Hey Posse, Well the wait has been long for new fragrance from the Neela Vermeire Creations line. As you know, Neela is one of my buddies. The excitement as she has brought these new Fragments by NVC fragrances to life has been electric. They were already on the drawing board and partly ready when C19 hit the world. Everything got put on hold. Prices skyrocketed, ingredients and almost everything else became scarce, delayed, unavailable. It was a labour of love. Finally I can tell you, they have arrived.
Fragments by NVC from Neela Vermeire Creations 2022
There are three in the Fragments by NVC collection. I’ve tried them from samples but my bottles are winging their way to me as I type. Really, I should write again when I’m able to give myself a really good spritz.
Nemus
Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Lemon Bergamot Ginger Geranium Tea Olibanum Clary Sage Patchouli Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha Agarwood (Oud) Cedar Ambergris
A clean lemon, refreshing and tart. A bunch of bells and whistles but lemon and lemon blossom are the shining stars. Excellent for spring and summer.
Purpureum
Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Tonka Bean Coffee Cacao Pod Fig Rum Licorice Myrrh Tobacco Immortelle Pepper Magnolia Labdanum Leather
This is by far my favourite. It’s warm, rich, cozy and luscious. When I first spritzed it was eye rollingly good. So easy to love. When blind trying it with some perfume buddies this was also the biggest hit.
Thyina
Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Pimento Hazelnut Violet Lavender Tolu Balsam Sandalwood Birch Tar Coffee Amyris Peru Balsam Styrax
Clever, delicious and so unusual. This is another that was so surprising. The notes aren’t so groundbreaking but they are worked differently to how I envisaged and the fragrance is a wonderful twist.
There is a Sample Set available at Neela Vermeire Creations. I think they are only going to Europe and North America at this point. The set will be at your Neela Vermeire stockist soon.
Woo Hoo! New fragrances by Neela Vermeire. So exciting.
Portia xx
So exciting for new Neela perfume! All three sound interesting and no doubt well done. Purpureum has many notes I love; it sounds like my favorite of the three but who knows! I’ll be looking for the sample set when available. xoxo
I agree with Tom about #3. It seems a bit odd, but I’d want to sniff it. #1 seems easy to like, maybe FB worthy–but all the notes in #2 are huge favorites. I think I’d want to bathe in the luscious second one with coffee, rum, tobacco and imortelle. I think I must have this one.
Oh, these sound so cool – especially #3, although I’d suspect #2 would be my favorite as well. So glad you got to sample them and tell us about them. Okay, I wouldn’t say no to #1 either….
Numbers One and Two would be my picks, I think, though if you chose Number Three I would pester you for a sniff…
xoxo
Portia,
Was Bertrand Duchafour the perfumer creator for these scents as he was for her first batch of scents, or someone else? Just curious. Thanks for your reviews!
These popped up on my FB feed recently. Two and three sound exceptional (the violet and lavender — ie, not my fave notes — in three maybe balanced out by birch tar etc?). NVC are no longer available in a shop (as far as I can tell) in London but the company graciously (given Brexit) ships to UK. So, discovery set might be in my future.
The first two seem right up my alley (I love lemon and love immortelle) the third seems, er, challenging? But she is so good is like to try it and see..
I agree! I am all agog at the idea of Neela handling lemon – the other two would be a worthwhile try … because Neela!
