Dior Homme by Francois Demachy for Dior 2011

Hiya Posse! Portia from AustralianPerfumeJunkies with a really beautiful snippet. Here we have DIOR Homme, Robert Pattinson and a young girl, then the whole scene shifts. What is real, who is who and how fabulous that everything may not be quite what it seems. Add to that a funky, trippy soundtrack and a gorgeous setting, shot in B&W!

Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Top: Lavender, sage, bergamot
Heart: Iris, amber, cacao
Base: Vetiver, patchouli, leather

This is the reorchestrated, smoother and less aggressive version of DIOR Homme. Having said that, as a total reformulation it is a fabulous one. If we’d never had the original we would be thrilled by the current. It smells super sexy on almost every man it touches.

Dior Homme ‘The Film’ – The Ball

  • Marie says:

my hubby is wearing this right now – it’s my favorite on him – and yes, he smells supersexy!

  • That’s what I’m wearing today! I picked up a bottle at a discounter after giving it a sniff at Sephora. Aside from a little herbal-y hint, it doesn’t really read masculine to me at all (or not enough that I don’t feel comfortable wearing it). I get mostly the iris and cocoa, which is nice creamy goodness.

  • Ann says:

Love this, Portia, thanks! Now I definitely have to try this, both for myself and for hubs. BTW, the lovely older lady looks so familiar to me — Masterpiece Theatre, perhaps?

    • What’s Masterpiece Theatre Ann? Never heard of it?

      • Ann says:

Oops, sorry, Portia — it’s a collection of U.K. TV shows that get shown over here in the States as part of our PBS (public TV) networks. Between that and BBC America we get our daily dose of all things U.K. 🙂
P.S. Now that I’ve been ruminating on it, that woman makes me think of actress Sheila Hancock, who was in “Bleak House,” “Hustle,” “The Buccaneers,” and more.

  • Dior Homme is good stuff. The film? Very silly. “Loved him, hated her…”

    • Which HER did you hate Queen Cupcake? Young her or grown up her? I quite liked how she walked through the crowd in the opening with him, then I loved how the older girl was dancing and laughing.
      Yes, maybe silly but fun.
I reckon Big Jim Turbo Gear would rock some DIOR Homme.

      • Elizabeth Watson says:

Oh, good question: young her. The one who grabs food off of someone’s table, then throws it down, along with her jacket. Loved the older lady. I found the use of Led Zeppelin jarring, although I like their music, mostly. By the way, that phrase: “loved him, hated her” is a favorite old cliche of theater critics. I am not sure where I picked it up.

  • solanace says:

You tell me they reformulated Dior Homme before I got mine? Darn!

  • Laurels says:

The Led Zeppelin is certainly unexpected. Super sexy, eh? Now I sort of want to surreptitiously spray it on unsuspecting men, you know, as research.
