Norms. Where I didn’t get birthday grub.
Thanks to you all for the birthday wishes- you made turning 39 as comforting as always.
I’d like to tell you that I did all sort of spectacular and interesting things. I didn’t. I didn’t even have the heat as an excuse. Yes, it was hot (not nearly anything like what it is in the rest of the US. Or world for that matter.)
I did take my drive up the coast- up the 101 to Calabasas then across to PCH and back down. It was actually overcast and kind of chilly, which I love. For those of you interested, no I don’t put the top down. There just isn’t enough sunblock in existence for that, so the top goes down if at all on the last leg of the journey- 15 minutes at most.

Since it’s Father’s Day, a picture of my dad from his HS Year Book.
I did also hit up Sweet Lady Jane for a piece of coconut cake. But I think my tastes might have changed. I can tell it’s the same cake (and no, the quality hasn’t gone down) but I think my tastes have changed. Funny how that happens- and it seems to happen less with scent and more with taste for me. I can pick up a bottle of something from Uncle Serge and it’s like sitting down with an old friend. But the coconut cake made me want a nice cold glass of celery juice.

My cake wasn’t THIS big..
Next thing you know I’ll be telling you about the wonders of Axe body spray..
But I really reached for my old bottle of AG Eau de Hadrien, which is still available and you should try right now. You can get samples at Surrender to Chance.
What did you do for the weekend? Let us know in the comments.

Why does she have a red patch over her eye!? I KNOW nobody had the nerve to throw something at her – not even in a movie ) is that Fred MacMurray next to her? I always thought Father Knows Best(?) My Three Sons… whichever… blunted that simmering, vaguely menacing sexuality he had
And I did nothing. Nada. Zilch. It was elebenty billion degrees! I drank lemonade, gallons of water, read fluff and slept in a chaise under the fans. It was lovely!
