Hey all — I’m on vacation. So here’s a photo of Anita’s ridiculous sunflower that’s eleven feet tall. (For reference the peach tree is eight feet.) It makes me think of Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. I made the image linkable so you can click on the up-close craziness; note that it is literally growing up between two bricks, where it volunteered. See you soon!
Is that sunflower a Russian Giant? I’m so envious, I can only grow them to 3 feet on my sand dune before the wind Cuisinarts them. Had an EF0 tornado this weekend, there went my garden AGAIN!
Enjoy!
Incidentally, I am on vacation as well… with The CEO, who is doing a second interview with the Extension service at University of Hawai’i on Kauai. I’m not sure whether to hope he gets the job or not — it’s utterly gorgeous here. But remote. And expensive. And far away from family. And might mean dragging our high schooler here away from the really good theater arts and cross country/track programs he loves (although it is possible that our oldest might be going to grad school near home and could serve as his guardian there instead).
THat is an AMAZING sunflower, Miss A.
You can’t stop mother nature! Beautiful sunflower. Hope you’re having a relaxing vacation.
Ha! Love it! That is one determined sunflower!
That’s amazing! Hope you’re having a great time away from work, March.
Wow!
Ha, its little head all the way up there! Have a great holiday.
