Perfume Sample Wish – February Fairy Godmother

perfume sample fairy godmother

Esperanza the Perfume Fairy Godmother

It’s time for the February Perfume Sample Fairy Godmother post.  You can post one thing you are  longing for – perfume sample or perfume decant or full bottle.

So here’s how it works – this post will be open for the entire month of February 2013.   I’ll start a new one at the beginning of March.

For those of you new or that need a reminder of how this works – in comments you can list one thing that you are yearning for and can’t seem to get –  a perfume sample is the easiest wish to grant for me.  Or you can wish for a full bottle, decant, vintage perfume or discontinued perfume you can’t find.  If someone has it and can help you out, they can reply to you in comments and then you can arrange to go offline through e-mail to work things out.  Please don’t post e-mails in comments unless you spoof them somehow, like this – patty at perfumeposse dawtcawm (spelling the dotcom at the end that way prevents robots from finding it as easily). Caveat Emptor and all that, don’t send people money, check out their references on MUA or Basenotes or the Facebook groups before you send something in a swap, if you wind up doing a swap.

If it’s a gift, send away.  I should note that  it’s more likely that a Fairy Godmother will happen along if you are a fairly regular commenter on The Posse and people recognize your name.

I’ll also play Perfume Posse Fairy Godmother and go through the list every month and grant some perfume sample wishes. I’ll pick from ones that nobody has been able to help with – I’ll spin my random.org wheel  – and send them The Precious.

  • Emmalee says:

    Hello Fairy Godmothers!

I am thinking ahead to spring and am dreaming of rhubarb pies and jams. Would anyone care to grant my wish of a sample of Jo Malone White Lilac and Rhubarb or Comme des Garcons Rhubarb?

    Thanks!

    • Patty says:

Hi! I can grant that wish. Just e-mail me at patty at perfumeposse dotcom, and I’ll get your mailing details!

  • sujaan212 says:

    Dear lovely fairies,
I would love to try some Slumberhouse Pear & Olive. There’s been so much chatter about it. If anyone has even a drop, I’d love to discover what all the fuss has been about.
    Thank you!

  • Brenda says:

    Hola,
i just found this site and i must say i love it!!! I wonder if Esperaza can dust off her wand and find a suitable replacement for a fragrance that i just can’t live without. Alas it has been discontinued, The fragrance is Narciso Rodriguez Musc oil Parfume for her. If you are not familiar with this scent, it is a an experience not a scent. Soft, warm but not powdery, sensually musky but refined and elegant, florals are ylang ylang and Jasmine. It is absolutely narcotic. I miss it so! It always makes me feel good and it drives my boyfriend crazy. It stays close to the skin so it’s a very intimate scent.

    • Farouche says:

Hi Brenda, I don’t know if it will be at all the same, but I could send you a sample of L’Artisan Mure et Musc dry oil. If you live in the US, just email me at pattor at rcn dot com.

  • Aileen says:

    Dear Fairies,

I am searching for any beautiful female perfumes from Guerlain, Juliet Has A Gun, Diptyque & Annick Goutal.
Also the most talked about perfume lately, Bruno Acampora Musc & Coromandel ( a dab is super fine ).

Maybe this wish is already late, as I’ve been too busy at work. I would just want to try if my wishes can still be granted…
    No pressures everyone.

    Thank you Fairest Fairies…

    • Heather F says:

Hi Aileen, If you’re in the US, I can send you some JHaG samples, and a bit of Diptyque’s Philosykos. My email is heather.elizabeth.freeman at gmail. 🙂

    • Jan Last says:

Aileen, I can help you with the AG, I have a few. As soon as my decanting supples are restocked, I will be happy to send you some. I am jdean+geo at aol dot com.

    • Jan Last says:

Sorry Aileen, ignore the plus sign, forgot to tell you that.

  • unseencenser says:

    Dear Fairy Godmothers All,

Some dear fairy godmother could save me from a FB purchase I shouldn’t do by sending me a decant of L’Ombre Fauve, for which I would gladly burn offerings of incense (or email money)!

I am also wishing, really too hard wishing, to try Ambre Russe, which apparently is Da Bomb and which I have never smelled!

    Cheers, FGs!

