This ‘N That

First off, sorry this was posted late- I was dog-tired and didn’t upload it. As a matter of fact I fell asleep right after the new “Will and Grace.” (which I enjoyed.)

Apparently there is a new Frederic Malle out called “The Night” that costs the earth. I haven’t seen it yet and at $1500 I will likely be ignoring it. A Facebook post was up from someone who stopped by a shop to smell it and apparently the SA wouldn’t let them try it on skin- just spritzed a card. Really? JAR doesn’t go that far. Do you have to be pre-qualified to try it?

Barney sent me an email proudly proclaiming that there is a new skin care line put out by of all people Madonna. Now I have been a fan of hers for a long time but I don’t think that necessarily translates into spending the earth on a skin care line she put her name to, especially $180 for something called a “magnetic flow” device that looks like a chunky spoon Elsa Peretti might have designed.

In other news, I was in line at Greystone for the Mayor’s State of the City event when a man from a local car dealership asked if I was interested in a 24 hour test drive of a Rolls Royce. I had to decline. I’m sure it is a magnificent car but it also cost more that I made in the last few years and god forbid I dented it. Not to mention what my neighbors would think if suddenly $300k deep purple Rolls showed up in my space, even for 24 hours..

So how was your week?

To get a skin spritz, you have to spend some to get some, basically.

Read “Bringing Home the Birkin” by Michael Tonello. He tells you how he gets on the inside track ( but in the hand bag business) by using some reverse psychology and greasing of the palms. The books’ an hilarious read and an eye opener.

I was too. The premiere made me laugh out loud a couple of times.

Glad you enjoyed “Will & Grace” too. We were big fans back in the day.

The Night has been out for a couple of years, I know I smelled it at Barneys in San Francisco at least a year ago – and they had a tester out on the counter. Way too potent for my tastes. Wonder who is only offering a card spray? Very chintzy of them.

The temps have finally dropped here in Montreal and I am finally able to enjoy my fall scents and wear a pair of boots. Yay!

      Interesting-

I didn’t see it at the Barney’s website, just Harrods. I’ll have to look for it.

Glad your temps dropped! Wish they would here!
