The Beauties of Beautyhabit..annnd….a stunning draw!

Musette sez:     I’m always interested in other business owners – who are they?  how did they start their business?  how’s it going? do you wake up, at 2am, screaming?   In the coming weeks I will introduce you to some of my favorite small-biz retailers.  A lot of us buy online (or even – gasp!- buy IN STORE) but rarely really know the folks behind those shops.  We shop their sites, cheer when they have a Sale and moan when their prices increase…but who the heck are ‘they’?  Well.  Let’s see, shall we?

TeresaPaula_cmyk

where my cherubs izzz?

Beautyhabit!  I love so much about this shop.  But what I love most is the stupid story I originally made up about the two sisters who own and run it, Teresa Mitchell and Paula Vazquez, back when we were setting up the LA Scentsation.  At first glance I just saw California Girls, that gorgeous blonde, healthy bouncy fabulous Breckness endemic to the Golden State – I imagined them, reclining in chaises longue in the Valley, sipping mimosas whilst cherubs who look like The Rock drift through the terrace doors, bearing the latest, coolest offerings from Paris and Neptune.

Yah.  Okay.  I didn’t say I had any sense.  These are BUSINESS people, Musette. Working their asses off.   Just. Like. You.  Only way cuter.

So.  Teresa and Paula. Oh, SO cool.  Did you know that Teresa studied Mysticism and Religious Studies at Berkeley before going to Beauty School to become an Esthetician ???(there’s a joke in there somewhere but …)…she started her business in her basement after she had to quit working in department stores due to an environmental (coughEL-relatedcough) illness.  At that time, 1995-96, her husband (a Silicon Valley guy) told her about this new ‘online shopping’ phenomenon.  She remembers thinking ‘who would ever buy beauty products Online?” .  I said the same thing about books, when Amazon first came on the scene.  Sigh.  Luckily, Teresa was smarter than me!   Also, luckily for us, she is a hunter, a self-confessed Beauty Magpie, JustLikeMe, flitting from product to product, which meant she could really bust the whole thing wide open, bringing a host of unusual, fun products to the fore. Lots and lots of trial, error and testing….  Though I still like the idea of The Rock-like cherubs bringing the products in through the window….or me trying the products ON The Rock (here, Dwaynebaby…let me smooth a bit of this on your chest…yah,  it’s research, sweetcheeks.  Research.”

my favorite conversation with Teresa:  we were yabberin’ on about treatment and we got all mystical about Luxury and the thrill of the hunt for the perfect organic French rosewater and omgosh, I was hearing those cherubs…when she chuckled and said ‘yeah.  and then I slap on my Retin-A! LOL!”  I LOVE this gal!

But!  We actually get the stuff because her sister Paula is a freakin’ dynamo!  Listen.  This woman is a size-zero Force of Nature!  She owned a successful printing company when her sister came a-callin’ and now runs the daily operations portion of Beautyhabit as well as all the design management (and THANK YOU for such cuteness!  Really!  I love your catalogues!).   Paula’s the Perfume Slut but she’s Beauty Faithful – been in the same Chanel eyeshadow for 15 years!

my favorite conversation with Paula:  we were talking about how much of her day involves running around  and she talked about how tough Christmastime is or, as it’s known at Beautyhabit: Paula’s Month of Sweatpants, when she would race to UPS and jam her foot in the closing door to get those last packages in so we get them On Time .  I didn’t have the heart to tell her I have Anita’s YEARS in sweatpants.  This woman is a WORKER (ask her about her trying to get a job at The Golden Door (at 14!   as a maid! okay! okay! no cherubs, dammit). Plus, she’s way cuter than me, too.  Even in sweatpants.  especially in sweatpants!  I need to run around more.

If you are in LA and can trek out to the Valley, I swear to Floyd you MUST go to Beautyhabit (go around lunchtime when Paula’s husband Chef Alberto is in the area.  A year later and I’m still thinking about that amazing lunch).  It’s sort of a brick&mortar wholesale spot, unprepossessing as hell from the outside….then…well..I remember March & I stopping dead in our tracks, right inside the door…we….omg…we couldn’t speak for a full 30 seconds…just stood there, panting!  You wouldn’t BELIEVE it, it’s so……omg.