  • Lori L says:

Dear Fairy Godmother, please grant me a sample of Amouage Jubilation 25! Thanks so much and I greatly appreciate your generosity! 🙂

    • unseencenser says:

Lori, I can do this one! Email me – it’s a gmail address, lemonprint. (I can’t find my sample vials so we’ll have to wait a few days till more comes – but I have plenty of Jub 25 and am happy to send you some!)

  • Merlin says:

Hi, all you Fragrant Fairy Godmothers!

To begin with I live in South Africa, so some extra strong magic may be required.

That being said, I would love to try Annick Goutals’ Heure Exquise. And also (greedy greedy me) Ambre Precieux from Maitre Parfumeur…

Promise not to lose my glass slipper
    xxxM.

  • Georgette Stout says:

    Dear Perfume Fairy Godmother,
Love me some pineapple notes, but alas, my bottle of Balahe, and my bottle of Patou Forever are very near gone. Any interesting pineapple surprises would be welcomed.

    • odonata9 says:

Have you tried Histoires de Parfum George Sand 1804? It’s a weird pineapply thing. I have a sample I’d be happy to send your way. I don’t have any Ananas Fizz, but assume that is pineapple as well, if you’re looking for more things to try. If you’d like the HdP, email me at jasouza9 at hotmail dot com. You can also let me know what other kinds of things you’d like so I can throw in some more samples.

    • Jan Last says:

I have some Bill Blass, listed with top notes of pineapple, cinnamon, green notes. (thank goodness for my spread sheet). I don’t know how much I have of Bob Mackie Mackie, top notes pineapple, raspberry, peach, and I have a mini I can share of Lagerfeld Sun Moon and Stars, freesia, bergamot, pineapple, orange blossom, lotus, rice and juicy peach. (yeah, I looked and it said rice, not ripe, lol) I have Escada Fruit punch I can share. Hope this helps, don’t have a lot of pineapple experience with the exception of those firmly ensconced in a variety of rum drinks.

      • Katrin says:

Georgette, have you tried Molinard de Molinard? No pineapple notes listed, but the overall impression on the first spray is: yummy, I detect some pineapple! (the version I have in mind derived from about five years ago). Do not have a sample to offer, unfortunately.

      • Georgette Stout says:

Dear Jan, I have not tried these and I am in Texas. Please e-mail me georgette at cambriamadison dot
        com

      • Georgette Stout says:

        georgette at cambriamadison dot com

    • Farouche says:

Hi Georgette, Have you tried Magical Moon by Hanae Mori? It has pineapple, lychee, guava, etc. If you’d like a sample, just email me at pattor at rcn dot com.

    • susan says:

Hi George, I have a weird pineapple: Salvidor Dali Le Roy Soleil (woman’s version). Email me at somerss at gmail dot com if you’re interested.

  • Erik says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,

I haven’t had the privilege to test luxury (high end) perfumes. I am in grief now with the passing of my mom last January 21. I am missing her very much. I live many miles away from her & never made it back home. I wish your hugs of fragrance comfort.

Will you please grant my wishes to experience the beauty, serenity & tranquility of Nasomatto, Guerlain, Creed & Bond no. 9 perfumes, especially Chinatown & Warhol Silver Factory.

But any beautiful perfumes from those houses would be magical healing spells for me. I have no idea how their upper class perfumes, be classic & modern smells like.

I will also be grateful to be blessed with any outside these houses that would help me be comforted, day by day, adapting from a sad reality that the youngest son failed to be with her mom, for the last time. Sorry for this long message.

Thank you in advance dearest Fairies.

    • Em says:

      Erik,
I am so sorry for your loss — I am sure your mom still holds you in her heart, and is never far from you.

Email me your shipping info at friede at gmail dot com — I have a very peaceful modern Guerlain I can decant from and a few other things that are certainly gorgeous and special.

(I hope I won’t be the only one to answer this one!)

      • Erik says:

        Hello Em,

Thank you very much. Emailed you already dearest Fairy G.

        • Emily S says:

Erik, I’m so sorry for the pain in your heart. My father is battling pancreatic cancer, so I know something of the soreness one feels for a parent, though I’m sure to a lesser extent. I’m sure your mother knows how much you wish you could have been with her.

If you are located in the US, I can offer you a sample of Bond No. 9 Lexington Ave. You can reach me at emily(dot)s(dot)joeckel at geemale dot cawm (let me know if I obscured my email address too much!)

