Project Face

Hey, look, I have eyes!!!  And without makeup.  Normally when I would smile, my squinting would make my eyes completely disappear. so that they are still visible, even with some remaining swelling, is just outstanding.  The chin has a funky thing on it.  Some scar tissue normally forms around the site where they put in the canula (sp?), so I use warm compresses and massage to work that out quicker, though they say it will resolve itself even without that over the course of about three months.  But that’s why there’s the little almost cleft in the chin, the scar site is in the middle, and there there is a little bit of overscarring on each side that I’m massaging out, and there is still swelling from the chin back to the neck that very slowly is disappearing.  All the makeup I have on my face is a little MUFE Body and Face Foundation, that gorgeous new Chanel blush, and I put on Trish eyeshadow base and groomed my eyebrows.  The scar is there in the crease, but with my eyes open, you can barely see it, and it is disappearing more every day, but anyone looking can easily find it still.

For those of you keeping score or who just need to be updated that are new to the site, this is what I’ve done to my face in the last year or so:

  • Juvederm in the lips and a little on the side of my mouth running to my chin that has a crease

  • IPL laser (about 3-4 treatments) to help broken capillaries and sun damage

  • Lipo of the jowls

  • Upper Bleph

What I think I still want to do:

Fill in the tear troughs under the eye with juvaderm and… well, I think that’s it!  It’s been an interesting two weeks, with one bad low as I looked in the mirror and thought… what have I done?!?!?! and the feeling now that it was worth it, and the change is a good one that will just keep getting better.

Scented Note:  I was out shopping for the new Smokey Eyes from Chanel quad today, along with their new mascara, and I looked and looked for some new, interesting perfumes to smell… and nada.  Harfumph. So instead I’m here to tell you that the new beige/chocolate brown Chanel quad that’s the LE for Christmas is TDF.  Get on a wait list now.  I’ve only seen the picture of it, but all the Chanel quads are so much more beautiful in person, so I’ll buy this one as soon as someone will take my money for it.  I really have a serious addiction to the Chanel quads, it’s a sickness, truly.  Okay, me below with my eyes on, and this is th enew Chanel Smokey Eyes quad, which dark grays/blacks normally are much too dark on me, so that I can get by with this dark of an eye is either due to the surgery or to that lovely Chanel quad.. or both!

Yikes, you need some rest, my friend!

Look at those eyes! Gorgeous, Dahling. Good for you ;)

      Thank you!!!

My, what big eyes you have, darling :)

Seems that the “procedure” was a great success-and you look just fabulous!

I’ma gonna have to hunt down that Chanel quad, since they are a really-should-have, if not must-have; the fall set with teal and plum is already mine :d/

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 13:58 (Reply)

      They DID get bigger!

Love that fall Chanel quad. As soon as I spied it, I snagged it in a heartbeat. Have you seen the new Dior quint, Iridescent Leather or something like that? Also gorgeous.

I just want that new Chanel Holiday one now. I still cherish the Winter Nights one that came out two years ago, it is just truly perfect.

    You do look truly fantastic:x

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 13:59 (Reply)

      Thank you, Dahlink!

  5. Francesca on 26.08.2008 at 05:53 (Reply)

Your eyes look gorgeous. I can’t believe it’s only a couple of weeks.

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:00 (Reply)

They do heal fast! The scar is still there, and when I put on eyeshadow, I can plainly see it, but every day it fades a little more. Once I can use the scar fading stuff in another week and a half, they should fade even quicker!

  6. Dusan on 26.08.2008 at 07:13 (Reply)

P, you look sooo good! esp in that last photo. What eyes, what a smoldering look, in a word - sexey!

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:02 (Reply)

I’m not sure I’d go that far. With makeup, I notice the deep tear troughs more. :)

Yeah, yeah, fix one thing, then something else that didn’t bother you before sticks out like a sore thumb. We’re just never, ever happy.

  7. Jealous Judith on 26.08.2008 at 08:26 (Reply)

Jeepers, creepers, where’d you get those peepers? Jeepers, creepers, where’d you get those eyyyyyyes?!!! Love ‘em! And it’s comforting for me to see that they healed so quickly! After-surgery pictures usually scare me.

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:03 (Reply)

Well, I did have a couple of pictures taken about four days after surgery that would have made y’all run from the blog crying. Pretty horrific, black stitches, I looked like FrankenEyes.

But the healing has been very quick and fast and easy, no pain at all.