They go all over the world (and the world comes to them), to find the most interesting, intriguing lines..  Racks and racks and RACKS of Fabulous!  It’s so fabulous it’s stupefyin’.    Some of my favorites are..

…heck!  You don’t care what MY favorites are.  You care what YOUR favorites are becauuuuuse:

  • Lavanya says:

Am probably too late for the draw. But beauty habit is one of my favorite etailers. I have several lemmings from their site including POTL’s AMAZE and several lippies by Ilia Beauty

  • hajusuuri says:

Wellllllll, it is not on the site yet but if Beautyhabit carries the new Penhaligon’s Tralala in its quirky packaging, that’s what I would choose. My other potential perfume bottle would any one of the Rouge Bunny Rouge perfumes.

    Thanks for the generous draw!

  • Kismet429 says:

I’ve been longing for a full bottle of Profumi di Firenze Dolce Patchouly as I hoard the the precious last of my decant, and Beautyhabit carries it! Hmmmmm…….

Thanks for the entertaining post and the draw!

  • Kate says:

Hello! New reader and fragrance fanatic here. I’ve been reading through your posts the past few days, love the blog! My current obsession is i Profumi di Firenze – Vaniglia del Madagascar. I love vanilla perfumes and I’m dying to try this!

  • Julie says:

I might need to spring for Luctor et Emergo. I have a sample and I’m obsessed with it. But also want to try Juliette Has a Gun Lady Vengeance bc they do good things with rose, or so I’ve heard.

  • Sharon C. says:

Torn between L’Artisan Seville a l’Aube Eau de Parfum and Diptyque Volutes. Glad Bruno is feeling better and up to assisting with such a wonderful Springtime drawing. Happy Easter to all who observe it, and a lovely Sunday to those who do not.

  • maggiecat says:

Costes! I’ve tried and loved Costes 2 and would love a Costes candle – since it doesn’t look as if I’ll be getting to the actual hotel any time soon. 🙁 Thanks for the lovely draw and fun review!

  • Lauren says:

Since Comme des Garcons Zagorsk has been on my wishlist at BH for a while, I’d spring for that. It was fun browsing though, because I don’t usually look at their makeup and today I did. Seriously nice stuff. Thanks for the draw.

  • Tatiana says:

I know they have a ton of perfumes that I would want, but they also have Rouge Bunny Rouge – Long-lasting Eye Shadow. Don’t make me pick just one color, because there is no way that I can. I want the whole collection.

  • Shannon says:

Penthaligons LP #9. Definitely. Been eyeing up this one a lot lately.

  • SMY says:

Oh my I would love either Comme de Garçons Champaca perfume or Rodin Olio Russo’s perfume or beauty oil!

  • Claudia D. says:

Definitely in love with Histoires de Parfums Edition Rare Ambrarem Absolu Eau de Parfum. I have never sniffed it, but it sounds divine! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Jamie S. says:

Ooh, I love Arquiste L’etrog! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • CM says:

I love BeautyHabit! It was fun reading behind the scenes. I just ordered jour de fete and it’s en route… Maybe my next purchase will be something summery like Kai or some Child extra rich body creme yo go with my rollon oil.. Child is fantastic, you know.

  • Nitasha says:

Wow wow – I had come across Beauty Habit before, but hadn’t explored the full site – it’s like having an international pharmacy insider – no need for Citypharma! Wonderful getting to hear the founders’ story a bit more too.

I would LOVE Parfums de Nicolai Odalisque!!

(but like everyone else also probably hundreds of other things – Leonor Greyl, Ilia, Cire Trudon) Thanks for the draw.

  • monoatomic says:

How was I not informed of this site before now? I will take Parfums DelRae Debut, or perhaps some SuperGoop! mineral sunscreen, or now that I see Atelier makes candles I could get an Orange Sanguine…. In any case I’m pretty sure I good make good use of the GC!

  • Lisa says:

I’d love to try an iris fragrance, maybe The Different Company – Bois d’Iris?