          Take care, my friend.

  • Undina says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,

I’d be really greatful if you could grant my wish: a sample of Eau de Tommi Sooni II.

I had a tiny vial of it, liked it but waited for too long and now it’s gone from the Luckyscent’s site. So before trying to hunt it down in Australia I’d love to try it a couple of times more.

    • sujaan212 says:

      Hi Undina,
I’m so excited that I actually have something that I could send you! I have about 1/2 of my sample left. This was my favorite out of the whole Tommi Sooni line also. If you decide you want to buy a bottle (once they come back into stock) and would like to share it, I’d be happy to go in on it with you. sujaanny (at) gmail. Send me your info and I’ll send you the sample I have. ????

  • Daniel says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,

I live in New Zealand and samples/decants are hard to come by here. I would therefore like to, kindly, ask if anyone has any samples/decants of

    Oud Gourmet – M Micallef
    Vanille – Mona di Orio
    Mamluk – Xerjoff
Portrait of a Laidy – Frederic Malle

or any of CdG’s Incense Series.

I understand that shipping to New Zealand may be more expensive, but I am happy to compensate for the extra cost.

    Thank you,

    Daniel

  • chrissyinoz says:

Dear Fairy Godmother, thanks once again for the opportunity to connect with such generous people. I had great fun granting & receiving wishes last month & this time around I’m desperately wanting to try Chanel 1932. I’m in Australia & here’s hoping 🙂

  • Shelly says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,

I would love a decant of Portrait of a Lady or of the 7 Virtue’s Noble Rose of Afghanistan.

I am able to provide someone with decants of SL’s Un Lys, Rahat Loukoum, Vitriol d’ Oeillet or Botegga Veneta’s Eau de Parfum if anyone is looking for any of those.

  • Jenny Katz says:

I love these posts and I love this concept and I love how everything smells and I love all of you and I’m so glad to have fallen into this world. ~sigh.~

  • susan says:

I’m looking for Oscar de la Renta’s Essential Luxuries – samples of any or all.

Will be back tonight to see what wishes I can grant. 🙂

    • Sherri says:

Susan, I have samples of MI Corazon and Oriental Lace you are more than welcome to. E-mail me at sherrimiller at me dot com. 🙂

  • Ines says:

Dear Fairy Godmother, this month, I have a wish too. 🙂
I got my hands on a sample of Arquiste Anima Dulcis and absolutely loved it so now I would very much like to sample anything else from Arquiste if anyone has a sample they would be willing to send…

    • Patty says:

Hey, Ines, I can send you another Arquiste or two to try. I don’t have a lot of any of them. Just e-mail me at patty at perfumeposse dotcom and let me know which two you wish for the most!

  • Dina C. says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,
I’d like to try Annick Goutal’s Tubereuse edp, which is hard to find now. I’ve heard that it’s a green tuberose, so I’m really curious to sniff it. Thanks.

  • Helen says:

Dear Fairy Godmother, I wish only for your advice. My beloved Calvin Klein ‘Truth’ has been discontinued. Our love affair was long, we were perfect for each other…but the time has come to move on. Please, can you offer me any advice on a replacement? Is there another chance for me to be happy? Thanking you in advance for a sprinkling of fairy dust.

    • odonata9 says:

Well, if you are interested in getting any more , I have a 1.5 ml sample I’d be happy to send your way if you are in the US (email me at jasouza9 at hotmail dot com). If you are looking for new things to try, you should sign up for the Monday Mail on Now Smell This!

  • Monica K. says:

    Dearest Fairy Godmother,
I would be ever so grateful to receive a sample of carnal flower or 31, rue cambon. I’ve heard raves about both yet have never smelled either one. Thank you in advance!

    • Farouche says:

Monica K., I would be happy to send you some 31 Rue Cambon if you are in the US. Just email me at pattor at rcn dot com.

    • Caroline says:

Monica K, I actually have a Carnal Flower sample I would be more than happy to send to you (it would take a few weeks though as I’m going away on vacation). If you would like, please send me an email at beautifullylazy at gmail dot com…. Yay I’m so excited I get to grant a wish! I’m new to the board and so happy to be reading these posts!

  • Helenviolette says:

I would love to sample Vero Kern’s Mito. And I would be happy to grant many wishes in return. I am hpetry on MUA.

