Crack in the Morning! Hermes Terre d’Hermes

Quick perfume review — Hermes new Terre D’Hermes. If Vetiver Tonka is my crack, this one is like Crack In the Morning. Jean Claude has somehow combined the most addictive elements of Vetiver Tonka and Un Jardin Sur le Nil. It has that velvety smoothness of VT that I adore and then that subtle tang that makes your nostrils flares and your eyes open a little wider of Sur le Nil.

Crack in the morning — wakes you up and then smooooooooths you right out for the day. Lovely juice. I have no idea why they think this is a men’s scent. It is great for a man or woman, but my husband is going to have to pry it out of my hands.

Not sure where all it is being sold yet, I got my bottle of Hermes Terre d’Hermes directly from Hermes, but I assume it and samples are available at the Hermes boutiques and will be showing up at your Pricier Department Stores throughout the world shortly.

    Thank you, thank you, mwah!!
    😡

  • March says:

Well, Patty, you should probably send me some just in case.:d

Hey, you can include it as one of the Mystery Scents!:-?

I love these new emoticons, can you tell:x

PS Vetiver just sometimes does that weird herbal thing on me. Ya never know, though.

  • Patty says:

Absolutely makes sense. There are some earthy/woodsy tones in this, but i do think I’m going to try just combining the two and see what happens. This one just seems to have the best of them, and I’m too lazy to double spritz most morning. 🙂

I love J-CE, but I am not rushing out to try this.

Why?, you may ask. I guess I am a bit confused by the fact that three or four of his recent fragrances seem to smell the same: Bigarrade, Divine Bergamote, Un Jardin sur le Nil and Osmanthe Yunnan. Since I already have several of the above named fragrances, I just can’t see springing for another one.

    Does that make sense?

Maybe I should layer VT with Jardin sur le Nil to get the same fragrance and save my money. $-)

    Hugs!

  • Patty says:

But of course! The Hermes website ordering thing was lighthing fast.

If you love what Jean Claude has done with most Hermes scents, you are guaranteed to love this one too. My husband isn’t over the moon about Vetiver Tonka, though he likes it, and he really swooned on the Terre because it also has that woodsy/earthy thing going on.

Oh my, oh my. It’s as if evry single word of this review was written to ensure that I purchase a full bottle completely untested and unsniffed.

    Fabulous new look, BTW!

  • Patty says:

March, are you sure?!?! How could my beloved VT smell like crushed tarragon? It smells like black velvet.

I think you should try this one. There some tang like Sur le Nil, and it’s earthier, but just as smooooth as VT, so maybe the tarragon smell will be rendered lovable?

  • Patty says:

Marina, I think this one is definitely you. I tucked in a sample of it in your de Rosine I put in the mail today.

  • March says:

Vetiver Tonka smells like crushed tarragon on me. :((
Sur Le Nil, though …. aaaahhhhhhhhhh.

  • Marina says:

Can’t wait to try this one. I have a feeling I am going to love it.

  • Patty says:

Thanks, Cindy and Cait! We like the new place a lot. 🙂

    Mike, I think it’s running about $90.

  • Mike says:

Fantastic brend and very funny name 🙂
    How it will cost?

  • cait says:

Yum. You have a way of getting to the point. Makes me want it in my hand right now. You two look fabulous, by the way, but I’m sure you know that.

  • CindyN says:

    Patty and March,
Nice new look to the site!
