Patty playing Esperanza the Perfume Fairy Godmother
Your wish is my command. Every month on the first day of the month, we will open a post where all of you can post one thing you are longing for – perfume sample or perfume decant or full bottle.
Then if any Fairy Godmother drops by and wants to help you get it – either through an outright gift or karma swap (where you get the wished-for thing, and you send something back that isn’t perfume) or trying to work out a swap of some sort, that would be amazing.
So here’s how it works – this post will be open for the entire month of December. At the end of December I’ll close it and start a new one.
In comments you can list one thing that you are yearning for. It can be a perfume sample of something you are dying to try, a full bottle, decant, or vintage perfume or discontinued perfume you can’t find. If someone has it and can help you out, they can reply to you in comments and then you can arrange to go offline through e-mail to work things out. Please don’t post e-mails in comments unless you spoof them somehow. Caveat Emptor and all that, don’t send people money, check out their references on MUA or Basenotes or the Facebook groups before you send something in a swap. If it’s a gift, send away.
I’ll also play Perfume Posse Fairy Godmother and go through the list every month and grant at least 5 (or more) perfume sample wishes. I’ll pick from ones that nobody has been able to help with – I’ll spin my random.org wheel – and send them The Precious.

I already got a wish granted! But since I found one to grant…here’s another just in case. Visiting London this weekend I fell in love with Le Labo Poivre 23. Would love to get my hands on some. Happy to swap as well!
Yay! Fairy Godmother or the perfumed powers-that-be added my beloved to the STC Xmas specials so I
could partake! Maybe if the godmothers are listening, 7 Billion Hearts could go in the next Christmas stocking sale?
I do have another wish which I have been searching for, a smell of Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea. Any fair godmothers out there who can assist?

I have been looking everywhere: blogs, ebay, decanters and I simply can’t find samples of the Mugler coffret that came out when the movie Perfume: The Story of a Murderer was released. I would LOVE to sample at least a few of these fragrances if not the whole shebang.
I’ve been looking for that tirelessly too, and only met one person who owned it (and he works for Mugler, natch)

Since no-one seems to have GB Nuit au Desert, could I put in a request for another impossible-to-find love? I have also been searching high and low for some Coty Oeillet, my favourite soliflore of all time.
If I had a wish it would be more than a 1/4 ml sample of Ayala Moriel’s Guilt. Oh! and Encens Mythique D’Orient Guerlain. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Last, would be Amouage Epic for women (although I currently have two samples of it from two different sellers and only one smells delicious. Weird)

I see someone already asked for it and I would absolutely love even the tiniest amount of JAR Bolt of LIghtning – I tried it in Paris and was stunned to find the perfume I imagined after one warm spring storm shower.

You and I are on the same wavelength, hongkongmom. In my case it may be due to the vanilla guide Patty posted a couple of months ago that I just got around to reading (I was abroad for a month) and drooling over the smoky, incensy vanillas. I DID find something to give….doing a happy dance here. 🙂

Hi CC I love vanilla…just havent found the one. Love the strength of bois de vanille, but its too sweet! I did get some of the M di O in a swapamania a while back…but it went way too quickly and I need to try it in the winter. Hope I will find something,,,thanks for the positivity 🙂

This is such fun! If a perfume fairy could grant my wish, it would be for a tiny sample of one of those rare vintage Alyssa Ashley animalics which are priced way out of my league, particularly “Civet” – or failing that, the one called “Ambergris”. (But not “Musk”, as I’ve smelled that one already). I find it amazing to think that, as recently as the 1960s, women (presumably) were buying and wearing a perfume called “Civet”, and I’m dying to know what it smelled like!
I’m with you on that wishing! 🙂 I’ll put that in on my fairy wish list as well. 🙂 See, even I have them.

Dear Fairy Godmother, I sniffed DSH le smoking and la plus belle histoire d’amour ever so shortly from a friends samples, and loved them, but wanted to sample them properly before buying. Can anyone help, I wonder <3 I love this idea, but it looks like so far the people I could have helped already found they fragrance fairies. Maybe soon:-)

I am amazing at how many have been granted! I know the samples are a lot easier, and I think it’s so cool, and I seriously am like teary eyed every time I check this post.
All I would like Santa to bring is a bottle of Le Labo Gaiac 10. If he could pull that off… well, I would do a lot for Santa in such an instance. Certainly Santa would get my money. But since I have a small decant, I feel like I’m being greedy even wishing out loud for it, since I was too stupid to fall in love with it WHILE it was available from Luckyscent last year.
Oh, I feel you on the Gaiac 10. There’s a woman on basenotes based in Taiwan who does splits of all Le Labo perfumes–I got my 50ml decant of Gaiac 10 from her this past summer, and it was wonderful, straightforward and smooth (and at around $150, way cheaper than when stores in the US get it occasionally). That being said, I could also send you a 10 or 15ml decant from my big decant, if you’d like, though I realize that’s nothing like a full bottle of your own. Oh, hey! I’d put that on my list! I had no idea when I opened my last concrete outter wrapped that that thing would disappear! They keep telling me, when I e-mail them once every six months, that they plan to bring it back, but no go. I LOVED that incense, it was Buxton’s best work, despite the screwy name.

Dear Fairy Godmother! I wish someone could help me with some more mililiters of discontinued Iris Pallida. If that won’t work I would love 1725 from Histoires de Parfums instead. I’m holding a split of it at the moment but there are not enough participants to complete the split – I’m so saad 🙁
I do have a little Iris Pallida, I think, if you don’t want but a ml or 2. the 1725, i wish I could help, I went through all of my stuff and foudn 1720, but not that one. 🙁 You know HdP does that three-pack thingie. Maybe someone would want the other two small bottles of something else and you could get your bit of the 1725!

I can send you a decant of the Chypre. I am not sure just how vintage it is; I got the bottle from eBay. The bottle is rectangular with rounded shoulders, with a metal cap over the sprayer. If you are interested, contact me at roses_50 at yahoo period com.
That’s the refo, I think. Still worth smelling, but not THE vintage. (I got my sample from Patty at StC, but it’s rare as lizard feathers and accordingly ‘spensive.)
