Truth or Dare by Stephen Nilsen for Madonna 2012

Heya Posse! Back from my holiday and then BAM! It’s Mardi Gras. Sydney is sweltering and I’m loving it after the chill of Europe but my body sure was surprised. I’d like to chat with you all about my choice of fragrance for the Mardi Gras: Truth or Dare by Madonna.

Truth or Dare by Stephen Nilsen for Madonna 2012

Truth or Dare Madonna FragranticaFragrantica

Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Top: Gardenia, tuberose, neroli
Heart: Jasmine, benzoin, white lily
Base: Vanilla absolute, amber, musk

Just to give you an idea of my night this is how I arrived at my gig that night. Hosting the Mardi Gras Parade for 600 people who had bought tickets in the glam Stands at Sideshow. On the back of a Harley being ridden by one of Sydney’s infamous Dykes On Bikes; Jenny. We had a freaking ball.

Portia with Dykes On Bikes 2016 Mardi Gras

There were rumours that Madonna was going to appear and close the Mardi Gras after party so I thought it was a good idea to open with her too.

So I was wafting down the parade route and every now and then over the smell of motor bikes, petrol and humanity I got a deliriously gorgeous whiff of tuberose/big white floral/vanilla goodness. I stayed smelling fabulous till I arrived home and even when getting undressed was greeted with heart pumping hefty washes of Truth or Dare. It was perfect, a fabulous accompaniment to an equally fabulous evening.

You can buy Truth or Dare at FragranceNet $19/75ml before coupon!!!

It’s so good you need it RIGHT NOW!!

That pic is awesome!

I’ve come across Truth or Dare on occasion at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx. I contemplated buying it once; not sure why I didn’t. I do like a good BWF.

That photo, Portia. My God. One could only hope to look half as cool on the back of a motorbike as you. I haven’t tried Truth or Dare, but I’m re-evaluating my relationship with BWFs, so I’m not sure I need to – yet. 🙂

As much as I dislike tuberose, I’m going to have to try Truth of Dare at your behest. I might even like it this time.

You look like you’re having a blast on that bike!

You know, I like Truth or Dare, but I’m already stocked up on BWFs, so I just don’t feel that I need it. Also, the vanilla is a little much for me.

(Heh. All those enormous white flowers, but it’s the VANILLA that’s too much? SMH at myself!)

Hmm, that’s a point… I like Songes, but similarly to ToD, I don’t need to buy any. Songes is a little less vanilla-y in the edt, but I think I generally prefer the sweetness to come from the florals instead of vanilla/amber.

(Exception: Vamp a NY. That’s a tuberose-root beer float, and I love it. Shrug. Nope, can’t explain.)

I tried TorD and Queen on your reccomendation and they are both fantastic! Not as fantastic as you on the back of that Harley, though. That is a fabulous photo!

Wow, what a cool photo (and a wonderful night), Portia! Welcome home and glad you had a ball on vacation. I love TorD, but alas, only lightly dabbed, never sprayed; I also adore the shower gel and body lotion. They are lovely on their own or make a great base for several other scents. Thanks!

Freakin’ Fabulous, Portia!!!!

A nice persom on NST gifted me her bottle as she had associated it with a nasty episode in her life. Now, whenever I wear it or even just looking at the bottle, I’ll think of her AND you!

Truth or Dare was such a perfect choice for such a perfect moment. I hope it reminds you of this forever after.
