Under the weather/clean-up Monday

Sorry, all you lovely Posse folks, but I’ve been a bit under the weather the last day or two with some tummy issues (something didn’t agree with me, I’m thinking). That, plus all the holiday clean-up/take the tree down/ pack up the ornaments stuff, and a grueling week of retail, and I’m done for. Anyhoo, I’m really dragging, so I’m sorry that I’ve got nothing much for you.

Just curious: What is your go-to, remedy-wise, when an upset tummy (and parts lower) strikes or you’re just feeling under the weather in general? What food or meds do you turn to? I considered Pepto Bismol but decided that although I was feeling icky, I wasn’t hurting quite THAT much. Red tea (rooibos) has seemed to help, as well as mint tea.

Hope you all are doing well and enjoying your 2020 so far. See you next week.

Tea with a little lemon, Apple juice, chicken broth, rice.  And a lemony fresh scent (just a spritz), like Fragonard’s Verveine

  • Tiffanie says:

I like ginger tea, or candied ginger from Trader Joe’s, or Dr. Schulze’s digestive tonic for tummy troubles. Hope you are better quickly! 😀

  • March says:

Stomach bugs are the WORST.  I am so sorry.  We start with ginger ale and/or ginger tea, then ease our way into Saltines or plain rice, and bananas.

  • Musette says:

DagNABBIT!  Sorry you’re under the weather, sweetie!  Mint tea~ that’s my go-to.  Plain saltines (especially if I have stomach issues but need to get something on that stomach before dry heaves set in).  Toast with a quick, thin slick of butter.  That’s pretty much it.

    Hope you’re better, soonest!

    Hey Ann,
    Sorry to rrad you’re poorly.
When we had upset stomachs Mum would give us dry cracker biscuits, tea and lemonade. It always worked so I continue the remedy to this day.

Lots of water!  Feel well soon Ann!

  • Filomena says:

My tummy is rarely in that situation since I am of Italian descent and most of my diet is Italian, French or other European cuisine.  But whenever I get sick from a cold or flu, I am in the same mindset and feeling as you, including perfume.

    • Amateur Dilettante says:

Oh I’m so sorry! When I’m sick I like no scent at all and echinacea tea. Lots of water is also good if you can stomach it.