  • beth says:

I love Beautyhabit! I found them when they were pretty new and wanted most everything I saw in their catalog. I would look at all the perfumes and read the description and what the notes were. I really fell in love! I have ordered many of them over the years and I regularly pop over to their website to see What’s new. Thanks Musette I love reading about the faces of these great places. I’m so happy Bruno is doing so well!

  • Barbara B says:

    Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow.

Or if dreaming big — L’Artisan Jour de Fete unsniffed which I saw featured in an email from Beauty Habit

  • Suzy Q says:

I adore the Paul and Joe lipstick case in retro pink and white. I’ve always wanted to buy their lipstick but because I can’t try it on locally I haven’t. Thanks for the draw!

  • Janet in California says:

Wow, what a great draw. I would pick Arquiste Parfumeur – Flor y Canto Eau de Parfum. Thanks!

  • many_worlds says:

My gosh! I’ve actually been pining for a chance to smell some Olfactive Studio scents, and they’ve got a great little discovery set of 4ml’s over at beautyhabit. So that, I think.

Sidenote: I picked up a set of the Perfume Posse beginner fragrances samples at Surrender to Chance, and am really digging it. Wonderful suggestions, and definitely furthering my education. Thanks, Posse!

  • cara says:

Wonderful giveaway! Thank you very much!

I have my eye on Memoire Liquide Reserve – Vacances Liquide Eau de Parfum 🙂

  • mim says:

WHOA nelly there’s a reason I don’t tempt myself often. Now I WANT! please count me in. And thanks guys for such a great draw!
Got my old Frapin and Botrytis and POTL and other lovelies there many years ago and still enjoy them all. The site is even better now.

stuff I knew I wanted: Anima Dulcis, Vanille Insensee,
new wants: Lubins esp. Akkad; Patch NYC all of them! tdc divine bergamot, L’Artisan Parfumeur – Vanille Absolument, the entire Providence Perfume line….

  • rachael says:

I have been wanting Serge Lutens Bas de Soie for many moons…a gift certificate can make the dream a reality!!

  • thegoddessrena says:

I would go for Vanille Tonka or Botrytis, but forcing me to browse the site is making me feel a sample order coming on. Eek!

  • I love BeautyHabit!!!!!! Gah, this is an AMAZING drawing. I’d spend the money to buy myself an early birthday present. I definitely know what I would buy: Parfums de Nicolai’s Juste un Reve. Lovely stuff. Seriously– if you haven’t sniffed it, it’s the perfect balance of refinement and fun. It reminds me of the beach, and I love wearing it with other fragrances (not layering them but wearing them on two different arms, to enjoy the juxtaposition).

Or wait. Maybe Penhaligon’s Iris Prima. You can never have enough iris in the collection, and this one is girly AND slightly odd at the same time. So pretty but so unique. Love it.

  • Holly F. says:

Yay, Beautyhabit and Perfume Posse! I’ve had my eye on Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger Neroli Blanc Intense Eau de Parfum. Thanks so much for this awesome draw!

  • mridula says:

My bottle of Parfum d’empires ambre russe is calling to me. Thank you, this is a wonderful giveaway.

  • zazie says:

    what a great draw!

i’d take the kai gift set and throw in a couple of rouge bunny rouge eyeshadows and liners for good measure!
    thanks!!!!

  • puhfume says:

At the moment, I’m eyeing Serge Lutens’ Cuir Mauresque. Thanks for the draw. I love browsing through the selection that Beautyhabit carries.

  • spiker says:

Golly! there’s just so many possibilities! I’ve been wanting to explore the Diptique line for a while, and I see that Beauty Habit carries both fragrances and some lovely looking bath and body products by them.

  • silvrolive says:

I’ve had my eye on Rouge Bunny Rouge Embers for a while! Also, at Beautyhabit they always send a little card and extra samples with your order. Thanks for the draw!

  • Lisa Marik says:

Wow, what a great selection BeautyHabit has! I adore the huge selection they have of i Profumi di Firenze, and I would love to try their vanilla fig fragrance.

  • Amy K says:

What a great drawing! I would spend my e-certificate on Luctor et Emergo parfum. Thank you.

  • Audrey says:

    Love the Ineke perfumes

  • Civet says:

An Atelier Mistral Patchouli candle. I’m far from all my fumes right now and really missing Mistral in particular.

