Adam Levine For Her

Heya Posse! 50ml of Adam Levine For Her costs less than a McDonalds large Big Mac meal if you find a good deal! That’s insane. I know, the hype has been huge about it. Personally, that turned me off it a bit. Plus I think Adam Levine might be a massive dickhead, though the jury seems to still be out. Anyway, not so long ago I had an order at one of the discounters and under the perfume I was looking at the Adam Levine bottle was being shown for nearly zero dollars. Blind Buy occurred.

It arrived a couple of weeks ago and I finally decided to give it its first outing at our Melbourne Cup event and then later at Trivia that night. WOW! I have never had this kind of reaction to ANY perfume I wore. People needed to tell me how much they loved it, LOADS of people. It was uncanny. So I thought you guys better get in on this secret……

Adam Levine For Her

Adam Levine For Her

Parfumo gives these featured accords:
Top: Saffron, Citrus fruits, Tagetes, Spices
Heart: Jasminum auriculatum, Australian sandalwood, Rose
Base: Benzoin, Vanilla

Firstly, how cute is that microphone bottle? Clever and fun idea.

When I first spritz Adam Levine For Her the creamy, Samsara style of sandalwood is given the menthol Australian bent. Those top notes hardly even make an appearance other than to give the sandalwood somewhere to rest comfortable. White flowers add breadth and a very little breathiness.

Through the heart I finally get a hint of the marigolds. They’re really used as a counterpoint and to hold the fragrance grounded. Um, now that I look properly at the notes that could be rose doing the heavy lifting, but it smells marigoldy to me.

The base is a beautiful sandalwood amber that isn’t nearly as diva as Samsara or even Miller et Bertaux Santal +++. Somehow they manage to keep it more low key and chill. Don’t be fooled though, it may be acting all that stuff but it is projecting in the megawatt range. Basically grabbing people by the nose and bringing them, to ask you what the hell that magnificent scent is. LONG after my nose has completely closed down to it.

To sun it up: Adam Levine For Her is a spicy/white floral/sandalwood/vanilla that seems to project amazingly. Don’t know why he made it for women when it’s obviously Ah May Zing on dudes as well.

Have you tried Adam Levine For Her yet?

How could I resist trying it after your review? Hope I’ll find it soon…

  • rosarita says:

I’m glad to see your review, Portia, this has been on my buy list for a couple of years…..like maybe in midwinter when I really need a little something. It’s the marigold that attracts me. I also just realized that if I don’t wear it I can give it to my mom, who smells great in everything and loves surprise gifts 🙂 Off to look for the best deal now.

    • Portia says:

AHHH! Mums are the best. If only I had mine, she would feel ultra cool in a superstar fragrance by a modern era rock god.
      Happy hunting Rosarita.

OH WHAT THE HECK I’m overdue for a blind buy!!!! Off to look. You convinced me.

    • Musette says:

It’s like… $11? Yeah. ELEBEN! And it sounds much like a ‘you’ perfume (I was hoping it was a ‘me’ – because ELEBEN – but it’s more you) xoxox

    • Portia says:

HA! Please don’t beat me if it doesn’t work out March.
I’m pretty sure you’re going to love it.

  • Jennifer S says:

Hi Portia. I jumped blindly on this bandwagon cause yeah….not much to lose at that price point so why not? The cap on mine doesn’t fit snugly but won’t fall off if I tip it upside down but it’s a nice solid bottle otherwise.
I didn’t love it at first spray but I didn’t necessarily dislike it either. I’ll give it a few more tries and see how it works.

    • Portia says:

      Hey JenniferS,
Yeah, it’s not the greatest love of all for me, but I really like it. It was the incredible response from others that made me want to share it with you all.

  • Musette says:

I love when this happens! Damb near FREE? And smelling FAB? ho, yus! xoxoxo

  • matty1649 says:

I bought this perfume after reading a positive review last year. It was cheap as chips,so I thought, why not?
I’m so glad I did, I really like it. Cute bottle too.

  • MMKinPA says:

I also acquired this for next to nothing and although it’s not in my top ten, I really enjoy it when it comes out. Definitely a Samsara-ish vibe but a little more fun.

  • Gina ! says:

I’ve owned this one since it came out. I like it but don’t love it. Definitely was worth the negligible cost you could pay for things a few years ago. To my nose, it is a tiny bit of citrus, spice, saffron, huge tart fruit like black currant, benzoin, sandalwood.

    • Portia says:

      Gina,
I know how you love your well priced beauties so it’s no surprise you grabbed this well before me. Do you weart it very often?

  • Cassieflower says:

It is one of those sly little frags that catch you unawares. I got it earlier this year, and it has had more than it’s fair share of wear. (Ooh I’m a poet). Just last week I purchased another bottle because free!!! I’m not surprised you got so many comments, it really has mass appeal. I haven’t sprayed on hubby yet, but I will, to get it from a different perspective. I would have said there was tonka in there without looking at the notes.

  • Melanie says:

Hey Portia, this one a super easy-peasy scent.
Spot on description. Definitely a bargain.
I will wear it tomorrow in honour of your post and the fact that we are back in lockdown and I’m working from home so can do Brigitte quantities xx