I think it’s wonderful that you’re sharing with us. Looks to me like you have some great docs who really know what they’re doing, too! I’ll have to check out the Chanel Quads. I am addicted to their nail polishes – the stuff is as chip proof as it gets – but have never tried any of their make up. Someone mentioned the fall set with teal and plum? I’m going plum crazy for fall.

    1. Louise on 26.08.2008 at 10:25 (Reply)

Oh, the fall quad is so pretty-a gold, a peach, a deep teal, and a brownish plum…hurry, it’s a stunner :d/

    2. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:04 (Reply)

Get the fall quad, it is a perfect daily shadow, seriously. I think I need to get all the Chanel quads from now on, there’s just something for every occasion in one of them, but then the trouble is organizing them!

  9. March the Impressed on 26.08.2008 at 08:59 (Reply)

You look like you are in your 30s. Great work (and the MUFE is awesome on you, what shade did you use? And what great new Chanel blush? Perfect color for you.)

I am still admiring your skin. The IPL was awesome.

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:06 (Reply)

30s? Um, no, don’t think so, maybe 40, 39 if I really, really pushed it or you cross your eyes just right, but I’m content to just look like a young my age. I’m very okay with being 48.

The Chanel blush is called Rose Dust, I think? The MUFE I got in the same color you did, and it’s really perfect for looking like your skin, but better.

  10. Christine on 26.08.2008 at 09:22 (Reply)

Just here to say you look great! And I’m going to echo March here, but your skin is amazing! really!

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:07 (Reply)

YOu think? Thanks@ I never think of myself as having amazing skin, nor do I think of it as bad skin either, but it certainly is a heck of a lot better post-IPL. I’m ready for another round of it.

  11. Melissa on 26.08.2008 at 09:53 (Reply)

Wow! It’s been great to follow your progress. The dark smoky look really works-probably a combination of enough lid space and the magic of Chanel. Now I want to look like I’m in my thirties again too! :((

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:09 (Reply)

Okay, that’s really sweet. :) Now I need to go to work on the stuff that a surgeon’s knife can’t fix like.. my thighs!

  12. Elle on 26.08.2008 at 12:41 (Reply)

You’re looking stunning! You remind me of Patty Hansen (Hanson?), the model who married Keith Richards.
Thanks for posting these pics! You’ve helped take away a *lot* of my bleph fears.

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 14:11 (Reply)

See, it’s easy, you can do it. Just plan to hole up for a week, then keep a couple of beautiful Hermes or Chanel scarves and fabulous sunglasses around for the week after that just in case or for bad days.

I couldn’t be happier even at this point, so any additional reduction in swelling in both areas will just move me right into over the moon happy territory.

  13. zara on 26.08.2008 at 13:59 (Reply)

looking gooood :) so it was all worth it, i’m glad it turned out so well (just think of all the horror plastic surgery stories :o) hope all the swelling will disappear in the days to come.

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 16:16 (Reply)

I feel incredibly fortunate to have the surgeon and care that I did. This is just one are that nobody should try and do on the cheap. It’s your face!!!!

  14. Devon on 26.08.2008 at 15:34 (Reply)

WOWOWOWOW. whatta difference already !! Huge congrats and enjoy. Honestly you look terrific!!!!!!

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 16:17 (Reply)

      Thanks, Devon!

  15. bella on 26.08.2008 at 15:53 (Reply)

You look great!! Love the make-up.
I am thinking that instead of going on vacation, I will get lipo under the chin as well. I want to post-pone the inevitable for as long as possible.

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 16:17 (Reply)

You know, I would totally trade a vacation for no jowls. :)

  16. Tara on 26.08.2008 at 16:04 (Reply)

If you haven’t tried it already, run down and try the Chanel quad Bleus Celestes - totally fantastic! There is a gorgeous pale pink and 3 shades of blue. Awesome.

    1. Patty on 26.08.2008 at 16:18 (Reply)

Okay, I just looked that one up on Ebay, and I normally don’t do blue, but I think that really could work. Chanel’s colors tend to wind up working most of the time, even when I think they won’t.

  17. tmp00 on 26.08.2008 at 21:56 (Reply)

    You look fabulous!

  18. Kathryn on 26.08.2008 at 22:35 (Reply)

I just knew you had a glint in your eye after reading your wonderful posts. Now in your “after” pictures, we can see that sparkle! You look great. Thanks for sharing all you have learned about these procedures. As usual, useful and fascinating information.

I appreciate your frankness about this–it is rare. Your eyes look great!
