    Jet lag

    July 14, 2010

I’m going to beg off today on a post, and my apologies.  Traveling back always takes a lot more out of me than I think it will, and I can barely keep my poor eyes open.

I do promise pictures of the scarves on Tuesday!

What perfumes perk you up when you are just dog tired? Or can perfume even do that?

SCARF PIX NOW NOW NOW! MORE FAST NOW!

Um. Sorry. I’ll try to control myself.

No. 19 always seems to give me some added backbone when necessary, and I would think it would help me, at least to some degree, with alertness.

Ha! I’m just getting here and read this. I was really dragging today and put on some #19 and posted to FB that I had done that and wasn’t sure why. Now I guess I know!

Ah, the perfume of my first cup of coffee in the morning. Then, a nice big shot of fresh air. And maybe something green and/or citrusy, like Papyrus de Ciane or that Sisley Eau De Campagne.

      Or…a nap?

    3. Ninara Poll says:

      *hugs* Rest well!

You don’t need perfume, you need 12 uninterrupted hours.

Iris Silver Mist is good when I need to focus. Nothing helps when I’m that tired.

    5. Fiordiligi says:

Glad you got home safely! Don’t worry about posting until you have caught up on sleep (I can say that as I’ve seen some of the scarves….).

A good dose of vintage Mitsy will be just what the doc ordered!

    6. Todd T says:

Well I have Guerlain’s Vetiver Body wash, its an eye opener. Then a spritz of Vetiver once out of shower. Awake for atleast a couple of more hours.

    7. karin says:

Welcome back, Patty! Looking forward to your trip report. :-)

Frivolous, fun scents that make you smile *might* keep you awake when you’re tired. Juicy Couture always makes me happy. And I haven’t worn it in awhile, but Nanette Lepore in the pink bottle does the same.

    8. Ruanne says:

An icy cold spritz of Jean Nate down the front of my shirt is what I reach for around 4:00 in the afternoon these days. That or Tea Rose (probably because it reminds me of waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed in 9th grade.) Hey-I just had an idea. I’m going to go put my Tea Rose in the fridge.

    9. ScentRed says:

I definitely believe in the perk me up powers of fragrance.

Perk me up on a cold winter day – Bois des Iles
Perk me up on a sweltering day – Bigarade Concentree or L’Eau de Sud
Perk me up on a cold rainy day – DK Gold
Perk me up on a warm/hot rainy day – TCD Bois D’Iris
Perk me up, I’m bored – Creed Acqua Fiorentina, L’Artisan Piment Brulent, Tocca Bianca

Hope some rest and a good spritzing will help you feel more like yourself :-)

      Get your Zzzzzzs!

Anisia Bella from the fridge gets me going-to the coffee pot ; )

Do you think it would work well enough to prevent me from putting dog kibble in there instead of coffee?

    11. tammy says:

Nothing in this world (or any other, for that matter) can keep me awake when I am sleepy; you go get you some sleep!

    12. Musette says:

What Tammy Said. Though sometimes I have to just power through (like right now). I’m finding Marc Jacobs Lemon works just fine. Guerlain Vetiver (the original) or l’Imperiale.

Cartier Brillante is def an eye-opener. A bit more demanding than the Jacobs. Not as ‘nice’ as the Guerlains. Kinda bitchy in the drydown, if you are incorrectly dressed and/or insufficiently appreciative.

      go get some sleep!

      xoxo >-)

ps. did you buy a handbag? or three? You know I am all about the handbags!

      tammy Reply:

Which reminds me I am WELL overdue in thanking you for mentioning Agraria Bitter Orange…your comparison to Constant Comment, which I love, intrigued me enough to get a sample vial. LOVE it!

It’s wearing very well in the heat, and I loved it in the winter, as well.

      Musette Reply:

That stuff is killah, innit? I just talked with them (via email) – they are OUT of it (insert ‘waaah!!!!’ emoticon here) but should have it back in stock in the next month or so. I’m down to a few mls, parsing it out….

      …hanging on…

…btw, doyou know that I have never even considered it for winter? Isn’t that weird? I think it’s because I always think of Constant Comment in iced form. I’mo try it for Christmas!

      xoxo

      tammy Reply:

60% off at TPC this month, just sayin’…..:d

      tammy Reply:

Hit submit too soon…meant to add I think you will luuuuurve it in the cold, and Christmas would be a perfect time, though I am all about Nuit de Noel during the holidays.

      Musette Reply:

      Reeeeely? oh baby…

      xo >-)

    13. Linda says:

Ebba By Sand. The little bit of mint in it wakes me up, and it’s not too intense for a pick-me-up. Or Sonoma Scent Studio’s Champagne de Bois — its citrusy dryness is always bracing.

    14. HemlockSillage says:

Heeley’s Esprit du Tigre is my go to scent when I’m tired but have to keep going, regardless. The mint and menthol up top give me a lift, and the cardamom, cinnamon spices in the base make it a comforting smell. I love it! Or you could grab a tin of tiger balm, but that burns! Rest well.
