No Post Today!

So I had something to talk about, I got the DSH Coffee Absolute, and it is pure fresh perked lovely!  I love it.

Last Friday my pupper Anya had a relapse.  She had been doing so well, and she was jumping around at me swatting fruit flies – swatters make the Frenchies crazy, it’s like a mop, insanity happens –  and something must have happened, and now she is (semi?)paralyzed in her back legs again.  It is sometimes hard to know at this point what is real use and what is reaction not related to nerves actually feeling anything.

We are back on the crate rest and med therapy.  Steroids, Gaba, 1/2 Pepcid, muscle relaxers and Amantadine  as needed.  She is out of pain now on Day 6, she does move her legs and can stand on them, has good tone in her backside, but I’m really uncertain of what she’ll get back after this episode. I never really worry about that.  As long as she isn’t in pain, and she is happy – and she doesn’t really care if she can walk or not, she just adjusts to wherever she is in life, she’s my hero that way – then I’m happy.

Long healing process, probably more therapy, if rehab thinks it will help, once we get her a little ways further down the road..

So the DSH coffee absolute is great if you are looking for that pure coffee smell. It has it, and it is rich and black and amazing.  It’s what I sip in the kitchen when I do my diamond painting and talk to Anya in her little open pen, in between hopping off my chair and crawling in with her and loving on her.  She boops me with her nose, and then licks me.  I hate being licked, but I let her do whatever she wants.

Love to you and Anya, Patty!

    • Patty says:

Aw, thanks, she is doing well! It’s the price of love and responsibility. I do confess there was a complete sobbing meltdown for a few hours when I realized she was in so much pain and could not walk anymore. 🙂

She’s okay. They are so resilient. Just time to heal and then we’ll see where we are then. I’m the big baby, she is my little cuddly dog rock.

She will be fine! We have made it to the step-down time for the steroids, where we start cutting the dose and make sure her pain free holds. So far, so good!

  • Cinnamon says:

Oh my, best healing wishes to the pooch!

  • Tara C says:

Very sorry to hear Anya’s had a setback, but you are focused on the right thing, her happiness and lack of pain. Dogs are so incredible that way, they don’t get upset about what they can’t do, they take pleasure in what they can. May she have a good recovery!

    • Patty says:

Thanks, Tara. She is doing well. I’ve got my little hospital area set up for her, and she has plenty of her fave things to croonch, so she’s happy.

  • Maya says:

I hope your little girl gets much much better soon!