  • lisa_67 says:

I can’t count the number of times that I’ve gone out to the Beautyhabit website ‘just to have a quick look,’ only to glance up at the clock and realize that an hour has passed while I’ve gazed longingly at Cire Trudon candles, lusted for the latest release from Arquiste Parfumer, or imagined the newest Butter London shade adorning my toes. I can’t even imagine the experience of their brick and mortar store; I probably wouldn’t come out for a week!

My BH wish list is long, so off the top of my head, I would flip a coin: heads, it’s D.S. & Durga Silent Grove, tails, it’s Providence Perfume Co.’s Samarkinda. Thanks to Paula, Teresa, and the Posse for the opportunity!

  • Jackie b says:

Ths is such a generous draw! I often browse here and have bought skincare from them, but they cannot ship me perfume unfortunately…
I have always coveted the Dr Vraanjies home diffusers, the Vaniglia Mandarino sounds lovely, and some of the bottles are gorgeous. Can’t even look at the Murano glass ones!

  • Caroline says:

Beautyhabit is a nice site! Becca’s Ultimate Colour Gloss in Palm Breeze is calling my name (says the woman with enough perfume & lip products to furnish an entire state!) Thanks for the draw.

  • Claire says:

So many appealing options – but I would love to try the Cire Trudon candles, particularly Solis Rex, Spiritus Sancti, Carmelite, or Trianon.

  • molly l says:

I live halfway across the continent from the brick and mortar store, but I’ve perused their website and bought a couple things. They have an awesome selection of products. It’s hard to pick one thing I’d spend the gift certificate on, but I’m smitten with the Chantecaille Lip Chic in sunrise. Gorgeous color!

  • Marie C. says:

Oh my – this is difficult! Either Dzing! or Iris Parma I think. But that’s this hour. I’m sure next hour I’ll think of something else. Love that site!! And way to go Bruno!! You keep getting better – your momma needs you!

  • tomate farcie says:

tis the season for Parfum d’Empire Azemour and oh so many more! Thank you Posse and BeautyHabit

  • Hana says:

O wow…I would love to try the “Une nuit à Bali” perfume or the Eve Lom cleanser. So hard to choose!

  • epic woman says:

That darling lovely Comme des Garçons Avignon has been beckoning for me since Christmas and a gift certificate would make her mine, all mine. 🙂

    Thanks for the generous drawing!

  • d3m0lici0n says:

I really need the new CdG Sugi for summer! Beautyhabit is a pretty cool website, my wife bought me recently a Hierbas de Ibiza, another perfect fragrance for summer, hope to win the card so I can get the Sugi. Thanks!!!

  • Lisa D says:

Well, I have to first say that these girls were absolutely WONDERFUL to everybody who was lucky enough to attend LA Scentsation. Musette and the rest of the Posse had to literally drag some us out of their store by the hair, kicking and screaming, in order to get us all back on the bus.

If I had to pick just one thing, I think I’d go for one of the Cire Trudon candles. I remember poking my nose into all of those glass cloches they keep ’em under, and loving the scent of every one.

  • Dina C. says:

My recent favorite thing from Beautyhabit is a silk satin eye mask that you wear while sleeping to block the light. It’s very luxurious and old-school glamorous Hollywood feeling. I got it in the lavender color. I’m also a big fan of the Parfums de Nicholai line. Thanks for the great drawing Musette!

  • poodletwins says:

I hope to visit the brick and mortar store by the end of the year! Getting to know a little something about the owners adds meaning. I would love to try something from the Nicholai line, either Odalisque, Le Temps Une Fete, Sacrebleu Intense. Or Olfactive Studio Lumiere Blanche. And that’s just scratching the surface. Give a tummy rub to Bruno for me. Thanks for the great draw!

  • carodiaz says:

I am going to veer away from the intoxicating world of perfume and go for Darphin – Organic Aromatic Purifying Balm because my skin right now is a nasty mess :/
although those Regina Harris little concoctions in those alluring bottles make me doubt.
    Thanks! This is wonderful.

