Celebratory … ish?

Last week was half term school holidays plus … Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee four-day weekend from Thursday.

Mother Nature felt very fickle about the Jubilee, I think, with a couple of good days and rain over the weekend, when some places were having outdoor celebrations. To be honest, this all feels a bit laid back vs what I’ve seen of other Jubilees.

I went looking for some ‘out there’ decorations celebrating the Jubilee. I didn’t find much in my village (see a few of pics). I had seen a house very done up in the next village over with the dog but neglected to take a picture.

In any case, I don’t have much beyond this. We’re off on holiday/vacation later today (which is why this post went up so early). The plan is to do not much beyond walks, eating, reading and resting (dog is coming [his first holiday] and the area we’re visiting has dog-friendly beaches, at least one major sand dune system, easy access trails and a myriad of dog-friendly restaurants and cafes).

I was thinking about how Portia usually posts about which fragrances are coming on travels. I’m thinking woodsmoke and seaweed would be appropriate on this trip, but have neither to hand. So, Tauer Sundowner will have to do, along with a sample of Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille.

Have a good week.

I’m currently watching the final official Jubilee celebration. The Parade & Dame Prue Leith’s Jag has broken down & the buses & floats are having to drive round it.
I hope the weather picks up for your holiday Cinnamon. Nothing worse than cold summer drizzle by the sea!

Those two perfume choices sound lovely, as well as a dog-friendly holiday. Wish I was going to Bali though! So very tired of the cold weather and endless rain here. Can’t wait to leave in two weeks on our road trip to Montreal.

    Hey Cinnamon,
So many of my mates were in London for the Jubilee that I feel like I saw most of the good shit.
Tauer Sundowner and Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille sound like perfect holiday accompaniments. Can’t wait to hear if they were good choices and how they wore.
Jin and I are off with a couple of girlfriends to Bali tomorrow. First time. Excited.
    Portia xx

Bali! You lucky one. We’ll be at the beach but I doubt it will be warm enough to swim. Have a wonderful time.