  • Lisa D says:

Fantastic Fairy Godmother, could you find your way to sending me a sample of Neela Vermeire’s Trayee? Or any of the Vermeire line, really. All three sound fabulous – and I haven’t managed to sniff any of them!

    • poodle says:

I could send you my sample of Mohur if you’d like. Email me at pokeypoodle at Verizon dot net

    • Civet says:

Hi Lisa, I’d be delighted to send you my little sample of Trayee! It’s very nice. You can email me at civetohell at gmail dot com.

  • Mariekel says:

    Dear FG,

    Hello my dear Esperanza.

Still hoping beyond hope for some Miller Harris Rose en Noir … my little decant is perilously low. Otherwise, I would love to try Oliver Gincense: Luckyscent has been out of samples for many months now.

  • André says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,

I have three perfume sample/small decant wishes that I hope you will be able to grant: Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist, Guerlain Vol de Nuit in parfum concentration and Guerlain Mitsouko in parfum concentration. Any one of these would be greatly appreciated! I live in the US.

    • 50_Roses says:

I can send you a sample of VdN extrait. Just click on my name in this post to get my email address.

    • Heather F says:

I can send you a decant of Iris Silver Mist, though it’s from my old bottle (2006) and I think the top notes have dissipated (not gone off, just gone away…), though the drydown is still great. My email is heather.elizabeth.freeman at gmail

  • Elia says:

    Dear Esperanza,
my wish is for a sample of Roja Dove’s Neroli extrait. I’m in the EU.

  • Sherri says:

    Hi all,

My elusive sample of the month is Cartier L’heure Verteuse. I sent an inquiry to the manufacturer, but haven’t heard back from them. If you have, or know where to get, a sample of this one it would be much appreciated!

    • Ann says:

Howdy, sweet Sherri! Your wish is my command. And how fitting that I be your Fairy Godmother, when you’ve been mine big-time and also to so many others here on the Posse!

  • Sherri says:

I am looking for Solley, who was searching for Bal d’Afrique last month. Solley, I replied to your comments but did not receive an email from you. I still have your Bal d’Afrique…just send me your address. I’m at sherrimiller at me dot com. 🙂 Your fairy godmother

  • Lynne Marie says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,

I would love a whiff of Les Nereides Musc de Samarkind.

I love seeing all the joyous connections connections made here each month – this is so much fun!

  • Farouche says:

Dear Fairy Godmother, I have a fairly easy request (I think). I would like a smallish (2-4 ml) decant of Prada Candy. I live in the USA. Thanks!

  • KathyT says:

I would love a sample of Birmane by Van Cleef and Arpel if anyone has some to spare. Thanks!

  • Civet says:

Oh yay, perfume fairy godmother time! I’ve heard so much about Amouage Memoir Man. I’d love to try it if anyone can spare some!

  • Julie says:

    Hello all Fairy Godmothers!
I really wish to try Miller Harris Coeur de Fleur.
Anyone here who can help me out?
    I am in Europe.

  • Em says:

I’m still on my quest for the Perfect Orange Blossom, after sniffing wildly on both coasts. I wore the Lutens OB for my sister’s wedding, but it is more of a cold-weather OB. LUSH’s OB, Jo Malone’s, and A Lab on Fire’s Sweet Dreams 2003 are all lovely and near-perfect but too brief, while Seville a l’Aube and Azemour morphed uncomfortably,

Now I am back in the South, far from places to sniff, and so this month I dream of a small spray of Houbigant Orangers en Fleurs or perhaps ELDO Divin’Enfant.

    • CarolynC says:

Hi Em. I can help you with the Houbigant Orangers en Fleurs…have a decant and can drain off a 3ml spray sample for you. E-mail me at bogsc at aol dot com.

  • CarolynC says:

    Dearest Perfume Fairy Godmother,

I’ve offered to grant 2 wishes and hope to be able to fulfill a few more before the month ends. Sharing perfume from my stash is one of my greatest joys! I’ve heard great things about Bruno Acampora Musc and would love to try some. Nothing like cuddling up with a comfort scent in the midst of winter!

    • Jan Last says:

I have been the recipient of Carolyn’s sharing, wish I had what you are looking fore, sigh. Just wanted to do a public thanks to you!

