I know I tend to follow the leader here on the Posse for inspiration- you would too if you had this crew. They write about something and I am lemming my way to the internets, Apple Card in my teeth, right over that cliff.
But this time I am afraid that I am also prey to the same thing devilling Musette: Allergies.
One of the perks of SoCal is that it seems to breed less allergens, or maybe the ones that are native to California have no affect to this native of New England. But the ones that do- hoo boy.

It has the Torbin seal of approval..
So this week my nose is running like a fountain and things taste kind of funny. Since I can’t really smell them I have been putting on stuff that the dogs like (my neighbors dogs like to visit, but don’t like some of my ‘fumes. Citrus is one they don’t like.) Etat Libre Tom of Finland is just manly enough to push his way on through, while they’re “Like This” just smells slightly sweet (although Torbin seems to like it)

It’s not pretty when I am feeling poorly..
I do also have a bunch of things from StC to test out. I promise to get to that as soon as my nose stops running. It’s to be hoped before summer..
Do you have allergies? How do you cope? Take OTC remedies? Do what I do? (just whine about it) Let us know in the comments.
All perfumes mentioned were purchased by me. Photos: my iPhone, Pexels, and Wikimedia Commons.

I’m allergic to tree pollen in spring. Nose runs like a stream & gritty eyes. I take OTC antihistamines. To be fair it’s no more than an inconvenience. I can still smell things.
I’ve had a couple of anaphylactic episodes to antibiotics, have histamine release syndrome & dermagraphia. I’m very cozy with those antihistamines. Now I’m retired I don’t carry an Epipen as the risk of randomly coming across the antibiotics in the wild is unlikely.
Wow- I get the gritty eyes as well. So much fun.
Mine have been downgraded to Allergy Watch, blessed be! Still saline flushes and Betadine swabs daily, JIC!
Hope you’re feeling better, soon.
:: tell your dog I said hi! – it’s the only sticker I have on Edgar and is almost as good as ‘Tell your mother I hate you!’. Almost
I will tell the pooch “hi” but hes my neighbors. I get all my neighbors dogs stopping in to say hello.
Hey Tom,
Jin and Kath have allergies that they are consumed by when they’re happening. It’s awful to watch. Jin is also allergic to some mosquito bites and they drive him bonkers, they also love his blood.
So, while I don’t suffer, I’m full of sympathy and understanding for your plight.

Mines not the worst. I just hate that things taste off. Good for the diet though
I’ve had allergies since I was a kid: trees, grasses, ragweed, a couple foods, several meds, cats, dogs, you name it. I take nasacort, Xyzal, nasal saline rinses, and now some asthma meds because I developed asthma in the last few years. I’m a big fan of air conditioning and staying indoors! You have my sympathy.
I am a very big fan of AC.
No allergies here. No one in my family has/had them that I know of. My daughter said she recently was tested for any and all allergies, for another matter – said they used both arms for tests and her back. Absolutely nothing.
I do hope that everyone starts feeling better soon!!!
Mine’s ragweed and pollen. More annoying than life-threatening.
Those “allergies” for us turned out to be the new Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV). It started with about a week of very low grade sniffles, nothing much. Turned into a hellish respiratory illness that caused pneumonia. I’m still recovering three weeks later. The beginning was very innocuous. Good luck. Hope out stays low-level, allergies and all else.
Well I hope you’re back to 100% soon..
I am allergic to dogs, cats, dust mites and a type of antibiotic. In the US, I had shots so I could manage with the cats (now long gone). I’m better with dogs. No real issue with plants, though if things here get very pollen-y life can get a bit uncomfortable.
I do have a problem with cats sometimes. Oddly enough, it’s better for me if people don’t attempt to clean beforehand. I had a friend who (partially) bought a Dyson vacuum thinking it would help. It helped aerosolize the cat dander..
I do allergy shots which were working until about a week ago, I’ve been in comments whining. I wear a hat, N95 and protective eyewear when outside, plus Flonase and Allegra, which is helping, but man it’s bad. Hang in there!
Luckily mine aren’t nearly that bad.