  • helicalgnome says:

Does it have to be a $50 item? Can I dream and say Anima Dulcis? I am in the mood for dreaming for sure. Iy’s a terrible day here today. Thanks for this generous gift certificate 🙂

  • Flora says:

Oh wow, what a great draw! I love Beautyhabit anyway so getting the backstory makes it even better! Thanks so much for the opportunity.

Something that’s not exactly perfume caught my eye – shocking, I know! The Cinq Mondes Rain Mist all natural body sprays sound fantastic and the come in rose or orange blossom, either of which would make me very happy. 🙂

  • Kandice says:

Such in interesting peek behind the scenes at Beautyhabit. I would love to try the Nuxe Prodigieux Le Parfum, or maybe one of the Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger perfumes, or maybe….So many choices 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  • jirish says:

I can only pick one thing to ‘love’? Gah! Too hard! Well, I love that they carry Providence Perfume Co., as I’ve been meaning to try their Moss Gown. But I also love that they carry Nuxe Paris, and they also carry Red Flower’s Cardamon Amber oil, which I love and am almost out of. And I could go on and on . . .

  • einsof says:

ONE thing?? they have THREE PAGES of natural and organic products!!! (including some of my faves like Providence Perfume Co!) i will say one new (to me) line that cracked me up was MEOW MEOW TWEET. i LOVE that name. it’s like a cat who is either (A) learning a new language or (B) is now online. i’m a libra, can i just lay the gift certificate out in front of me and then stare at the website for a week? then i will decide. 😉 thank you for the great profile of these soldiers of salve and of course the wonderful draw!

  • Cristine says:

I just love Beauty Habit– I’ve been ordering from them for years. In fact, I just placed an order yesterday for one of my newer obsessions: Jao Goe Oil. Fantastic product for my sensitive, dry skin & it smells heavenly. Thanks to BH for the free shipping!

  • Tiara says:

So interesting to read about the people behind the business! Our local newspaper has been highlighting various village businesses the past few months and it’s been fascinating to learn about these entrepreneurs. Mmmm….my decant of Penhaligon’s Zizonia is almost gone so that’s what my $50 would buy!

  • I will be happy to win a gift certificate, to buy Le temps d’Un Fete by Parfums de Nicolai, or one of the Arquiste line..

  • Teri says:

BH has been on my favorites list since I discovered them. But how much fun to get to know the folks behind it. Great site. Great products. And it appears, great people, too.

Please enter me in your draw. Pssst, Bruno, mine is one scented with liver treats. (wink)

    • Teri says:

Oh well heck. I got so excited about the giveaway that I failed to read the instructions.

I am looking for a new primer, so I’d be interested in trying the Rouge Bunny Rouge Genesis Skin Primer.

  • Liz K says:

My first online purchase was from Beautyhabit (years and years ago). I remember getting in trouble with my Mom because Dad let me use his credit card for the purchase and she had never heard of ordering online. Got some really nice Robert Isabel candles and perfumes.
How did I miss the Nuxe perfume? I love the oil so am pretty sure that would be my choice today, although I am notoriously indecisive. Maybe a full bottle of CdG Kyoto as my most recent decant is getting pretty empty or Le Temps D’Une Fete Eau de Toilette? I don’t know for sure but I would love to be entered in the draw. Thank you!

  • Janice says:

I order from their site more than I’d like to admit—just got a package from them yesterday, in fact—and I was lucky to be there last year to visit the store with you. There are a whole lot of “staples” I order from them, from makeup to even laundry detergent (The Laundress), but the thing I’m coveting now is Ann Gerard’s Rose Cut. Wonderful profile of Teresa and Paula, and I’m looking forward to reading more of these.

  • Elena says:

I would love to win some $$ to spend on erbaviva baby cream to smooth onto my already soft and delectable baby. Natural stuff is the only way to go!

  • Katrin says:

My dream treat would be an organic perfume from Red Flower, Guaiac sounds perfect!

  • Ashley Anstaett says:

So hard to choose! I might go for Different Company Sel de Vetiver or try something from the Jul et Mad line (Stilettos on Lex?) Thanks for the giveaway offer!

  • Rina says:

Just discovered Tokyomilk Dark! Would have to go for La Vie La Mort (natch!). ThnKs for the draw and tummy rubs to Bruno!