      • CarolynC says:

It was my pleasure Jan! Still hoping to sniff a smidge of Bruno Acampora Musc, which I’m hoping will keep me from a blind buy of a bottle on Lucky Scent. 🙂

    • Patty says:

Hey, Carolyn, I ahve a wee bit of the Musc, I think! E-mail me at patty at perfumeposse dotcom, and I’ll try and hunt id down!

  • Red says:

    Dearest Fairy Godmothers,

Please allow me to celebrate with great joy my Birthday with your rainfall of blessings this month, on Valentines Day.

Shower me from your overflowing mystical fountains of your Chanel Coromandel, Guerlain Vol de Nuit,
Serge Lutens Borneo, S. Lutens Santal Mysore, S. Lutens Tuberose Criminelle, Jo Malone Dark Amber
    & Histoires Tuberose Animale.

    Happy Love Day Fairies!!!

  • Katrin says:

Dear Perfume Fairy Godmother, I would love to sample PG’s Querelle. Everything I know about it suggests that I might really like it.
    PS I am in Europe.

    • dinazad says:

Hi Katrin! I’m also in Europe and have some Querelle to send. convallia at yahoo dot com.

  • Emily S says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,
I stumbled onto this page after reading your decant how-to (thank you for the advice!), and I think this is such a wonderful system. I am always thrilled in my heart to find such a wealth of beautiful, generous souls, on the internet no less! My first fairy godmother wish: Vintage Diorella! Take care you lovely perfumistas!
    -Emily

    • Jan Last says:

Emily, I don’t have much left but I will gladly share it with you. jdeangeo at aol dot com

      • Emily S says:

Thank you Perfume Fairy Godmother! You’ve made my day. I just emailed you 🙂

        • Jan Last says:

Argggghhh! I went into the perfume closet, and I’m sorry to say, there is only the original Dioressence and Diorissimo left. I’m sorry to disappoint you, would you like a sample each of the other two??

          • Emily S says:

Hi Jan! I just sent you an email before reading your message here. Like I said, that would be lovely, and I’ll appreciate whatever fragrances, if any, you send!

          • carole macleod says:

i wish you have some more to spare of Dior vintages for my wife, gifting her instead on my birthday. i live in Canada dear fairy. Thank you.

          • Jan Last says:

Red, I now have vintage Diorella, Dioressence and Diorling. I am down to the last bit of my Diorissimo, but am hunting. I am jdeangeo at owl dot com.

          • Red says:

            Hi Jan,

email was sent. thank you much!

    • Jan Last says:

Emily, did you get your Diorella?? My Aunt has sent my old bottle I left at her house along with a Diorling! Happy to share!

      • Emily S says:

Thank you so much Jan for all of your generosity! You are a wonderful woman with a heart of gold. I hope I can soon grant your Fairy Godmother wish! <3

Thanks for the update Carole! I’ll let you know when I receive your package– I am very grateful to you and super excited!! Take care my dear Fairy : )

  • Suzy Q says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother,
This month my wish is for a small amount of Slumberhouse Pear + Olive. I am in the US.
    Thank you in advance.
    Suzy Q

    • Martha says:

Hi SuzyQ – I can help you out with the Pear & Olive. Send your address to martha dawt mcphail dawt ten (in numerals and all one word) at gmail dawt com.

  • Rena says:

As an extremely broke grad student, I really appreciate getting little goodies in the mail. This month I’d like Poeme or Tocade, preferably in sprayable form. Many thanks to all past and future Perfume fairy godmothers.

  • rosarita says:

Hello, lovely Posse peeps! I just love this feature, both giving and getting! Dear fairy godmother, this month I am interested in samples from Parfumerie Generale, which is a line I haven’t explored much. I’m esp wanting to try Tonkamande. Or if anyone has a decant of Chanel Coco Noir they’d be willing to part with….I have some goodies I could send their way. I’ll check back here or contact me at opponatrix at gmail dot com. I’m in the US, thanks!

  • Nina Z says:

A number of perfumista friends, knowing that I love carnation fragrances, recommend that I try Guerlain Metalys/Metallica. Of course, it’s discontinued. So my wish this month is to have a chance to smell this one! (I haven’t found a wish to grant yet, but will keep my eye pealed all weekend–and all month.)

