gorgeous little bathroom you use while you’re waiting for St. Peter to check his book for your name. 😉 As far as I’m concerned, it smells like No. 19.

  • Caroline says:

New bathroom sounds uber-luxurious…you need some Carnal Flower or other decadent bath gel as an accessory! Thanks for the draw, I do love orange blossom, and have yet to find a Prada I adore.

  • Ann says:

Hi, Patty! Wowza — a crane, huh? What an exciting day that will be! You should try to videotape the whole adventure if you can (and then share with us, wink, wink).
This Prada sounds divine as I am an OB fangirl from waaay back in the day, growing up among the groves in Florida. I just passed the Prada boutique on Sunday — wish I had gone in now. Hope you are doing well. Sending hugs your way … Of course, DNEM.

    • Ann says:

P.S. Does this even remotely remind you of the magnificent, much-mourned Shalini? Or is it even heresy to ask? 😉

  • Mary says:

You had me at orange blossom. Please add me to the drawing.

  • flowergirlbee! says:

great to hear the bathroom reno is going so well..i felt nervous for you : )
i had no idea prada had released these and would love to have a sniff..
    thanks for the giveaway.

  • Koyel says:

I am so happy the new bath guy is working out!! How exciting, to have a bath tub lifted by crane. Your neighbors will be so jealous of your gorgeous new tub.

I didn’t even know Prada had an exclusive line, but I suppose that shouldn’t surprise me. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • caseymaureen says:

You’ll have to imagine you are living in Amsterdam! I’d love to try the Pradas

  • Das says:

Crane!!! Exciting and terrifying at the same time! We thought we’d have to be crane people too when we moved into our new old house last year but lucked out.
The Prada sounds lovely! I was just in the SFO airport this afternoon and passed a Prada boutique in the International terminal. Considered actually going in to peruse the perfume but as you said, I knew I’d get the 4-head-Look if I tried. Next time! Thanks for the opportunity to try it this way instead.
Much good luck with the final bath work. A beautiful bathroom is just so joy inducing, I don’t know why. 🙂

  • Ellen says:

Sounds like some interesting things going on at your house. How exciting. Thanks for the draw.

  • Marianna says:

    Would love to participate.
I had a weird experience at Prada store a few months ago. It almost felt like the sales personnel does not care about selling them? Absolutely zero help and knowledge. Very different from Armani – the salesperson there fawned over us and if he did not the answer he actually consulted the store manual. Go figure 🙂

  • Oh Patti the new bath will be amazing! When we moved into our house 14 years ago, we couldn’t get the bed up to the master bedroom, and ended up hiring 2 guys to lift/pull/push the damned thing up onto the 2nd storey deck and thru the sliding door. Of course being the PacNW, it started raining just as they started! Meh. The new Prada sounds wonderful, I love orange blossom! Currently saving up for a bottle of Dorin’s Dorina……(le sigh)

  • KimB says:

A crane adventure – do let us know how THAT goes!

Are these different than the Prada Exclusives that were also hidden in the back or only available at Liberty’s in London and other such high end stores? I loved those and bought a number of them. Exceptional examples of perfumery 🙂

    • mariekel says:

Tragically, the Prada Exclusives were discontinued and these put in their stead. I gave a few a sniff in the Prada flagship in NYC and was underwhelmed by the couple I tested. They have nothing of the dense richness of the Exclusives, and reminded me of too many other scents out there. Devastated that Prada stopped production of the Exclusives. The Violette and Benjoin were tow of my very favourite perfumes.

  • HeidiC says:

Two weeks! That’s so exciting! What bath oil or gel will you use to christen it?

The Nue au Soleil sounds Hea. Ven. Ly. And that picture you chose is just beautiful! I want to go to there!

  • Katherine says:

I’m very excited about the bath! You’ll be doing a review on bath oils in a month. Love the new Chanel no 5 bath oil. It’s dangerously wonderful. I love a sunny orange blossom! I’ll have to try it whenever I get to NYC.