  • Belle says:

I hope that Paula’s beloved eyeshadow will never be reformulated like our perfumes. It’s impossible to not be slutty when your lovers are so capricious.

I’ve been dying to try Serge’s infamous MMK or PdN’s Le Temps. But I’m afraid I might fall for another one who’s meant to go. I can’t find Le Temps in their site…

  • Gwenyth says:

Living in the “back of beyond” doesn’t give me much shopping except for online shopping. Online shopping has opened my world – and isn’t it wonderful that I can have excellent skin treatments, fabulous make-up, and wonderful perfumes almost at my fingertips, 24/7??
I love Beautyhabit and have spent many, many hours browsing their offerings. I’d love to have some i Profumi di Firenze..But, I could name at least 10 different things I’d love to have – a couple of which are actually on their way to me even as I type. Hurray!!!

  • NeenaJ says:

BeautyHabit is a fantastic resource for perfume and makeup junkies alike. Being both, I would flip a coin for either the Atelier Cologne – Cédrat Enivrant Petite Cologne Absolue or some Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadows.

  • Jill S. says:

OMG. Well, to save me from spending the entire rest of the day looking at the BH website, I will pick Monegal’s Impossible Iris. Or maybe something Nuxe. But what about Rouge Bunny Rouge?…….oh dear!

  • Lynne Marie says:

Like many others here, I already had a “want list” from BeautyHabit. Their selection of perfumes is just outstanding!! SO, my biggest want right now is the Coquillette Paris Mini Collection. I have not tried anything from this line yet and they all sound so interesting, the sampler set is right up my alley!! Thanks, BeautyHabit for the amazing draw!!

  • Edward G says:

I want the Josef Statkus fragrance. So expensive for only 50 ml. but so many great reviews. Thank you!!!!

  • AnnieA says:

    An Atelier candle methinks.

  • VannyBL says:

Oh my god! So many things to choose from!! I think I would go with the mini bath oils collection from Aromatherapy and Associates, since I’ve been wanting this (and resisting) for so long. Or any skincare from Aurelia… Or maybe it would be the occasion to try something from Eau D’Italie? Or get my hands on Atelier Cologne’s. Grand Neroli at last? Or…. 🙂

  • JillM says:

Ah the hours wasted browsing Beauty Habits beautifully laid out site. I love the staff picks! I am coveting Nuxe lip balm, Balm Balm body balm, and a few fragrances.

  • Martin says:

Thanks for introducing Beauty Habit to me. They certainly have quite an extensive selection. If I were to win Teresa and Paula draw I would treat myself to a bottle of 1740 Marquis de Sade by Histoires de Parfums.

  • Whaaat? How are we expected to pick ONE thing from this website??? There are literally at least 50 that I can name so I will stop looking and just write one down before I spend too much money on there: I’d like Eau d’Italie Paestum Rose.

  • sweetharmony8 says:

I hadn’t heard of Beautyhabit until now, but now I have just got to try Ann Gerard’s Rose Cut perfume!

  • Diane says:

Wow! A great beauty site and a wonderful story of sister entrepreneurs. I’d love to explore the Atelier Cologne rose scent but there are many tempting fragrance choices. Thanks for this generous draw!

  • Cynthia3403 says:

I must be one of their better customers. Just placed an order earlier today, in fact. They have great lines and great customer service. I have been coveting a bottle of Jardins d’Ecrivains – La Dame aux Camélias Cologne de Nuit, phew, that’s a mouthful. Thanks to Beautyhabit for a generous draw.

  • Nemo says:

Hi Musette and Bruno! I love Beautyhabit. I bought one of my first ever set of samples from BH, and I remember scouring all of the different brands and perfumes to see what sounded good. At the time, I didn’t recognize any of them! Now when I look at the fragrances page, many of the brand names and perfumes seem like old friends 🙂 I also love their catalogues, which are both beautiful and fun to look at. At the top of my wish list right now is Rose Oud and Amber Oud from Perfums de Nicolai, and also Safran Troublant from L’Artisan. It will be a tough choice if I have to make it 🙂 Thanks Musette, Bruno, Teresa and Paula!