    • Jan Last says:

Wish I had some for you, but there is a decant for sale on ebay, hope that helps.
      Your Fairy Godflopper

    • Carolync says:

Nina Z, I’m happy to grant this wish. I have a small decant of Metalys and can drain off a 3ml spray sample for you. Email me at bogsc at aol dot com.

  • tammy says:

I am back in SoCal for a bit and made the trek to Scent Bar (every bit as fabulous as advertised, BTW!) and after my 3 hour visit there, I wandered the shops for a while and met the most delightful Persian lady, who smelled sooooo nice…but couldn’t remember whether she was wearing Jacinthe et Rose or Un Air de Damas Rose. I wasn’t familiar with either, and she was sweet enough to write the names down for me.

Has anyone heard of either? I’d be happy to pay for samples and postage. I would happily have crawled up under her scarf, and since my husband’s favorite on me is the Bvlgari rose, I’m hoping this might have the same effect on him!

    • Maggie says:

Hi Tammy. Can’t help you with samples but both these lines are carried by First in Fragrance (Aus Liebe Zum Duft) in Germany and can be bought on-line. Un Air de Damas is by Dorin, Paris and Jacinthe et Rose is a Coudrey fragrance.

    • Maggie says:

Tammy, just did a quick search on the Maison Dorin website (can you tell I’m not busy this morning) and their only North American supplier is a shop called Parfumelle in Fort Worth, obviously cheaper to get stuff posted from Texas than Germany. Hope this has been some help.

Thank you so much! I wonder if they’d sell me a sample? I will definitely call them tomorrow. Appreciate your help!

  • RuthF says:

I was so pleasantly overwhelmed by the kindness and generousity in the last Fairy godmother sample wish, thank you!! I would love to try anything by Bruno Acampora and I’d love to reciprocate. I’m in Australia, ruthfarrelly at gmail dot com

    • Patty says:

Hey, Ruth. I think I have enough musc to send you from this line. E-mail me at patty at perfumeposse dotcom!

  • Sylvia says:

Hi Fairy godmothers! I have samples of Hermes Elixer de Merevilles , Prada Candy, and about half a bottle of Pure White Linen that don’t work for me; and I’d be happy to let someone else see if they’re a fit! I would love to try Patricia d Nicolai Le temps de Une Fete, L’artisan Seville L’aube, or Annick Goutal Neroli. I am just so encouraged to see the sharing and I’m hoping I can help someone out!

  • Joy says:

I’d love to try Art de Matiers [sp?] from Guerlain, as well as their middle east-exclusive scents.

I have a 5ml Musc Tonkin split that doesn’t work for me. It needs a good home.

    • Heather F says:

      Hi Joy,
I can send you a 3-4ml decant of Cuir Beluga and 1ml samples of Spiritueuse Double Vanille, Tonka Imperiale, and .5ml of Songe d’un Bois d’Ete, if you like. Email me at heather.elizabeth.freeman at gmail. 🙂

    • Melis says:

Joy, I would like to take the Musc Tonkin off your hands. I live in Canada, not sure if that poses an issue. I have some things I can offer. I can be contacted at meloubeauty at gee male dawt calm.

    • Melis says:

Oh my, Joy please ignore my initial response. I read “Musc Tonkin” and lost my head. Responded without realizing Heather had already posted. Sorry ladies!

  • Jackie b says:

This is such a great idea, last month there were samples whizzing in and out of Perth, thanks all FGMs!
I have never tried any Frederic Malle…would love Iris Poudre, wish wish.

  • FeralJasmine says:

I would really love to try Portrait of a Lady or the Kenzo Jungle Elephant if anyone has a sample to spare.

  • EchoCharlie says:

    Dearest Fairy Godmother,

I would so love to have a bit of Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady. I tried it once..but I feel like I need to get to know it a bit more. I look on here everyday in the hopes that I can once again help someone else with their wish. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It is lovely to be able to give someone something they desire..even if it is very small. 🙂

  • Jenny Katz says:

Ojaddicte! I’m typing on my phone and can’t seem to reply directly to you, but I can send you Vero Kern’s Kiki. Email me at jennykatzmusic at gmail dot com! So happy to be able to grant a wish!

  • Connie says:

    Dear Perfume Fairy Godmother,
This will be my first month granting a wish and my first time making a wish. I would be eternally grateful to have a sample of Ormonde Woman for my Mom, who has been making eyes at it for a few months.

