What are you Bringing Back for Winter and giveaway winners

So I pulled out one of my all-time favorite perfumes yesterday and remembered all the reasons that I love it. I hadn’t worn it much the last few years, maybe worn it too much? Better suited for winter months? Forgot? Yeah, that one.  Ormonde Jayne Ormonde Woman is so close to being The One for me that I should just call it that, but I love so many others too.   Ormonde Woman is like the best version of me or a me I want to be.  I always feel more of everything when I wear it.

It is also perfect for the new fall crispness in the air.   I put it on, loved on it, then picked up the sweater today I had worn yesterday and fell even more in love with it.  Perfect.

So what is your favorite fall scent that you leave along for a while just so you can fall in love with it all over again?

I have a ton of giveaways to announce winners for!

Areej Le Dore sample set – Valerie

Let’s Ask Patty for Something – Sharon for Twilly d’Hermes. That one was fun, we should do it more often!  Or March should, except that means I’ve been lame and didn’t get a post up.

Favorite skin/face oils samples – Koyel

Random choice – Scent Spirit and AnnieA

Cire Trudon sample set – TaraC and Maggiecat

Lord, my giveaways sorta got away from me this last month, sorry!

So all you winners – click on Drop Us a Note at the top, send me an e-mail, remind me of what you won and get me your mailing address (Figment winners tell me if you want the man or woman_. I’ll send you a quick e-mail to let you know I got your e-mail and it didn’t land in a spam filter and then get it on the way to you.

I haven’t done an October grabbag giveaway yet, so let’s do that. I’ll draw a random commenter for this grabbag.

  • Riva says:

There’s just something about the crisp cold in Fou d’Absinthe that I really enjoy in the fall and winter! Also, Atelier’s Vanille Insensee is a winter favorite.

  • Jen says:

Mitsouko for our too short fall and winter.

  • Tara C says:

Yay, I won the Cire Trudon sample set, thank you!!

  • AnnieA says:

Whee, I won something! Too bad I can’t remember what. Still quite splendid!

  • Nemo says:

Chergui! I have heard it is good in hot weather, too, but I associate it so closely with fall and winter I haven’t tried that yet.

  • SHMW says:

I love Ormonde woman so much. It’s so good it made me NEED other great perfumes because it’s too perfect, too special to wear all the time……. at least that’s my excuse.

  • crystesmom says:

Wow! Michelle J Little almost completed my answer. Here’s to all of us who have exquisite taste! I would have to add my Papillons (marinating in Dryad as I speak, oooh Heaven!). Also pulling out all my leathers, woods, tobbacos and smokes! I live for the autumn! Also, I’m almost ready for my De Profundis. Thank you so much for the draw.

  • Marianna says:

Thanks for the draw. I bring back all of my ambers and tobaccos: Ambre Loop, Ambre Russe, box of Eels, Ambra Aurea to name a few

  • I loooove Ormonde Jayne Woman, I need to wear it again soon. My favorites to bring out after some time are usually my precious very old vintages like My Sin and Narcissa Noir. And No 5 and Arpege. I also like my big bold ’80’s like Coco (non-reform) and Samsara and Salvadore Dali the original, and Paloma Picasso. Yum.

  • Gigi says:

I love OJ Woman, it is a beauty!
My cold temp only fave would probably be Coromandel. Wore some the other day after many months apart and was smitten all over again. My bottle of the EDT is getting dangerously low though and m a bit afraid of the changes to the EDP!

  • Kathleen Smith says:

I just found my sample of OJ Woman and look forward to trying it. I hope I get the same wonderful experience as you! You pups are adorable in their bee outfits. I thought about getting my pup a costume but he’s still too young and playful and would surely tear it off and play with it. Maybe next year! I’m amazed how many chose Coco as their special fall fragrance. I’ve been wearing it for the past two weeks and it makes me so happy with the cooler mornings and evenings.

  • Rosemary says:

I may die of puppy cuteness overload! 🙂 Geez, now I really wanna smell Ormonde Woman! I haven’t sampled anything from Ormonde Jayne yet. Thanks for the Chance!

  • Anna says:

Today I brought out the original Donna Karan Black Cashmere in the bottle that looks like a smooth black stone. It is still good.

  • maggiecat says:

Agreeing with you 100% on OJ Woman! Beautiful scent, very nearly my HG, and perfect for cooler weather (which I hope comes and stays here very soon!)

