July Perfume Sample Fairy Godmother

Esperanza the Perfume Fairy Godmother

Hey, it is time again for the Perfume Sample Fairy Godmother forJuly 2015.     So here’s how Fairy Godmother works – this post will be open for the entire month of July 2015.   I’ll start a new one at the beginning of August 2015.   For those of you new or that need a reminder of how this works – in comments you can list one or two things that you are yearning for and can’t seem to get –  a perfume sample is the easiest wish to grant for me.  Or you can wish for a full bottle, decant, vintage perfume or discontinued perfume you can’t find.  If someone has it and can help you out, they can reply to you in comments and then you can arrange to go offline through e-mail to work things out.   Please don’t post e-mails in comments unless you spoof them somehow, like this – patty at perfumeposse dawtcawm (spelling the dotcom at the end that way prevents robots from finding it as easily). Caveat Emptor and all that, don’t send people money, check out their references on MUA or Basenotes or the Facebook groups before you send something in a swap, if you wind up doing a swap.  We have some amazing Fairy Godmothers that show up every month, granting wishes right and left. If you’ve been the recipient of some kindness, do give back when you can. I know people have gotten wishes granted, and every month they comb through the posts trying to find one or two people they can help out, and it just makes my heart happy.  If it’s a gift, send away.  I should note that  it’s more likely that a Fairy Godmother will happen along if you are a fairly regular commenter on The Posse and people recognize your name. I’ll sometimes play Perfume Posse Fairy Godmother and go through the list and grant some perfume sample wishes. I’ll pick from ones that nobody has been able to help with – I’ll spin my random.org wheel  – and send them The Precious.  perfume sample magic wand So what is it that your heart desires?  (pulling out wand from the back of the closet and blowing off an inch of dust)

    Hey everybody,
I’m looking for a bottle or samples of Cynthia Rowley (her first fragrance in the pretty rectangular blue bottle with a gold cap). It is such a pretty summer fragrance and I love the honeysuckle notes. It has been discontinued and my bday is coming up. I have some random samples I can give in return. Message me if you want to trade and I can list the samples I’ve got.

  • janebkrn says:

I would like to try a couple of Tom Fords of different scent families. So many rave reviews, but he seems pretentious. Is he a media hype, or is it just that good?

    • Andrea NM says:

Jane, I have chemical sensitivities, so my view may be different from others. Some of the TF scents strike me as heavily synthetic. BUT the ones that skew more natural I find very easy to wear. No weird notes cropping up as the day wears on, no airway irritation, and consistent each time I wear them. Given my situation I consider it “investment dressing.” I have Santal Blush, Italian Cypress and Neroli Portfofino I can send you. Email me. andrea deveto at gee em ecks (gmx) dott calm.

I’d like to sample some DSH Perfumes. Seems like there’s so many I don’t know where to start. I’d also be interested in any all-natural perfumes. My screen name is my yahoo address

    • Kate C says:

I have a bunch of DHS samples of my own that I’d be happy to “decant” for you.

  • Peppermoon says:

Hello fairies! Last month my request for gourmands went unfulfilled, probably because of the weird timing of the post last month. This month the top scents on my wishlist are L’Artisan Tea For Two, Smell Bent Prairie Nymph and anything with a chocolate note (I’m hunting for the holy grail chocolate scent). Email is (smith rachel 680 (at) yahoo (dot) com) Thanks dears. 🙂

    • Peppermoon says:

….and I’m from the US, not sure why my little flag doesn’t show up.

    • Becky says:

Hey, Peppermoon! I have Tea for Two. I don’t have a ton of chocolate, but you’re welcome to what I can find. Others can supplement. 🙂

      I’ll email you.

  • Libby says:

I’ve been searching for an affordable orange blossom – it’s been so hot here in Seattle that anything else is too much! I bought some orange blossom water from whole foods and mixed it in a sprayer with some water, but let’s just say it doesn’t last long, but it’s lovely for those few seconds before it evaporates. I have a sample of L’Artisan Parfumeur Seville en l’Aube but I can’t decide to buy it. any suggestions for a light, creamy orange blossom would be appreciated!

    • Peppermoon says:

For pure orange blossom on the creamier side, try Penhaligon’s Orange Blossom or Jo Loves Orange Tulle. Neither are sharp or citric. And I haven’t tried this one yet but Kerosene Unforsaken is apparently a creamy orange blossom/creamsicle scent.

    • Becky says:

Have you tried Flora Nymphea? It’s more green and dewy than creamy, though, with a shot of honey.

    • poodle says:

For a cheap and cheerful orange blossom try Eau Aimable by le Couvent des Minimes. I can send you some if you haven’t tried it. Email me at pokeypoodle in the land of Verizon (dot) net

  • taleofahare says:

I would love to try any neroli fragrances; preferably with the focus more about the neroli than the other ingredients like a soliflore in a sense. I have samples of Annick Goutal’s neroli which I like, just seems short lived. Plus I have an almost finished bottle of the essential oil so I am a bit stuck on what I think I want to smell but I am open to new and different. My info is my username here at ye olde yahooey. Orange blossom would appreciated as well. 🙂 thank you lovely fairies!! And any random Chanel coromandel that might fall into the mailing envelope would be well loved too 🙂 that’s turned out to be some tall order. Lol