  • ojaddicte says:

    Dear Perfume Fairy Godmother,

If I could please try any of the Vero Kerns or Agent Provocateur, I would be eternally grateful! Thank you 😀

  • Jenny Katz says:

Glorious fairy fragmothers! I wonder if anyone has any Secret Garden by Aftelier? I am one month into learning to be a perfumista and last month two people were very kind to me, but I didn’t have anything to send them back. I ordered so many samples last month (oops) that I might even have something to trade this time! I would also just be interested in people’s RESPONSES to Secret Garden…

You’re all so inspiring! I have started a story/album about a perfumer… the plot is basically done and I’ve written the first song…

    Jenny

    • 50_Roses says:

I just bought a bottle of Secret Garden, and I can send you a sample if you are in the U.S. I absolutely LOVE SG. It is by far my favorite of the Afteliers that I have tried so far. I think it lives up to its name quite well. It does smell like a garden rather than a bouquet. It is not a modern-style squeaky clean floral. It is a little bit dirty, although I would not call it skanky. It is more like you are smelling an actual garden–not just flowers, but the leaves, soil, mulch, and what not that are in real life gardens, perhaps mixed with a little bit of sweat, as if you were walking around the garden on a warm day and perspiring lightly. Like most natural perfumes, it is a little lacking in longevity. I get about two hours out of it, although that is not terribly bad for me with my perfume-eating skin. That is fascinating, BTW, about the story and album. I would be interested in reading/listening to it when it is done. If you want the SG, email me at roses_50 at yahoo dot com.

  • Patty Pong says:

Esme? if I may call you that. Would you be kind enough to grant my wish of trying a bit of Guerlain Tonka Imperiale?
I just ask you do your best…

  • hajusuuri says:

    Dear Perfume Fairy Godmother,

I was a good fairy last month and will likely be one again this month. My wish is for a group of perfumes but even getting one of them would be fantastic: Histoires de Parfums Veni, Vidi, Vici. If I can only have one, my order of preference would be Veni, Vici, Vidi. I am crediting (blaming?) Lucas from Chemist in the Bottle for making these bubble up to the top of my wish list.

    Thank you.

    • Patty says:

Wish I could help, but I haven’t run across these yet! Since they were brand new, make sure to re-post this month in case someone has them!

  • oohlily says:

    Dear Perfume Fairy Godmother,

I’d love to try Stella McCartney’s L.I.L.Y or PARFUMS DE NICOLAI Odalisque. I haven’t been able to grant any wishes yet, but I’d love to get the chance to surprise you with something!

  • Amy K says:

Thanks, Fairy Godmother! I would love to find any amount of BPAL Gluhwein to sample. I love drinking gluhwein, so I think I’d like to smell it too.

  • odonata9 says:

I do love these posts, and hope to be able to help someone out (the person who was looking for PG Bois Blond – I still have a small decant if you’re interested! jasouza9 at hotmail dot com).

I’d love a sample of Diptyque Volutes, EDT or EDP – haven’t tried either! Or perhaps a sample of Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee?

    Thanks!

  • Heather F says:

These posts are so awesome, and not just because I get to indulge my inner-only-child (I want the samples…ALL the samples :-), but because I’ve gotten to know so many awesome perfumistas over the last two months doing this [waves at new friends]. This month I would love a sample of FM’s Iris Poudre, Un Fleur de Cassie, Kenzo Jungle l’Elephant, or SSS Cocoa Sandalwood–if anyone has one of those to spare! (I have lots of samples and tea to swap in return.) Thanks!

  • Poodle says:

Oh dearest Esperanza, you were so good to me last month that I’m not going to ask for a thing this time around. I just want to say that fairy godmother’s are fabulous. At least mine have been.

  • Tatiana says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother-

I would love to try a sample or small spray decant of Carner Barcelona Rima XI.
    Thanks!

