Tibet Ur Bottom $ by Smell Bent

Hey there Posse! Tibet Ur Bottom $ is one of my all time favourite names for a fragrance and I must like it because my bottle is over 50% empty, a 50ml bottle so maybe I have 20ml left. That’s some solid usage considering how much fragrance I own. Sadly it is discontinued, I know so sorry, and I’m a bit devo becsause I was hoping to buy at least one more bottle. BUM! Oh well, let’s chat about it….

Parfumo gives these featured accords in one line:
Ironwood, Galangal, Frankincense

Darnedest thing, on opening I smell a glorious citrus burst that lasts only a short while before we are overtaken with sweet woodsy incense. Gummy and resinous Tibet Ur Bottom $ is a fun look at incense, an incense that would even please a fruitchouli wearing tween because it has a lovely sugared sweetness all the way through.

Tibet Ur Bottom $ is fairly linear, moving a little towards the powderier and woodier end of the spectrum as it ages and not lasting longer than 2 hours unless sprayed onto fabric, which adds a good deal of extra longevity and sillage. I like that I am beautifully fragrant whilt it lasts. Something warm and enveloping about this particular incense when often I find it to be a cool note. Here it feels honeyed and a little animal, or maybe it’s just how my skin projects it.

Brent leonesio Smell Bent 2015

Brent Leonesio is doing some really fun and interesting work, the whole range is incredibly reasonably priced and he has his tongue stuck firmly in his cheek as he makes his fragrances. The site has a great sample selection too.

I wear Tibet Ur Bottom $ in the cool of the evening or as a morning pick me up because it’s a little firecracker and jolts me into the here & now. Maybe a bit too fragrant for work and its longevity issues would mean respritzing too often.

I did notice over the 4th July weekend that they were having a sale at Smell Bent, you might want to jump on ever there and see if it’s still running.

      Hi there Tena,
Totally agree. I have a couple of the oils in my suitcase just in case I leave my frags at home, or need some extra selections. I love the little glass dabbers too, it feels so elegant.

I love smell bent! They really are a lot of fun. I haven’t tried this one, but Incensed was also a very nice simple incense, also discontinued I think. Their 4 ml travel sprays are the perfect size to try something. I love One and Blimey Limey, and there are a few more I’d like to try. They do have great sales, but they are usually on the full size bottles which I don’t want to buy unsniffed.

      Hi there Odonata,
Yes, you have to spend some time sampling in anticipation of their sales.
I had some Incensed and Incensed Short Fuse. they were excellent.
So much good stuff on the list.

Just was perusing the website and I see Incensed is still around, for anyone looking for a great, simple, inexpensive incense.
