Today we are going to take a quick squiz at 3 of the Frederic Malle fragrances. My dear girlfriend EmmaKate comes along for the ride. She brought Frederic Malle out while working for Mecca Cosmetica in Australia when he was doing the Geranium Pour Monsieur tour and was lucky enough to get to spend some time with the man. I know! Triple WOW!
I must write though that EmmaKate and I are merely fragrance enthusiasts and not trained noses. We love to have a couple of bevies and grab stuff and get in front of the camera for a little late night reviewing. This was shot at around 11pm after I had finished a Turbo Trivia gig. We tend to go on with a load of rubbish with some interesting facts sandwiched in, of course your job is to decipher what is real and what is made up in the fragrance addled brains that are barely functioning relics of our misspent youths. He He

Eyelash tutorial video! Now’s that is something I definitely cannot miss. I need lotsa help in that area. Love, love, love my FM Vetiver. It’s my steamy, hot weather cooling fragrance. There’s just something very bracing and refreshing about it for me. Haven’t been able to wear any big white florals. As beautiful as they are, I feel as if they are wearing me, instead of the other way around. Love vintage Diorella! Cannot tolerate Parfum de Terese. It goes all sour melon and stinky on me. 🙁 I keep trying it at different times to see if there is a way I can make it work, but nope. It’s just not for me. So glad that it smells the way it ought to on you. Enjoy it! Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend!

I have the Vetiver sample but still haven’t put it on me. I was lucky enough to try Guerlain’s Vetiver yesterday though and thought that was rather good. I will dig out my FM Vetiver and give it a whirl, as always great to see you.

I haven’t actually tried any of the Malles you reviewed, but as of last count, I’ve tried about six from the line, and now own a decant of L’Eau d’Hiver. There’s a vial of Musc Ravageur that arrived yesterday that’s sitting on my dresser waiting to be tried, and Carnal Flower and PdT are part of the TBS (To Be Sampled) list.

Looks like I will finally get a chance to test out Carnal Flower tomorrow. I lucked out with a 5ml decant being on special at Surrender to Chance. I do have an issue with tuberose and it just seems to be overwhelming on skin.
You have a problem with Tuberose and you are going for Carnal Flower. Kiss or Kill ya. GOOD LUCK!!!

I adore Le Parfum de Therese (and its cousins Diorella and Eau Sauvage) – it’s my fav FM! I have some others (how convenient that the travel refills tend to end up on ebay!) and a couple of FBs. One that hasn’t been mentioned that I think is really good is Lys Mediterranee. It’s the best lily that I have tried.
I have yet to get my sticky little fingers on some Lys Mediterranee but now I think I might have to. You have a lovely FM collection.

Ah, Frederic Malles… LOVE love Carnal Flower, and someday I’ll own more than my decant. I adore the green freshness of it.
Vetiver is just not ma thang, so I’ve never tried that one, and I seem to remember not getting on with Therese, but perhaps I should get that sample out and give it another go. For what it’s worth, I didn’t get on well with Diorella either. What sticks in my mind for both of these, Diorella and LPdT, is the word “overripe.” Which, just… hmm. Hmm. I just — I dunno, hmm. Should really try Therese again.
My other favorite Malle is Iris Poudre.
(So WHERE is that eyelash tutorial, Ms Portia??? Waaaaaiting… 😉 … not so patiently, either.)
HA HA HA! We have a few videos in the can already that will be aired before the Eyelash Video gets made. Sorry Mals86 it will probably be early next year. There will be a whole bunch made before I go on HOLIDAYS in January so you have fun stuff to watch while I am away. Sorry if the delay causes any inconvenience.
I’m sad that you didn’t like PdT and I have a little vintage Diorella coming. I’ll be able to tell you what I think about it soon.

I’m hoping Portia is going to use me and Patty as guinea pigs (do you know how many times I had to type the first 3 letters of guinea before I got it right? Lawd..)….anyhoo
yesh, I am hoping to be the pupil for that tutorial, since the last time I put my own set of lashes on I glued the top to the inside of my eyelid (as one is supposed to)…and the bottom to the outside…of the lower lid.
