Place holder

I am away this week – and I didn’t manage to focus on a proper post. So, a place holder.

Happy May Day a bit late. I have two lily of the valley blooming this year, as opposed to just one last year.

This was a pretty spur of the moment trip. Readers may recall me discussing my time away this year would revolve around when I would be told the memorials (Stolpersteines — see here) for my mother and maternal grandparents would be ready and I would be in the southern German town where they had lived before escaping to the US. Well, the charity that does this is very (very) busy this year. So, my memorials have been pushed back to (probably) spring 2027.

I found this out about a month ago, had a small hissy fit, and then pitched around for a day before deciding I just needed to get away in any case. A change is as good as a rest, as they say here.

So, a whirlwind of organising and a week elsewhere. Arranging hotel and travel a month in advance as we’re moving into high tourist season is a bit complex. But, I managed it and I’ll talk about ‘where’ on my return. I am taking two decants: Perfumer H Smoke left over from London earlier this year and a player to be named later. Might be NVC Eshal, might be Aromatics Elixit, might be Bellodgia… We shall see.

So, here’s to a good week for all of us.
