Tom Ford Private Blend line has released three new fragrances in fall 2016 – Vert des Bois, Vert d’Encens, Vert Boheme. So let’s take a look at all three, each of which has a center of green notes. Interesting angle.
Tom Ford Vert des Bois has notes of Spiked Ouzo accord, poplar buds, olive tree leaves, lentisque resinoid, roasted tonka, patchouli. It goes on really green, and there was a moment when it smelled a little Gobin-Daude. Lovely. That much greenness does back up a little, and I smell that memory of those lovely perfumes through much of the drydown. It becomes more resinous and woody. I kept thinking this would be my least favorite because I’m not a big green fan, but I was pretty fond of this. It made me shed a tear for the lost Gobin-Daudes.
Tom Ford Vert d’encens has notes of Pine resin, tree sap accord, fir balsam, incense, heliotrope, boxtree oil. It also opens really green, same Gobin-Daude memory with that tree sap and boxtree. This lands more in a pine area and a sorta green incense. Think the smell of pine burning, best way to explain it. I thought this would be my favorite, but it wasn’t. I really liked it, though.
Tom Ford Vert Boheme has notes of Galbanum, Sicilian mandarin, magnolia, honeysuckle, violet leaf, gustavia superba. I was thinking this would be tragic, but lo and behold, it wound up being my favorite. lovely galbanum on the open, smoothed out with the magnolia and honeysuckle. Really gorgeous green floral, centered more on the floral with just the right touch of green thrown in.
All three were interesting and gives some good green perfumes to this line that was missing that with the killing of Moss Breches.

Just click on Drop Us a Note at the top, send me an e-mail, remind me of what you won and get me your mailing address. I’ll send you a quick e-mail to let you know I got your e-mail and it didn’t land in a spam filter and then get it on the way to you. I’ll do a drawing from commenters for three sample sets of the new Tom Fords. Just leave a comment picking which one you think will be your favorite based on notes!
Greens are a big favourite of mine, so I’m very intrigued by these. Don’t think I could resist fir balsam, heliotrope and incense: piny, sweet, pungent _and_ warming . . . So it would need to be the Vert d’Encens
I’d go for Vert des Bois without having to think it over too much. Green, resinous and woody sounds just lovely to me. Thank you for the giveaway!
vert boheme sounds really interesting…thanks for the giveaway : )
When I read about these a few weeks ago, I guessed that Vert Boheme could be a clear favorite, depending upon what TF did with the magnolia note. I adore magnolia, but most perfumers seem to think they can go the way of a soaring gardenia, and still call it magnolia. It ain’t. I truly do not like gardenia on me, but I love the waxy, lemony white floral brightness of magnolia. Since I also love honeysuckle, galbanum and violet, and your review confirms everything I hoped this one would be, I can’t help but be excited to try it!
Galbanum and magnolia are favourites of mine too 🙂 so Vert Boheme for sure.
Ooh! Can’t wait for Vert Boheme! I think of the honeysuckle vines growing over our back fence, from childhood. Hanging out there sniffing while selecting the most succulent blossoms within reach to break open & suck the nectar. Mmm.
Vert Boheme sounds the most intriguing to me with the honeysuckle. Don’t know about the galbanum. The incense one sounds good, too. Thanks for the drawing.
Vert Boheme by far sounds magnificent. I adore galbanum, love green florals, and really love the sound of magnolia, violet leaf and honeysuckle mixed in, too. If I don’t win the drawing I think I’m going to have to break my personal rule of avoiding the Tom Ford display and search for this one! All three sound good, since I love green and woodsy scents, but the Boheme just sounds amazing.
Vert d’Encens in the one I think I’d like best, but now I believe I’ll have to try them all.
I love green notes, so it is hard to pick only one of these. I think Vert Boheme would be a winner for me because of the galbanum. But I have to say Vert des Bois sounds interesting, too. A very clear pine needle note on the other hand would not be my thing, so the Incense one is not for me,
They all three sound wonderful to me, so it’s hard to choose just one! (I love green notes). I also love woods, so I’ll say Vert des Bois would be my first choice. Thank you, Patty!
Boheme or Incense I’m thinking…hard to make a decision 🙂 I love green scents, be they grassy, mossy or more sharp (like citrus scents). Thanks for the draw!!
I’ve been itching to try Vert d’Encens since I read a very enthusiastic quick review.
Vert Boheme has me intrigued what with the magnolia and honeysuckle…two of my favorite floral notes. I’d love to try it! The only Tom Ford I’ve ever loved was Jasmine Musk, which was discontinued, sadly. Many others of his scents are intriguing, obviously well done, but just not…me. Perhaps this one will be be?
Pretty sure I’m going to like Vert Boheme because of the Galbanum, one of my favorite notes. Also the magnolia.
It was so nice having money for a little while lol! I’m a bit of a Tom Ford groupie and I’m going to try my best not to get excited over these. I have a bottle of Moss Breches that I only use on super special occasions because I don’t ever want to run out. Dare i hope that these are as lovely?
Please enter me for the sample drawing!
You had me at Gobin-Daude. It was that poplar bud note in Seve Exquis that just slayed me although I loved them all. On the basis of notes I think my favorite TF might be Vert des Bois but they all sound very interesting.
Love many green florals, so I tend to think Vert Boheme would be my preference. Thanks for the draw!
The Vert Boheme sounds most to my liking although galbanum is a love it or hate it for me. Sometimes it seems perfect and other times too much. The Vert des Bois is another that sounds interesting.
I think I would like vert des bois, but it is so hard to tell sometimes just from the notes. Green sounds like it could possibly be soothing though and that I need 🙂
Based on the notes alone, I’m a little skeptical of Vert des Bois but the other two sound pretty interesting. If I had to choose one I’d guess Vert Boheme would be my winner also.
it seems like Vert Des Bois will be my winner, but I have to try them all
thanks for the draw
Vert d’encens of course 🙂 but who knows, maybe I’ll have the same experience as you!
Spiked ouzo accord? Not sure what that is, but I want to smell it. So I think Vert des Bois would be a good choice for me. Actually, it sounds like one couldn’t go wrong with any of these. Love the green!
I’m a big fan of green perfumes so would love to try these
Based on the notes I think Vert d’Encens would be my favorite. But could be that I have a similar experience to you and end up liking Vert Boheme more 🙂
Vert Boheme sonds so interesting because of the galbanum note. Thank you!
Vert Boheme I think, just based on the notes, although I like the sound of the Encens as well. Gee, I’d love to win this one. Thanks for the giveaway.
I think Vert Boheme would be my choice! Could never resist a good floral. Thanks for the opportunity!
I looovvvve galbanum so I’m going to guess that Vert Boheme would be a winner for me. I’ve somehow never tried any Tom Fords so this would be a very interesting experience. Thanks for the draw!
I think I’d like the Vert des Bois but as you pointed out- it’s always interesting what one really likes when having the live perfume to try on.
Thanks for the draw.
Interesting direction! Vert Boheme sounds right up my alley, but lately my track record with “read about it” notes vs actual impression has not matched up at all!
Oooh, I’ve been wondering about these, since I saw them featured as part of a new Green note sampler at LuckyScent. I do love me some galbanum! Boheme sounds like it would be my fave, but I’d love to try any of them — thanks for the draw.
