Mother Nature is still feeling obstinate and it’s not quite full spring here. Lot of wind. Each day I have to collect twigs in the garden either blown down by the wind or dropped by the birds.

Anyway, I’ve been playing with two fragrances but don’t feel like writing about them yet so today we’re grazing.
Lots of bitty things in my world.
The dog has a dogter visit this week which is this surgery’s last chance to show they are competent and trustworthy. They used to be brilliant but were purchased by the UK arm of a big US company (this seems to be happening with vet surgeries here) and have become discombobulated (eg, forgetting to enter vaccine details into their ‘new’ system and telling me Joe had missed his jabs – thankfully, I had the paper record for them – plus I think they’ve lost a number of good vets fairly recently). There’s a newish local independent vet nearby that some people I know have moved to from other practices. I will go have a chat with them.
There’s a new café/bakery on the coast that makes awesome sandwiches using pizza dough as the base. These are folded over (so half moon shape) with interesting and very tasty fillings. The place is hidden (sort of) behind one of the local banks.
And there’s a newly opened Turkish deli in town which I plan to check out soon.
It’s interesting what is closing down in this area (older, more established, less interesting chain places) and what is popping up (new independent café style places with interesting food and good coffee).
I’m still sad about my favourite bakery closing soon though.
In the midst of all this I’m collecting the data for my tax return. That goes in early May and then accountant gets to play with things.
Anyway, the spring flowers are springing and the village is starting to smell really good. There’s still a hint of woodsmoke, but mixed with florals now.

We’re in the middle of school Easter holidays. Another week and the young’uns go back. The traffic and the craziness should ease. In theory, the weather should settle.
In between testing samples, I’m wearing a lot of Aromatics Elixir. Is it the witching season? The land of in-between?

The weather is driving me nuts! April showers? More April bucketing & sideways winds in Yorkshire.
I have no idea what scent to wear, not just the weather but DH is super sensitive to anything perfumey at the minute
We have been getting a lot of “in between” weather here. Hot during the day, downright chilly at night. Rain on and off this weekend. It actually was lovely- I got some things done and caught up with friends. Hope the pup sitch works out.
It IS the in-betweens! It sounds like a lovely time, smell-wise though. Finding a good vet is HARD here. A lot of them aren’t even taking new patients. I got lucky that one opened when I first got Coco and I like her (the vet, and also the dog.)
That would be the Witching of DOOM for me. I … appreciate… the ingenuity and beauty of Aromatics Elixir… but OMG! Such a migraine it gives me!
Those sandwiches sound very interesting Cinnamon. More Aromatics Elixir is exactly what we all should be wearing. You’ve inspired me for tonight.
Vet services are such a crap shoot. We used to have a superb local crew but somewhere along the line the good vets started leaving and there are only locums who have zero history with the dogs and don’t really seem to care so we changed BUT the other two we have tried are not much better. GRRR.

That exactly: a crapshoot. And it occurred to me after I visited this new one to check it out that as there’s only one vet you actually see the same person each time. Now, that may mean waiting longer for an appt but it should get you continuity of care. I can’t remember the last time I’ve gotten the same vet twice in a row at Joe’s current surgery.
The half moon sandwiches are outstanding.
