Hooray, hallelujah and a happy dance, too!: Frederic Malle Carnal Flower shower gel

shower gelWhoo-hoo!! If I were physically able, I’d be turning cartwheels, flips and other cheerleader-like, jump-for-joy moves because I recently saw in an e-mail that Frederic Malle has launched Carnal Flower shower gel.

Which I (and probably many of you) have been wishing and hoping for and whining about for what seems like ages. So it’s no wonder I’m ecstatic!

Also making me happy (but not quite on the same level as the CF) are new shower gels in Eau de Magnolia and En Passant, and also Lys Mediterranee and Lipstick Rose.

So I’m pretty sure many of you will be doing the FM happy dance, too! Now to get my mitts on some. Although I’m wondering how fast this will sell out. Will they be able to make enough to keep up with demand? Or perhaps our lovely Patty or Musette will get some soon and let us know how it is. (I have to be honest, though, I’ve not used any of the FM shower gels, but the body creams I’ve tried were fabulous.)

For quite some time now, I’ve played mad perfume scientist in an attempt to cobble together my own take on bathing with CF, mixing tuberose shower gel with some coconut shower gel. Can’t say it was a huge success, but it was OK in a pinch. How wonderful it will be to have the real thing!

It’s available on the FM site, of course, and at Aedes de Venustas. Barney’s Web site doesn’t show it, but when I called a brick-and-mortar store they had it in ($65 for 6.8 ounces / 200 mls.); it’s also available at Les Senteurs, but did not see it listed on the Liberty of London site. It appears that the bottle is plastic, but I can’t tell for sure. (Let’s hope it’s not glass – not for the shower, please!). Maybe some of you with prior experience with a Malle shower gel can weigh in on this.

Anyhoo, please share if you’ve tried any of these new ones or any of the other FM shower gels.

Or what body product (new or old) is making you fragrance happy so far this summer?

Lipstick Rose shower gel!!!!!!!! I’m in trouble 🙂

    • Ann says:

ElizaC, we are all in trouble a little 😉 I’m not even that big of a Lipstick Rose fan but would love to try the shower gel.

  • Musette says:

btw – it is plastic. <3

  • N says:

In a way I can be glad I have eczema and can no longer use perfumed body washes or I risk a rash if I do. This way I am not tempted to buy a $65 dollar 6.8 ounce body wash. I am not literally washing money away down the drain with the expensive suds. But if you are rich and this kind of thing is your jam, I make no judgements.

    • Ann says:

Hi, N! I hear you on washing money down the drain and very rarely buy expensive shower gels. But Carnal Flower is pretty awesome, and even though I won’t buy a bottle, it would be nice to try a time or two.

  • Mals86 says:

Sigh. Sounds gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. OTOH, I’m probably not going to shell out like that for BODY PRODUCTS. Not even for CF. Notorious cheapie here. 🙂

    • Ann says:

Mals, I’m with you on not wanting to spend that much either. But I would love to try it — maybe have enough in a little bottle or tub for a couple of splurge showers for special occasions or something.

  • Dina C. says:

My mom and I both love lilac, and I really want to get us some samples of FM En Passant. The shower gel sounds terrific. I love tuberose, too. Darn that low-buy that I’m on. I’ll be counting the days until I can order! Thanks for sharing this good information Ann!! 🙂

    • ewewhojane says:

Dina C., you must try En Passant, on a hot and humid day it is wonderful, cooling at first and then with a more blooming drydown and when you sweat!

      • Ann says:

Yes, yes, echoing ewewhojane — gotta try En Passant. In my excitement over CF, I forgot about En Passant so will be dying to try that one as well.

  • Musette says:

I just tried the Magnolia and CF shower gels – they are both gorgeous!!! Wait. Portia…what?

    xoxo

  • Portia says:

Totally excited Ann. This looks really cool. I can imagine it sitting on my window sill.
Till now I have been using Madonna Truth or Dare body wash for all my white flowers. It’s a whisper of the price and smells terrific.
    Portia xx

  • Wilma says:

Amazing! Just returned from NYC with a bottle of CF shower gel. Had a lovely visit with Anthony at the Madison Ave. FM store. Of course, I went in to check out one thing and came out with more. Bottle is plastic with very practical top so you just use a little.
I may never come out of the shower

    • Ann says:

Excellent, Wilma — so excited for you!! So glad you stopped by to give us that info; thanks. And I hear you on the shower; we’ll all look like prunes now, thanks to Mssr. Malle! 🙂

    • Rina says:

I love Anthony! So sweet and funny even via email all the way to me in Calif.! Would love to meet him one day!

  • eldarwen22 says:

I have yet to get my full bottle of En Passant. Right now, I can’t spend anymore on perfume since I had to buy a plane ticket to Austin, get a bed frame and just blew the rest on a huge bottle of vintage Chamade. But the shower gel sounds nice. What company in their right mind would put shower gel in a glass bottle?

    • Ann says:

Ooh, lucky you to have a vat of original Chamade! You’d be surprised, eldarwen, about the glass bottles. I had several in the past that I had to pour out into plastic containers to take into the shower with me. Hopefully, everyone’s wised up by now.