  • Sara says:

Oh, how did I not know that Beautyhabit had such a great selection?! I would like about 90% of their stock, but to choose one thing – In Fiore ‘Night Queen’! Thanks for the draw 🙂

  • Kathryn says:

Beauty Habit has such a great website. So many lovely things, and their specials, bonuses and occasional sales are much appreciated. Right now I’m hankering to smell Anne Gerard’s Rose Cut. (So happy to hear, Musette, that Bruno is ok. You must be so relieved!)

  • StaceyW says:

I just ordered the new Nuxe Parfum from them and absolutely love it! I’ve been wanting a full bottle of Olivine Bluebird or She Belongs There for some time. I love that entire line. Thanks for the great article spotlighting a site I shop at frequently.

  • Alison says:

What a great offer! i would love the Eau d’Italie Liquid Soap. And a big hug and scratch to Bruno!

  • Katherine says:

Hi Musette! I’m obsessed with their candle collection. It’s about to be super fire hot here and so I try to burn a different candle every night. Perfums de Nicolai candles are my fav!! (but the Santa Maria Novella hand cream has me at hello!!)

  • Ann says:

First off, hallelujah and hooray that Bruno is doing so well!! So happy, our prayers are answered! Thanks for showcasing these lovely ladies and their business and of course, thanks to all for the wonderful draw and free shipping.
No draw for me, but one of these days I’m going to BH and spring for a FB of Ramon Monegal Impossible Iris or SL’s Bas de Soie.

  • Bastet says:

I would love to sample any number of the fragrances from Parfums de Nicolai.

  • Connie says:

    Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Cream! Wooooo!

  • solanace says:

Wow, their selection is amazing, I had so much fun browsing! I’d choose the Cinq Mondes 5 Flowers Micellar Water, Bali Rituals. I’d love to go there, try everything and have a little chat with Teresa! Being a perfume freak who makes a living studying metaphysics myself, I think I kind o get the joke, lol! After all, cosmetics stems from the Greek kosmos…

Happy to hear Bruno is doing good!

  • Alexa says:

Love beautyhabit – they have such interesting lines. My dream pick would be the Roses and Coconut Honor face cream from suti!

  • Jan Last says:

It would have to be Olfactive Studio’s Chambre Noir. I’m so happy to see other people leave open carts dangling out there until the last second for whatever sale is going on. I love hearing about the people I’m buying from, it personalizes my shopping.

  • Becky says:

I love their site! I guess I’d pick PdN Kiss Me Tender (but I’ve got a whole mess of samples coming, so I suppose that could change. 😉 )

  • Elizabeth Watson says:

Great post today, Musette–I appreciate learning a bit about these entrepreneurs. And, I really like their website, too. But I must say I am paralyzed about making a choice among their offerings! Right now, I am looking into more advanced skin care products, so I might choose the Cane & Austin Corrective Treatment Eye Cream. But because I am such a fume hog, I might instead go for Providence Perfume’s Moss Gown. So many choices! (psst–Bruno! Pick me, okay buddy?)

Hmmm…it is going to be difficult to choose just one item I am eyeing up on Beautyhabit! It is an awesome website; I have never had the pleasure to visit the actual store (but hope to someday). Let’s see now Coquilette Paris discovery set, the new Ann Gerard Rose Cut, Solange Cosmic, Olivine More than Stars (this is beautiful, at a very reasonable price, thank you Beautyhabit for carrying it!) and the Olivine discovery set

  • Tena says:

Well, I want every single scent that this wonderful site stocks. In addition though, the Steamcream in the beautiful aqua tin with the angel fishies going “glubglub” is my current obsession..

  • Elia says:

Luctor et Emergo by People of the Labyrinths because I’ve never tried it and it is meant to be a cult and I like the bottle. Pretty cool bottle

  • Laurels says:

Just when you think you’re starting to get a grip on all the perfume lines out there, you look at everything available on this site and realize you’ve barely scratched the surface. I’ll take Melissa Flagg Clementine. I remember reading a good review, and I’m still looking for the orange blossom of my dreams.