  • yin says:

    dear perfume fairy godmother,
would love to be able to sample the (older) apres l’ondee in any concentration… i was thinking of purchasing it, but apparently it has been reformulated quite recently so it’s almost all iris, according to luca turin… which makes me sad.

i am new here, but i hope to be able to grant some wishes, as well 🙂

    • marymom says:

Yin, I can send you a decant of the Apres L’Ondee EDT, I purchased my bottle from a small discounter, and while the bottle was unopened, I imagine it is a couple years old, at least. Yin, my personal stump speech about Luca Turin is– make up your own mind what perfume you like. He and Tania Sanchez clearly have loads of axes to grind and many personal biases. As entertaining as that book is to read, do not take it as anything more than a funny and somewhat educational, though highly biased, read. I mean, come on– what did Richard Fraysse or the Creeds do to those people to justify the ugly attacks on their life work? Snub them at a cocktail party? I find the perfumes beautiful. Many of their past reformulation claims were simply false, in my view, although now, with the IFRA restrictions, a lot of formulas must of necessity change. There, I’m done. E-mail me at Mary Cain-Simon (all one word, no hyphen ) at sbc global dot net!!:0)

    • marymom says:

Hi Yin– I have not seen any e-mail from you– if you are still looking for Apres L’Ondee, please do let me know, I will not air any further my complaints about the Guide, I promise!

      • Yin says:

hi, Mary! So sorry for the delay (things are busy), but thank you so much, I hope you received my email?

And believe me, I do agree with you in general about the Guide 😉 It’s just as a relative newbie, it’s easy to wish to defer to the opinions of those who seem so much more knowledgeable!

  • Martha says:

    Dear Fairy Godmother –

I am longing for some L’Heure Bleue parfum or EDP.

Thank you, and thanks for doing this.

  • 50_Roses says:

    Dear Perfume Fairy Godmother,

I would love samples of any of the Roja Dove perfumes. I would love to try them in person, but it is such a long way across the pond to get to them. You were so kind to grant my wish last month and I hope I will be able to help you fulfill some wishes this month.

    • CarolynC says:

Hey 50 Roses. I have small decants of 2 Roja Dove Perfumes…Unspoken and Enslaved. I should be able to drain off small samples for you, which I’m thrilled to be able to do given your past generosity to me with sample passes when I was a basenotes newbie. E-mail carolync at aol dot com and I’ll start rooting around in my decant drawer for them.

      • CarolynC says:

Oops…that’s bogsc at aol dot com. Clearly hadn’t had enough coffee when I replied this morning.

  • Jan Last says:

Ah, Perfume Fairy Godmother, my Valentine’s Day birthday approaches and the older I get, the less I seem to want EXCEPT a little perfume surprise. iColoniali Seductive Elixir Sensual Silk, to be exact. I was very fortunate to have gotten a lovely sample last time, so I will understand if my wish is not granted. I love granting wishes, too, and will be following this with interest. Thanks for letting a little light shine in on my laundry day.

  • lucasai says:

Good afternoon (morning, depending on the time zone) dear and beloved perfumed Fairy Godmother. You granted my January wishes.
I had a pretty busy January because of the exams (which are scheduled until mid February), during this month few new perfume wishes appeared, hope you’ll be able to grant my wish.

Wish upon a star, I would like a sample of Chanel 1932 to fall from the sky on my lap. I would go and get it, but believe it – Chanel has no boutiques in Poland. Secondly I would like to try Amouage Beloved Woman and Man, as well as some Le Labos (I only know Iris 39)

    • Heather F says:

Hi Lucas, I think I’m just before you on the HdP Tuberose pass on Basenotes (we emailed about samples back in November), and I have samples of 1932 and Le Labo Patchouli I’d be happy to send along once with that sample pass. My email is heather.elizabeth.freeman at gmail . Sorry I can’t help with the Beloveds–I hope someone else can!

      • lucasai says:

Hi Heather! Oh, I remember we talked but didn’t know if you remembered, it was quite a while ago, that sample pass seriously takes a lot of time (especially because I’m last)
Thank you for the Chanel and this one La Labo!

    • I have a nearly full bottle of Estee Lauder Pleasures, a full bottle of Shiseido Zen, and an very slightly used 8 ml of Guerlain L’heure Bleue, willing to send samples…I’m seeking a little bit of L’air du Rien, Diorissimo, Chanel #5 or #19, or perhaps you have an interesting aldehyde or a rose, gardenia, violet, or osmanthus perfume…something very feminine floral or very incense-y (think Lutens or Bella Belissima) you wouldn’t mind parting with, samples or bottles…kkquilts at cox.net