  • Jane says:

Coco EDT. I’m enjoying it now even though we’re having unusually warm weather.

  • SunnyDay says:

Now that the weather has cooled off I can wear my beloved Coromandel.

  • Kate E. says:

I just wore SJP Stash again for the first time since spring. It got a little weird on me in the warmer months but it’s cozy and warm again in the cooler temps.

  • AnnJune says:

Hooray for fall.… currently loving TF Shanghai Lily, Coco EDT, and No 5 EP. Waiting on a sample of Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours I briefly smelled in Nordstrom and a decant of Trudon Olim to test drive a bit more before taking the plunge (perfect fall warmth and spice).

  • Bastet says:

Just getting cool enough here to pull my fall favorites out of storage, including Coco, Epic, Lyric, Chinatown and Cinema.

  • yvonen says:

Excited for some great suggestions for fall fragrances 🙂 🙂

  • Vanie says:

    Cut puppies!! ?
Bois des Iles extrait; luuuuvh it, but too precious to wear on a daily basis.

  • JH says:

I liked Ormonde Jayne Man and Woman. They last long but the projection is really too minimal. After a while I had to stick my wrist to my nose to be able to smell them.

  • Neva says:

To me fall calls for woody scents so I pull out Feminite du Bois, my favourite colder weather perfume.

  • MaureenC says:

There is a BBC radio programme called desert island discs, the premise is that you can take eight records with you but at the end of the show you have to choose one. The one you’d dive into the sea to rescue as the box is washed away. Ormonde Woman is that perfume for me, it has the extraordinary capacity to make me smell like me in the same way that it does for you. Amazing

  • nicevulady says:

Love your fur babies. Evenings are starting to be cool. I am so happy, because Fall and Winter are the seasons for most of my fragrances. Thanks for the draw.

  • eldarwen22 says:

I am starting to bring out Amouage Gold, Epic, and Memoir (all women) for fall. Andy Tauer LADDM is wonderful around a bonfire. Thanks for the draw!

  • Roberto says:

Fall? Today in LA was 97…
So tired of hot weather. Today wearing Selection Verte. The only thing i can wear these days…

  • Jennifer S. says:

When fall comes round again I look forward to greeting my Aromatics Elixir. I love when I step outside and the cool air carries the aroma all around me!
Such patient bees! Thanks for the draw!

  • verbenaluvvr says:

Fall is time for Solstice Scents–Butter Rum Mallow, Sycamore Chai, and Pumpkin Spice Latte. YUM!!!

  • audesko1 says:

Wow a grab bag! Thanks for the chance!

  • RoseMacaroon says:

From SOIVOHLE: Purple Love Smoke, Meerschaum, 12 Keys, and Carpathian Oud; Olympic Orchids Woodcut; and Providence Perfume Company’s Samarinda (loving the spiced orange-coffee-rum melange for slightly chilly weather). I’ll have to try ON Woman some time! Thanks for the draw!

  • Tiara says:

Look at those babies–too cute! Last week I pulled out the stopper from my OJ Woman decant and proceeded to dump it all on my nightgown. I almost cried but when I realized I missed my dresser, decided to look on the bright side. Did smell good though.

  • HeidiC says:

Look at your beeeees! Too cute! I’ve been pulling out the Cuir de Russie and Coco, which make me feel just gorgeous. Thank you for the draw!

    • Kathleen Smith says:

Heidi, your fall fragrances choices are exactly mine! I’ve been wearing my beloved Coco for the past couple of weeks, EDT during the day and EDP at night. And, I’m going to Dallas this weekend and plan to visit the Chanel Boutique (sadly we don’t have one in Denver) and will add Cuir de Russie to my Les Exclusives collection.

  • catherineadams653004887 says:

Today was the first day of me feeling that fall crispness—and I love it! I’m diving back into my four beloved winter scents: Baccarat Les Larmes Sacrées, Ormonde Jayne’s Orris Noir, and Diptyque’s L’Eau Trois and another one, both of which I layer together. Yum.

  • Sarah says:

YESSSSS — the puppies-so so so delicious.
Ormande Jane I must try. I know what you mean by your best self in a perfume. I feel that way in MFK 754.

  • MMKinPA says:

SSS Champagne des Bois is a perfume I bring out in the fall. It has just gotten cooler here so I’ll be reaching for it soon! Thanks for the draw!