  • Jennifer Smith says:

I think it would be one or two Comptoir sud Pacific ones (30 ml ) or one csp and a Ineke sampler set. Unless I had extra to spend and blew it on Jaisalmer or Quarezatte.

Ack, I could (and have, many times) prowl the Beauty Habit website for hours. So many perfume lines – would I choose Jardins d’Ecrivains Orlando, or Parfums di Nicolai Vanille Tonka? Probably I would splurge on Cinq Mondes body oil. Thanks for the great read, Ms A, these women sound like a blast! And thanks for the great draw.

  • Maya says:

Very nice store. Definitely a site worth saving. Parfums de Nicolai – Maharadjah Candle sounds lovely.

  • furriner says:

Great article! I do love Beautyhabit, although I have never been to the brick-and-mortar store. I would no doubt share your and March’s awe if I did enter the store, overwhelmed at the availability variety on display. It was nice reading about Teresa and Paula. One thing I love about their website is that they manage to put the faces of their staff online — I can’t even think of another online retailer who does this. One thing I have been circling around for years there is Satellite Paris Padparadscha. I’d like to thank them for the generosity of this draw!

What a wonderful selection of fragrance houses! There were so many that I would love to try. Having to pick one though it would have to be The Different Company Bois d’Iris Thank you!

YIKES!! Beautyhabit is ridiculously amazing… I always wonder about the people behind these shops, blogs, etc. Since I recently became a part of this whole wonderfully scent obsessed online world I am still learning and finding out about shops, websites, blogs, and everything else – but, so far,Beautyhabit has really impressed me – they carry pretty much every line that I have ever wanted to try and many that I have not even heard of yet.It was not easy to leave the website once I started taking a peek around – once I tore myself away I decided that if I was choosing one thing it would have to be a glorious full bottle of Coquillete Paris : Tan-Tan.I am quite taken by this fragrance and I would be thrilled to actually have a bottle of it <3 Thank you for such a generous draw and also thank you for the chance to learn a bit about " The Beauties of Beautyhabit " 😉 Best Wishes 🙂

I totally agree that walking through the doors of Beautyhabit into their carpeted stock area was truly breathtaking. Aisles of soaps, lotions, hair products. Mosey on back to the kitchen area and you see fragrance testers organized by line, everywhere. Oh cute, a pantry with shelves holding L’artisan and a dozen other lines. Turn around and there is a tiled counter with Rosine, PdE, Nicolai, Solange Azagury-Partridge and a few other lines you can’t wait to sample. My dreams aren’t even this good. The ladies are lovely, wonderful hostesses, and take joy in seeing a big goofy smile on my face. I want to go back! Thank you Paula and Teresa for the draw. I still have Solange Azagury-Partridge’s Cosmic on my wish list!
So glad Bruno is on the mend!

  • FeralJasmine says:

I think I might want Ambre Princesse Hippie, from Des Filles de Vanille. Thanks so much for this lovely draw!

  • Lej says:

Wow what a great draw! Thank you ladies of Beautyhabit! It’s So hard to choose, they offer so many prefume, so it’s a toss between Comme des Garçons Avinigon and Jalisimar but they have Arquiste perfumes which are divine as well. Give Brunno a scritch and I’m super happy he’s doing better.

  • xtopher says:

Tough call. I would want many things yet for 50 dollars I’d say gimme gimme gimme that Neom Real Luxury Body Oil to treat this post winter stressed body.

  • edpgypsy says:

Oh silly Musette, don’t you know I have carts saved on every electronic device from when I go”shopping” in my pj’s (cheap retail therapy without actually checking out!)? All I have to do is pop open the BeautyHabit tab and bam..so many things I want that! So let’s chose NUXE Prodigieux Le Parfum as my love item of choice. Thank you for helping us get to know the gals behind BeautyHabit and I’m happy to hear Bruno is happy too!

  • wefadetogray says:

gosh, perfumes? many of them? but if forced to chose right now, i’d say Frangipani e cocco by I Profumi di Firenze or Ramon Monegal ambra di Luna. AHHHHHHHH Thanks this is amazing 😉

  • Ellen says:

Lubin Akkad perfume is it. They carry that line, and they carry lots of other really wonderful fragrance lines. thanks for the opportunity.
